13th Oct 2024 (7 weeks ago)13/10/2024 I am not sure what has happened to MD, but it seems selling a house via this agent is frustrating, there simply isn’t any pro activeness, it’s all reactive and lack communication. You have to chase them to find out what’s going on and how far the sale has progressed. And when you chase they react by saying let me look into that and come back, they should be on top of each sell, not let me find out which them seem to take days Clearly standard have dropped. Years ago they would actively sort things out. Background- Currently selling my house via this agent, they found a buyer within 4 weeks ie in July this year, however, so far lost about another 4 weeks just waiting on information for buyers solicitors from this agent. I was told they had id check delays, then told just an admin issue not a buyer issue. Memos have been requested. and then told It is our extra id checks that takes a little while with credas. etc. All this took 4 plus weeks. mean time we waited for buyers solicitors, and finally they came back and said they had not been instructed by this buyer. When Agent tried contact then no answer, the agent could not get hold of this buyer, so started the whole process again. Was advise best to put the house back on the market. luckily we found a second buyer mid Aug, however, its now been 8 weeks, and the progression of the sale is at best slow, I have to keep chasing the agent to find out what is going on, and that itself losses days and they do not seem on top of what is going on, "let me find out" seem to be the phase they use. Surly its in their interest to be on top of each sale and move it forward.

Really wonderful agents, George, Frazier, Charlie helped us with viewings while we were searching and were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, answering our many questions and following up with us. This help and guidance continued once we accepted the offer and started the conveyancing process with help from Victoria and Amanda. They were really proactive and helping to ensure things were always moving forward. He was professional, responsive and understanding. Estate agents don’t have the best reputation generally but Neil goes a long way to reverse that - he offers something different.

House was presented clean and in good condition aswell. Houses are not overpriced either. Recommended them a lot ! Really professional and easy to talk to ! Thank you so much for everything !!
18th Mar 2024 (8 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

He turned up on time..strong point for me...showed us the property in our time,no rush and answered any questions we had. Very affable (compliment) chap who in my opinion was good at what he did..No pressure ..would recommened him and his style.
18th Oct 2024 (6 weeks ago)I wonder if the property ombudsman knows that leaders are forcing people to take contents insurance through their provider? It is a requirement if you want to take a rental property through them. If you don't take it then you can't proceed with the property. This sort of practice isn't allowed. You cant force someone to take contents insurance. You have been reported to the property ombudsman Leaders. Poor practice.
