I ended up having an accepted offer less than 24 hours after viewing the property with the additional help of Matt & co. Very efficient team.

15th Apr 2024 (12 days ago)Terrible, wanted to enquire about some properties , guy from other side picked up my call like he’s just woke up from sleep, couldn’t answer any of my questions, wasted my time , glad I’ve never asked them to advertise any of my properties, lack of professionalism, lack of property knowledge, please try to avoid this agent, you won’t go much further with them.

I had a massive issue on the night of the 27th of March when storm Nelson hit. I tried to secure the sliding door that goes to the balcony and the mechanism system just broke whilst the door was half opened. I had hailstones and water coming inside the flat + the awful winds. I couldn't sleep that night but I contacted Mitch earlier in the morning and explained my urgent situation and how I need it urgent help and he was really amazing. He understood the urgency of the issue and made sure to coordinate a maintenance team to help fixing the sliding door (provisionally) so no more water could come in. Thanks Mitch.

Many many thanks !!!!- 3rd Apr 2024 (24 days ago)I'm deeply DISAPPOINTED with my experience at this agency and compelled to share my story. Despite my initial optimism, I'm currently facing the possibility of LOSING over £9000, encompassing my deposit and the remaining rental fee, which remains unpaid two months after my tenancy's conclusion. My advice? Think twice before choosing this agency. Our journey to rent an apartment was fraught with challenges, including daily visits due to constantly rescheduled viewings. Eventually, my friend and I managed to secure a lease for one year, with a six-month break clause, paying the full year's rent upfront. Upon moving in, we were greeted by an apartment in disarray, complete with remnants from previous tenants and two DIRTY sofas. When we requested a cleanup, the agency insisted that it was our responsibility, as we hadn't specified the need for one in our contract. (Fine, it was my fault to did not list it in the contract.) The maintenance team proved to be purely for show. Immediate issues, such as non-functional light, closet doors that wouldn't close, were dismissed as my responsibility and persistently IGNORED despite numerous requests for assistance. Attempts to reach out to the maintenance team and my property manager were met with SILENCE, no callbacks, or any form of response. The agency's lack of communication and accountability has been profoundly frustrating. In dire need of my deposit and rental fee, I've called multiple times only to be met with excuses for my property manager's absence, ranging from lunch breaks to illnesses. It's almost inconceivable. This experience serves as a stark reminder to carefully evaluate your options before committing to this agency.

A genuine lovely girl who went more than the extra mile to help me get my first home. From the first time we were put in contact right down to the final paper signings, Isobel was super responsive, professional, knowledgeable and happy to answer all the questions a first time buyer had! I highly recommend Beals to anyone reading this review as they clearly have a great recruitment team with an eye of passionate employees, and always put the customer first! One last thank you to Isobel for being such a star.

3rd Mar 2024 (8 weeks ago)Im shocked at the level of lack professionalism disreguard of potential tennents aswell of lack of care. I arranged a viewing for saturday. Its a good job i called up to confirm and check the address. Turns out my viewing had been cancelled as property was gone. No one called me to update me. I would of been standing out side waiting in the rain and no one would of been coming. To add insult to the matter, when asked why i wasnt informed i was told there was 40-50 people viewing, they didnt have time to call so many people. The lack of care and whatever attidtude is some what concerning. So basicaly we dont care about letting you know you been cancelled. Leads me to wounder if they are the same with tennants. If something needs replacing or fixing will they even respond?

6th Apr 2024 (21 days ago)Do not rent any property associated with Nexa especially if you are young!! We have had endless issues since renting through Nexa properties which they are still yet to acknowledge/resolve. These issues include damp within the property (black mould and mushrooms growing), leaking boiler, no hot water for days at a time, lack of security (windows that do not close), we were also without a shower for 3 months. If you are a young person they do not attempt to fix or resolve any issues you have until you threaten the council or not paying rent!

18th Mar 2024 (6 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

We have 2 small children and nothing gets repaired, the shower doesn't work properly the washing machine is draining into buckets among several other issues that affect our daily life unfortunately we still have 9 more month to go.

He has been superb in the sale of our house and went above and beyond to ensure that our sale went ahead. From the beginning to the end he has had a positive outlook. On our viewings he was bright and bubbly and ensured that the viewers were made aware of the benefits of our property,. When we eventually agreed a sale we had a long process due to the fact that the buyers held up matters, however Rhys would always be pressing to try and speed up the process and always kept us up to date and informed. At one stage our buyer went abroad, Rhys was on calls to our buyer at 1030 at night trying to deal with their queries in an attempt to push our sale through. We can’t thank Rhys enough for what he did for us. He is a real credit to his trade and we would throughly recommend using him to friends and family. Again thank you Rhys Henry

31st Mar 2024 (27 days ago)My review is regarding the lettings team, and the landlord Clydesdale Group or any of their associated companies (e.g., Templeton Stockbridge). More info on issues I've had with the Clydesdale rentals below (Elmfield block and Clydes Dale Court). Make sure everything is in writing. Clarify any ambiguity no matter how small over email. Charters will continuously mislead you and intentionally lie with false information in order to secure deposits and have agreements signed. If this happens, you can contact your financial institute through which you paid. My bank confirmed that my deposit was obtained fraudulently and could be claimed as a scam. They will go back on everything written and verbal (e.g., their recorded calls) and claim misunderstandings every time. They probably won't honour what they initially agreed but it's useful to have the evidence for claims or if you need to get out of the agreement early. If you do rent with them, they will likely send outdated inventories so you have to spend hours fixing and updating it, essentially doing their job for them. And then they'll try to blame you for issues they failed to record on the check in inventory. You need to be really thorough with the inventory to ensure you get your deposit back. They take 3+ months to carry out repairs and hire contractors that do shoddy jobs (that cause further damage) if they even bother to do the repair. There is no communication, you have to chase up everything, and then they try to deflect the blame. Management is just as bad. Finally got in touch with a director 6 months into my tenancy only to get more excuses, minimising, glossing over things, not bothering to look into the details/complaints properly, and taking no accountability. Minimal morals, and minimal care for tenants. What's worse is that Charters staff gaslight you, and are passive aggressive. Staff are ridiculously incompetent, lazy. Elmfield block If you do an Internet search you will see that I am not the only one that was lied to by Charters and vital H&S information withheld. They lied about mould, the type of construction being done, and ongoing water contamination concerns. After being caught out they blamed it on a "new" staff member not being aware, except she wasn't new (she moved from sales to rentals) and the manager also didn't disclose any of these issues on the numerous occasions I spoke with her. Clydes Dale Court - Landlord refused to address mould and damp issues caused by various leaks despite being made aware of their legal obligations. There is a dampness and ventilation issue in the whole building resulting in a silverfish issue. - Charters and the landlord lied to me about which furniture I was going to be provided. I rented a fully furnished house--everything is in writing about which furniture was agreed to and was told that it would be new. On move in day, 90% of the furniture was either missing or not correct, some of it really old and in poor condition. This was never resolved. - I was assured it would be professionally cleaned. There were urine stains on the bathroom wall. Every radiator covered in layers of dust, spider webs, dog hair. Mould on every window sill and in the kitchen walls. Dirty surfaces. Stains on walls and skirting (including a brown stain near the bathroom switch). Overgrown garden with dog faeces, and covered with trash (amounting to bin bag full once picked up). Carpet smelled of wet dog after supposed professional wash for duration of my tenancy. - There is a sewage issue for all the flats that they won't resolve. - Numerous counts of unauthorised entry when I wasn't home despite me stating that I do not want entry without my presence or knowledge and that this is illegal. Also had a contractor try to enter using his own copy knowing that I was home. Contractors have copies of keys to all the flats, which is not safe at all. They eventually changed my locks after 7 months because I had evidence that someone entered while I was on holiday and because I said I was going to report it to the council and the police.
