This is a disgusting housing association. My mother is terminal, bed bound and upset, because these people park an enormous van outside of her house and on her death bed she gets to see NCHA written on the van. The person who drives it has been asked to move and he point blank refuses even though he has a driveway and lives a couple of hundred yards away. Today I was given a warning that he's a bit of a hard man who's brother is in prison. We have emailed and phoned many times NCHA, my mothers neighbour also very ill, has complained to NCHA and so have her sons many many times. Medical services and ambulances are unable to park outside of the house because of the great big NCHA van parked outside. Sometimes this van is not moved for many days. Like currently the van has not been moved for 10 days. If the vehicle is not in use or not needed why doesnt NCHA park the vehicle at their depot. Even though NCHA have been repeatedly asked, they refuse to move this vehicle even though its upsetting a dying woman.... Read more

I genuinely don’t have to time to write everything Wrong with NCHA and it’s housing, customer service and it’s repair teams: My list of problems are never ending and more importantly never resolved, they are awful in every way shape a form. I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. I've been in the same ncha property for 25 1/2 years now and have had no complaints at all. I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I got into rent arrears a while back and was sent a notice of eviction proceedings letters which get sent out automatically, and after one phone call they sorted out a repayment plan that was within my budget and put my mind at ease that I won't be evicted as long as payments continue. As for repairs I have had plenty to report over the years because its such an old house but they're always carried out efficiently and competently. I know they have had problems lately with contractors which has caused a few delays but they always make sure the work is eventually completed within a reasonable time frame. I don't have the ability to buy my own home and with private landlords charging extortionate amounts I feel very fortunate to be in an ncha property. My daughter lives next door but one to me in a house exactly the same as mine but with a private landlord and she pays double what I pay in rent. ??????????... Read more

Shody & lax company trading as a 'housing association' . The repairs are slow, delayed & mostly carried out by unqualified general trades persons. Reporting problems only leads in sending letters to tenants in an unrealistic time. Their way of resolving problems is basically 'double standards'. I would strongly recommend considering choosing a reputable & professional association before choosing NCHA (Non Comited Housing Amateurs)!! Those bad reviews are increasing, worryingly! I’m a NCHA tenant too for many year and got my own issues. You can easily speak to receptionist and that’s about it. No one is available after that point or call has been scheduled 3-4 days later ????. It is pure laziness I call it. And disgusting thing is part of our rent money goes towards office staff. Unreal... 3rd time now I’ve took of work for them to not even turn up or say they can’t change the fan YET when it’s raining the rain comes through and it’s Electric but they don’t seems to care, I’ve asked to speak to a Manager to be told there not on site ! At 18 after living in care, no criminal record, dealt with all sorts of abuse hence being put in here- they offer no support for anything. They expect you to pay £100+ for bills then add service charges after literally just moving from care with nothing. The staff are rude, push you out, say unless you’re having a crisis you’re not allowed any help but they’re meant to be supportive of you and get paid as support workers etc and refuse to help with anything!!! We had a leak in our front room about 8 years ago, which has led us now to wood worm and very severe rotting of the floor, the floor sunk pretty badly, i have already been damaged by going through the floorboards, i rang ncha and all they can say is its above my pay grade and that they apparently sympathise with my now permanent issue, i have not been to the evening post because i have done one better, i went to a housing disrepair solicitor after being pushed around and fobbed off after calling nearly every week and nothing has been done about it. Absolute disgrace of a housing association. I would advise everyone stay away from ncha as all they want to look after is their own pockets. 14 and a half years of living through an absolute nightmare.... Read more

I’m sad to say from totally respecting NCHA for the first 21/2 years after I moved in, to now getting that stressed out that I have cried today that they have lost all my respect. The cowboys (pathetic really as not even fit to be associated with a cowboy) who are now employed to cover the repairs are not fit for purpose. I have come to the point where it is making me ill to have to deal with Fortems and would rather leave the work than have to put up with spending days at home in the hope that they might come and are able to do the job. I think that how residents are being treated, and having to put up with a repair company not capable of organising a booze up in a brewery ( being very polite) it’s time to fight back. I’m sure it would make interesting reading for the local papers, just my experience let alone all the others on here. I may be 70 and had brain surgery but I am not prepared be treated like this. I will keep this short, please look elsewhere! What you save in rent you pay for in a number of areas, namely rude staff support and waiting weeks for repairs. Any time you report a repair they will either take forever to respond via email or patronise you to death via the phone then incorrectly log your job. The staff regularly assume you don't know what you're speaking about and just speak over you. Fortem (their repair company) hardly has appointments in the month and cancels on the day, it's all a joke. I have a leak in my flat, reported it before it got major and they did nothing till it spread to the rest of the flat and I incessantly called them. Please spend more and go elsewhere as peace of mind is priceless.... Read more

NCHA! Something needs to improve immediately in regards to your repairs and how you treat your tenets. The property my parents are in suffered an arson attack last year! It’s been well over a year and NCHA has done nothing at all to repair the damage the fire caused. There’s still cracked/broken windows, melted guttering, burnt down fence which leaves no privacy and a destroyed law. Yet when they have called numerous times they are being fobbed off by rude ignorant staff who want you to fill out dozen forms which lead to nothing (to mention they have done this a few times repeatedly) I have also called on my parents behalf to which the person on the phone stated that this matter isn’t an emergency or a priority for them. What a mess NCHA find themselves in regards there repairs for most of there customers now they have taken on there new contractor ( FORTEM ). This company was most certainly the wrong contractor to choose when NCHA management sat around the table on Procurement day. & Fortem now Unable to keep there words on there company logo`s ( PEOLPLE WHO CARE ) & with NCHA also taking the blame for this massive blunder in the history of the organisation and now with customers having no faith or tust in NCHA to deliver a fair and proper service for repairs. the following true story's give evidence of the true failure of such a collapsed service. Disabled wheelchair customer reqired a light bulb in there kitchen, six weeks??, a Disabled wheelchair customer with a potential leak in the loft because of a sudden show of mould & damp on the ceiling , eight weeks ????, customer with children needing new smoke alarm, three weeks ???. I ask, why hasn't NCHA taken on a 2nd company to help with the massive back log of repairs or wipe Fortem clean from there books and replaced with a reputable company that can actualy give our customers the service they so deserve. i fair the backlog for repairs is going to last sometime yet before it gets better.... There is a family over the road where severe child neglect, abuse and violence is happening, its spills out onto the street and we all live in fear never mind the child, and there response was it's low level. The out of hours EMERGENCY repairs REFUSED to come out and help the police get into a flat to stop a suicide! But they’ve visited mine in 15 minutes when my door lock broke a few months ago????????!!!! The guy on the phone was extremely rude and uncaring!! Disgusting attitude!!! Do not want to leave 1 star but had to otherwise I can’t leave a review! I have young children in the property. My central heating broke on Christmas Day! I called on Boxing Day emergency out of hours for an engineer to fix the issue. On arrival the engineer advised he wasn’t sure what the issue was and that someone will attend on the 28th December to fix the issue. Guess what no one turned up. I called on the 28th at 3:50 asking why no one has turned up they advised no one was booked to attend. Are you taking the %*$\!!! Was told someone would attend in the 29th Dec guess what NO ONE ATTENDED AGAIN!!!!! Bare in mind I’ve had no heating for 4 days now! Called AGAIN to be told someone will attend on the 30th December- they did and guess what they don’t know what’s wrong and am still without central heating. It’s Friday I have children and it’s now day 6 WITHOUT HEATING!!!!!!! I’ve been told someone else will have to come out but doesn’t know when. You are literally pushing me over the edge. NCHA are a disgrace! I phoned on Tuesday because my boilers broken and they told me I’d have to wait 72 hours before someone would even come and look at the boiler. I’m a disabled household and I cannot tolerate the cold and my body shuts down in cold temperatures and I could easily be hospitalised from this. NCHA still refused to act until after 72 hours and came out Friday at 15:55 and told me they couldn’t fix it because it needed a part and to ring again on Monday. All my lymph’s have swollen, and I’m in pain and they’ve done nothing to help. I’m a priority customer with my Energy supplier because I cannot function at temperatures this low and could die, so I’m not allowed to be off supply. It’s now Saturday and my house is damp and I have no clue when the boiler will be fixed. I’ve got several layers on and it’s still uncomfortable. NCHA need to change the 72 hour policy and stop causing such distress to their Tenants because they don’t have a right to decide if it’s cold enough to act! Also I’m already struggling with energy costs like most, and I’m now having to use heaters and the Emersion heater until they decide to sort the boiler. I’ve phoned several times and nothings been done! You should all hang your heads in shame!... Read more

NCHA are a terrible housing association. I have just got off the phone telling them that our boiler is not working it has error and no flame. The woman then asked me had I tried Google it to try and fix the problem myself. I said I had tried resetting it and also turning it off and on at the wall but it is still not working. She then said because it is still British summer time it would be 72 hours before they would do anything. I said that before when we had a problem because we are disabled they contacted repair people and they came out. She went away to speak to someone came back asked for address then said couldn't do anything and to ring back on Monday.My husband has a brain injury and diabetes is supposed to keep his bad foot warm. I am disabled and my condition has caused mobility problems. We have waited in past for months for repairs to be done. When repair people come out they are horrified the way we have been treated as they say we should be priority. Still British summer time she not got a clue we are now in autumn it has got a lot colder over past few days. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.... Read more

Awful service. They have left a gate to my building wide open for weeks, allowing anyone and everyone access to my property, and putting residents at risk. They refuse to provide a date for the gate to be made secure (despite knowing of a history of thefts from the building) and have stopped responding to emails. They don’t care about their tenants and however how much you complain they won’t do anything or will do a poor job, the bath would always leek downstairs to the kitchen for about 11 years I call they come they paint and say they fixed it but it still happens so then for about the last year i have been calling for them to change the whole bathtub which they did after one year of me constantly calling for that to happen. The man came after he left the job undone where we could see under the bath he left the side panel in my hallway and said he’ll come back then next day to get a new handle. There are wooden sticks with needles under the bath that my old mother nearly stepped on its been one whole month and the panel is still not on its disgusting if I could give NCHA 0 star I will horrible service I have been waiting for so long for an appointment so the man can come back however I had nothing do I have to wait a year until he finally finishes the job ?... After having cowboy builders sent to do work on my bathroom the housing still haven't repaired the damage 3 years on I just get promised it will be sorted ... Just get people in that don't know or don't want the work ..I guess all this housing cares about is the rent. Stay clear even if its a brand new home they are cheap/dangerous I've been out of pocket by having to buy a new stair carpet from bathroom leaks Also my child fell out of the bath because the panel don't fit properly and was hurt badly. This company doesn't care about any of its tenants. Recently my cylinder started leaking and it needed to be replaced. After so many calls with them, explaining the water pressure and the cost of a new cylinder is a same as pressure cylinder and asked them so many times to change it to pressurised cylinder so I can take a shower . To my surprise they changed it to the old type of cylinder. Why? The cost is the same it would just help me out much more . I am very disappointed at them and Can't wait for swaping with some one else. NCHA is really not for the communities, they are business with no tenant interest.If you Can Don't Move to their properties. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with them . Shame on you as A company. Please if you seeing this Can you explain why wouldn't authorize a pressure cylinder as the cost of it is the same with the old type cylinder.... Read more

I’ve been with these for over 4 years and they were amazing. Slowly things began sliding downhill (obviously management) and now they are awful. I work full time and pay full rent, my repairs are left weeks on end. I like most would give ncha 0 if I could. Excuses after excuses from the top down, contractors who they use who are inept beyond words. Waiting nearly 6 wks for a boiler which is heavily leaking to be replaced, constant skirting around getting the job done. No communication, and when they do decide to communicate, they offer me nothing but excuses. Charitable!! Hmm. They need to spend some time philosophising on how they treat people. DON'T TOUCH THEM!! We have lived in an NCHA house since 2008 and I can honestly say the house and the housing assocation are abysmal. We've had numerous leaks and other problems over the whole time we've lived here and we have had to pay to redecorate each time. If you phone the out of hours emergency maintenance line they do not log the call, half of the problems we have with our house have been caused by the cowboy outfits they employ and they are now refusing to put them right. Their maintenance people can't fix anything properly. We have had no heating now since Saturday, it's now Tuesday. They didn't log the call when I phoned on Sunday, and only sent a plumber yesterday after I threatened to report them to the housing ombudsman. He couldn't fix it and ordered a part. The plumber who arrived today didn't have the required parts, even though they had been ordered and the whole purpose of his visit was to fit those parts, so we still have no heating. I spoke to a manager who said he would call me back, he didn't. Last year I made a formal complaint. They sent an inspector round, he didn't have time for us, he rushed round the house like a hurricane, saying he was in a hurry, and refused to do anything about some of the faults we'd reported, even though they'd been caused by their contractors' bad workmanship.... Honestly am disgusted with the services I have received. Have been ringing since I moved in about the botched fence - garden has never been safe. Today it has partly blew off and all NCHA can do it give me a inspection in March to see if I need a new one!!! Which is weeks away. My son has not been able to use the garden since October. Not to mention the 3 months I have to wait to see if my property has radon in it. Would stay clear of any house that are owned by NCHA in the future.... Read more

This company does not care one bit about its homeowners. I lived in one of their houses for 10 years and had an awful neighbour who made noises from 11pm until 3.00am most nights/early mornings. I complained on several occasions but the ladies from the housing team always made me feel like they were on her side. She stole my sons ball when it went into her garden and told housing she hadn't seen it and they made me feel like the believed her over me. She took the mickey out of my son when he was crying in the garden. She slammed her back and front doors so hard it shook our house. Nothing was done. Her boyfriend damaged our fence and because it was ours housing made us fix it. She played rap music loud in the garden with swear words in it which upset my son as he is autistic snd doesn't like loud noises. He wouldn't go in the garden in the end. I tried to escalate things to a manager but that was shut down by the ladies on the housing team. My life was hell for the last 3 years of living there because I felt unheard and accused of things I didn't do. They advertise themselves as caring for their customers mental health. Its a lie. They never cared about my mental health at all. And to top it all the horrible neighbour had also upset her previous neighbours. Makes me wonder why nothing gets done about people like that.... Poor level of service received, quick to take your money but don’t put things right. Brown water coming out of my kitchen and bathroom taps, constant blockages in my shower and sink. I can’t have contractors keep coming to my house, running the tap and saying they will get back to me, or contractors coming with drainage unblocker and hoping for the best. More needs to be done! They aren’t classing it as an emergency, therefore I don’t have access to clean water for the whole weekend. I was promised a call back on Friday, the repairs team decided to call it a day and left work. Did I receive a call back? No! These are ongoing issues for the past 5 years I’ve lived here! I have always had a good experience in the past with Nottingham Community housing but today I have reported my front door not closing and and it is now 10:30pm and still no one has come. The house is freezing and I can't go to bed to sleep for work in the morning as my house is not only unlocked the door is open and unsafe. It is just me and two children and think it is disgusting that this hasn't been a priority. When I phoned up I just got told someone will be with you in 24hours so I'm expected to stay awake in a cold house for 24hours. The lady seemed that I spoke to didn't seem to care at all and her answer was can't you put something at the door. I just find it a absolute joke. Not one to complain especially not on reviews but so frustrated by their response.... Read more

A truly dreadful management team from top to bottom - valid complaints against staff or another Tennant are in no way investigated properly and manipulated to suit the NCHA agenda - be warned these people work under the guise of charitable which is in no way the TRUTH... Read more

Absolutely worst housing!! I have been trying to book a repair which was left undone by ncha workers they have left the boiler outlet outside its pipe and the hot water is cascading down my wall onto the window which is making the wall damp and the putty soft everything I try and call repairs I'm on a long wait when I reach number 5 or 4 I get disconnected why?... Terrible housing association. Lack of CCTV resulting in property damage, including letterboxes. I fear my personal information ending up in the wrong hands. Visitors especially but also contractors taking up parking spaces when it's residents only parking (can't leave your house for a second without ending up having nowhere to park, very frustrating!). Some residents think the ncha rules don't apply to them and therefore do what the hell they want. Contractors doing half a job and cutting corners just because they can't be bothered or don't have time to do the job If you're in a position to, think carefully about going through a housing association, ESPECIALLY ncha.... My daughter moved into a new property with Nottingham community housing association she soon realised she had two bins missing. She contacted them to be told that she has to pay forty pounds each for 2 new bins and she is a single parent on a limited income. Surely this is not her responsibility disgusting.... Read more

A tenant for a few years, the staff are lovely and my repairs are always dealt with promptly. The contractors are always cheerful and caring and very respectful. The only issue I have is Parking, no room for parking when contractors are arriving . Bearing in mind that many residents are elderly or need carers there are always parking issues. Ambulances have issues all the time, at times parking on the road blocking traffic, emergency services will have no chance in the day if there are contractors using the car park This issue needs to be adressed. I and other residents have complained but to no avail. Its an on going issues for many years. NCHA please sort this out.... Read more

Nothing good to say really. Our letters and other peoples post were stolen throughout out 2 years living there. My bike was stolen from the supposedly secure lock up. Lights in the communal hallway were constantly out for days/weeks at a time leaving them in complete darkness. Blood was all over the communal hallway/handrails was not cleaned up for 2 weeks after neighbors had a fight. Expect to pay way more in service charges thanks to others. The only positive is the apartment was nice, but selling it was the best choice I ever made ????... Read more

I've been a tenant with NCHA for over 12 years now and have always found them very approachable about any issue. I have had a few over the years and they have always been sensitive about any situation. Update- called them tonight due to winds making my fence unsafe as live near a road and school run and was worried about safety. There is a gentleman out there now making it safe! So impressed... I had an issue when my front door wouldn't lock properly after being looked at numerous times , I have 3 small children in the house and I was told to put planks against the door because they couldn't attend until the next day, so leave my door unlocked all night with a young family Inside! Now my boiler has a fault I have no hot water and because I can't take the day off work tomorrow to wait in between 8am and 4pm I am expected to wait until next Thursday to get it looked at , so no hot water for a week again with 3 young children in the house !... I have a boiler that has been leaking for two years it was new for last year I have been emptying bucket of water on a weekly basis It is now so rusty it is unsafe and has to be replaced the reason for leek is a 20 foot pipe through my living room and a further 20 foot pipe out side to reach a down water pipe They are going to keep it in same place even though I live in a ground floor flat with five outside wall that are suitable and near down pipe No one in a potion of authority will talk to me I have requested visit and phone comunicatin I waited in on the 23rd of December for a manager to look into my situation he did not turn up or offer any apology I feel bullied with a take it or leave it attitude I pay full rent and I am not in areas . I know that after a few month it will leek again and I will be expected to empty buckets again i will be talk down to when I ring up and will have to sit in on my days off waiting for repairs that will last a few weeks and start again Nobody cares or ancer emails and now they don't even pass massages on . ÑCHA will put the rent up in April after wasting monies all year Shame on you Susan Pepperday... Read more
