My partner and I have been tenants with Cliftons Estate Agents for a year and a half and they have always looked after us.
We’ve never had any issues with fees, deposits, property inspections, repairs to the property or anything else.
They now have a new repair booking system which allows you to upload pictures and makes things easier for contractors, the agency and the tenants.
Overall Cliftons in general and Gemma in particular are more than recommendable for anyone who wants to rent a property in such a difficult market as Bristol.

Did not come on the checkout despite a fact that they have been informed 1 month in advance. They didn’t inform me about next visit, so finally the checkout has been done without any tenant representative. Poor communication skills, zero support. Didn’t return the deposit! Landlord shocked as well. Reported to the TDS, escalated to the authorities, case to the court is in the process.
Stan has been very professional and helpful with me for my whole house buying experience.
There was also various serious issues along the way with the sale which Stan resolved and helped me with so big up credit to him there!

I lived over a decade in London and never once had to pay fees even half as high as these jokes. 200 quid or so I accepted as annoying but normal, these guys sting you for well over double that. What do you get for your money? Basically nothing. If the upstairs flat floods your entire living room, expect it to take about 6 months to sort out, with you doing most of the chasing. If the fire alarm randomly going off in the middle of the night, expect this to happen numerous times over several months before anybody bothers fixing it. Etc, etc. After this horrendously expensive registration and dismally appalling service, they then proceed to put the rent up, and tell you if you don't like it, they'll evict you. Impressive achievement here, they actually make Foxtons look desirable
First class excellent service received from Goodman Lilley, Henleaze. I dealt with Adele who was extremely professional, sensitive, friendly & empathetic. Always able to find exactly the right balance to handle the challenging circumstances of the property sale activity on my behalf. Highly recommended. Use them and you will not be disappointed.
AVOID!!! THEY DONT CARE AND YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT.
Rented a house in Shirehampton which when given to us was in absolutely terrible conditon, very bad mould growth, very strong smell of dogs and cigarettes, holes in walls, flaking paint, yellow stains seeping from the walls, cracked tiles, lose toilet, overgrown garden, the list goes on and on. It was incredibly depressing. Disputed with Goodman and Lilley who did NOTHING when we asked them, so we ended up fixing, cleaning and redecorating the house at a cost to ourselves.
Now at the end of our tenancy, we handed back the property in a significantly better conditon than when it was given to us and they have taken our deposit saying the house was dirty and needed professional cleaning! Very biased and one way system that leaves the tenant out of pocket with no way of disputing anything, they just want your money. TRUST ME STAY AWAY!

I would not recommend Mark Templer to ANYONE!
I have never left a bad review in my life but my experience with Mark Templer has left me and my partner very frustrated and in a vulnerable position.
Me & my partner were in the process of purchasing a property through Mark Templer earlier this year and it has been nothing but hassle from start to finish.
1) Phone calls were never returned. We called in 4 times on the same day and it got to a point where I had to visit in person to actually get an answer
2) We were waiting for days to receive an email response on simple queries
3) Sales progression did very little to help us and our situation
4) Being told the wrong information on multiple occasions
5) Dishonesty about property history i.e why it previously fell through with the 1st buyers
6) When complaining to Mark Templer himself, he didn't understand and was unwilling to listen to our grievances about the poor service of his company.
After this uncomfortable process, our purchase fell through due to dishonesty and poor communication.
All in all I recommend to keep your distance from this appalling company as the service was shocking and disappointing.
