My first experience of selling a house was certainly marred because of Goodman and Lilley. My house was overvalued which caused it to sit on the market for a long time. I had to chase for updates on potentials and 2nd viewings. One of the potential buyers turned out to be a friend of one of the directors of G&L, who kept offering me ludicrous deals("i'll give you 5% of the value in cash, and I'll redevelop it and when I sell it i'll pay you the balance, everyone wins").
They also left my home unlocked for an entire week and didn't think to tell me when they'd had trouble locking the door. When I tackled them about it I was treated like I was overreacting - at which point I dismissed them.
I'd heard horror stories of estate agents before but always thought them overcooked; they're not!
If you're not bothered about communication and if you like to be treated like a chump, then by all means use Goodman and Lilley.

I never purchased a house from Goodman and Lilley, the purchase fell through but my buyers still wanted to continue on the offer, on the off chance I phoned to view some properties, I had already purchased another property to be informed. I was in a chain from Goodman and Lilley not from the estate agents that I purchased it form, it was no good as my buyers would not wait for a chain.
Mandy Bushell has been outstanding she has tried to help me as much as possible to purchase another property and as fast as possible she also has been very truthful to me for where I stand I would like to take this opportunity and thank you very much, and I so wish there was more people like Mandy Bushell when you are purchasing a property

I was extremely disappointed and frustrated at the lack of quality information that was given to me from them throughout the entire process. I was also frustrated by the attitude of senior management as well. Felt like it's tough luck it will be done when its done and you should be grateful, especially when you are paying £1000s for this service!!!

Due to an issue with the Land Registry information the sale took a very long time - for us from March to December. The prospective purchaser was, obviously, becoming nervous that the sale would not go ahead. Goodman & Lilley staff maintained a close oversight of the developments as we sorted out the Land Registry issue. They kept the purchaser fully in the picture and content that the matter would be resolved. The transaction completed on 15th December. A wonderful attention to the needs and requirements of both vendor and purchaser. We would highly recommend them to both sides of the transaction.

Before entering into our current property search project I completed extensive research and met with a number of agents which if I’m honest was the source of much anxiety and many of the companies I spoke with really didn’t fill me with an enormous amount out confidence.
These feelings of angst dissipated almost the minute I walked into the Goodman & Lilley office and was met by Richard Goodman.
His calm and professional manner put me at ease instantly and throughout my experience with Richard he always put my needs at the centre of his recommendations and advice. A perfectly tailored service delivered with honesty and integrity. I can’t recommend this company and Richard highly enough.
This, for many of us is one of the most important and expensive investments that we will ever undertake and I can say with total surety that you will never regret working with Richard and his team of experts. Will be using this team going forwards.

Unfortunately Goodman and Lilly I would have to advise to avoid. They say they will get back to you and will not which is very unprofessional and disappointing. Lack of respect shown by the Portishead branch, I can not speak on other offices.
You only have to imagine the stress this can cause when trying to move house, what a let down.

Things started well; they were friendly and professional. Sadly, as time has gone on, things have gotten worse. The reply time on emails is painfully slow, for starters. When they do get back to us, the replies are often short and not overly helpful. We have experienced some rudeness, too, which was disappointing. They have miscommunicated amongst themselves, as well as not communicating important information to us two or three times, and for all this I'm sad to say I wouldn't recommend them at all.

After putting in a "Best and Final" offer (which is quite stressful) on a property and told you have won the bid.
How can it be right that someone else can come in and offer a higher bid accepted by the vendors and without being previously notified by the Estate agent just told that the higher bid had been accepted.
We were shocked and maybe if we had been given a bit of notice of this situation we could have considered putting in a higher offer.
We are absolutely devastated to have lost the property and feel it's this sort of action that give Estate Agents a bad name.
Although it's not illegal it is certainly not very moral and very unprofessional.
It's taken us a couple of weeks to process what has happened
and want to make others aware that this could happen to anyone.
This does not reflect on all the lovely helpful staff at Goodman Lilley, Portishead, just those in charge.

Goodman & Lilley were very professional and courteous to deal with throughout the letting process from the moment I picked up the phone to enquire about the property and ask if the landlord would possibly change their mind and consider tenants with a dog. I felt reassured that this might be a possibility and the communication was excellent. From there, a rapid viewing was arranged for me and Sascha showed me round the house I was looking to rent and was great to deal with and very personable. My friend James and I used Goodman and Lilley when we moved to Pill from Plymouth in September 2021. The rental market was absolutely crazy and we didn't think we would somewhere together in time to start our new job.
Thanks to the support of Sascha Garcia we managed to find somewhere, she was brilliant. Sascha always kept us in the loop on what was going on. We actually viewed two properties with her, one of which she found for us and we are fortunately living in now.

I was extremely happy with the service I received when I sold my house through Goodman & Lilley.
It ended up being a pretty complex and difficult sale with many obstacles, but I was never in doubt that they were working hard and doing their best for me.
Throughout the process they liaised with solicitors and kept me up to date with everything that was happening.
I always felt reassured by the easy lines of communication, which in my experience is not the norm when dealing with estate agents.
Would I recommend them? Without question Yes I would.
(I also used them previously to let the property and had great experience with that as well...).

Lengths they went to included literally driving to the house when the phone wasn’t answered to progress the sale at key points.

Like many in Clevedon we went for the estate agent that you see prevalent across the town and they did what they needed but the house didn't sell. We then changed to Goodman and Lilley based upon recommendations, it was then we realised the stark contrast, immediately friends commented on the huge improvement looking on the Right Move advert for our home, (the photos especially). Anything we asked of the team was responded to very quickly and within a couple of weeks we had an accepted offer with buyers. As with house buying it is never as easy as you want and we had some issues, (buyers), but Goodman and Lilley were fantastic. We have to give special mention to Lucy Lingley who took on a lot on our behalf, but always had a smile and always with utmost professionalism.
Would I recommend... Absolutely, if you want a highly professional and dedicated team to sell your house these guys were brilliant.
