The only good member of staff that I had contact there with was Sarah, who ended up sorting some of our issues. We had a lot of concerns raised including hot water which we didn’t have maybe 3/4 days of the week November until around February, not many callbacks regarding raised issues and in the end the landlord tried to charge us for stuff that we didn’t even do. Honestly getting a deposit back in September instead of the 4 week time after the tenancy ended is ridiculous. No communication at all, staff who spoke to us never passed on consents and such so everyone was unaware of what they were doing, but Sarah was great and sorted some things out for us. Wouldn’t use the company again but it was fair experience. Would have been a great accommodation if only issues raised were sorted (only 2 problems were) or if the deposits were actually dealt with properly without it becoming a money making scheme.... Tenant review. NSW took over management of our house in 11/2019. On the 27/12/2019 the internet went off because nobody had renewed the contract (!!) and it stayed off for a month, nearly the entire month of January. Apparently this was the landlord’s fault, but I was not allowed to contact him. Note that January is an exam period and NSW specialise in student lets. After a lot of delay and empty promises, a period during which I got the strong impression I was an annoyance to NSW, we were offered £15 each as a discount on our next rent instalment by way of “a good will gesture and compensation”, which we felt was an insulting amount. Eventually we managed to get this to £40, but only after months of chasing. I got the feeling that neither NSW nor the landlord - whose glowing review of NSW appears on google - appreciated the gravity of the original problem, nor took our grievance remotely seriously. Another unnecessary delay took place at the end of our tenancy regarding the security deposit. I vacated on 31/7 and the inspection took place in the week of 3/8. Despite this, and the property being in a far cleaner state than we found it, it wasn’t until the 17/8 that the landlord approved the release of my deposit. NSW implied in an email and in phone conversations that they would handle the entire process, but it was barely an hour after I had personally contacted mydeposits on the 17th and requested a release that the landlord responded and approved it. Another hour before this I had had an acrimonious call with a director of NSW where she curtly told me that “people have been waiting longer than you”. Charming. Bear in mind that the chase for compensation and the deposit release took place during the COVID crisis when I and others have been especially strapped for cash. The staff have been lovely which is worth a star. The management on the tenant side has been incompetent, unresponsive and frankly contemptuous of their tenants. Ormskirk students should avoid and I can only apologise for how late this review is.... Read more

Great company if you like to call and not receive anything back. Nothing but issues that should swiftly be fixed. I.e. No internet for 3 weeks (they call back and an engineer is out the next day (after they actually answer our calls with intent to help)) No heating over the majority of winter. On the phone they say to file it online even though property manager denies the request and tells you to call. The worst part about this company is how they have handled Covid-19. They expect full payment despite landlords not being required to pay the mortgage and the majority of private landlords in the area vetoing the contracts so students have extra money during this harsh time. They are not a company for the students, just a grubby company looking to earn a quick buck without doing anything for it.... Read more

NSW have fully managed Morison Properties for the past 5years and have always provided an excellent professional service. References, contracts, and the deposit scheme have been seemlessly managed and all the necessary certificates renewed on time. They always keep us updated on new legislation and their online tools are very useful. Communication is excellent - any issues are dealt with very efficiently. Vacancies are filled very quickly. They have a very friendly hard working staff with special mention to Jessica who recently drove forward a sale on one of our properties for us with great tenacity exceeding all expectation also Sarah in property management and Nicola whose financial help has been invaluable. Great agents providing excellent service. Renting accommodation off-campus as a university student can be daunting, but NSW's application and payment processes are easy-peasy. The agents are helpful, lenient and are great at keeping in contact, and the range of properties they manage for landlords (and landladies) are of a good quality which meet any student's needs. We have called, emailed, walked into their offices and they are so absolutely hesitant to actually help students under their care. I showed an interest in a flat in Aughton and went to view the property, I asked the new agent to ask the landlord a couple of questions, after a week or so I phoned the agents and was told that they had tried to ring me and my phone wasn’t ringing out so they emailed me which I didn’t receive, I said that no one else seemed to be having a problem contacting me. The agent apologised and said that it might of been a problem at their end, they then told me that the flat had gone and rented out to someone else whilst trying to contact me. I won’t be dealing with this agents again as I don’t believe they were trying to contact me. POOR SERVICE.... Read more

Disgusted in this company. Had a property with them last year with 2 other people. After moving out we had an email on the 12th of July about receiving our deposts back 10 working days later which would of been by the 26th. Suprise suprise we did not get our deposits back. I and one other got them on the 2nd of august after about 3 phone calls complaining. My friend is STILL WAITING. Today is the 2nd of November. How can 10 working days turn into 4 months???? After many emails sent by her that where ignored to them blagging that it will be in her account in a few days. It is discusting. What a bloody scam of 275 pounds. Avoid NSW more hassle than its worth unfortunately.... Read more

NSW are simply disappointing. It's such a shame that I can only say negative things about this agency. They were useless with the problems myself and flatmates faced throughout the year and here are some: Internet Connection- Not their fault but ignored every email that was sent to them and couldn't be bothered even attempting to contact the landlord about it as the internet stopped with every 5 minutes. Blinds- I rang them up early August to get them fixed, it took them 8 month to do a simple tasks as they couldn't be bothered getting someone in to fix it. Not hot water- For a week we had no hot water, we let NSW know about the problems but yet again they did nothing about it. The worst one of all was that they took £45 from our deposits for re-painting the walls and charged us £20 for cleaning products for a couple of marks on the table. How can they take that much for that? They did and was laughing all the way to the bank. Never been so frustrated in my life with this awful agency and please I urge everyone to say away from NSW. They will try and rinse you. Please stay away... Read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! NSW Properties refused to pay my landlord after I had payed them and suggested he evict me after attempting to hide the funds they had payed. As a result of this, I was issued with a s21 notice of eviction and upon requesting the leaseholders records of payment, NSW properties ceased communication. All of this is highly illegal. The landlords themselves are perfectly fine. For the most part I'd imagine. NSW on the other hand leave a lot to be desired. While most of the staff are fairly polite and helpful. It simply masks a lot of expensive accommodation and a series of unnecessary payments leaving most tenants £1000 out of pocket before moving in. And with such pressure to make said overpriced payments. You're better off going withome someone less stressful... Read more

I have never had such a horrible experience than living with NSW. Slow, almost non-existent, and arrogant service, an overpriced summer retainer that fixed nothing, a boiler that breaks regularly, and internet issues that we've been asking them to fix since we moved in 7 months ago. If you're a student looking for accommodation, stay away. Your rent will most probably be cheaper too.... Read more
