Tried to leave an honest review on the park dean website but they kept a sentence of it! Therefore I have reduced the 5/10 stars to 1/5 on here.
Found the entertainment staff very good but my issue was with the restaurant and the fact they asked a women with two very young children to leave as she had a small packed lunch for them, she bought drinks and toast from the restaurant but was asked to leave very rudely. It was raining heavily with no under cover seating where you were allowed to consume your own food. I found this surprising considering that it is a family holiday. The restaurant was dead inside so not a space issue.
If you plan on not allowing food to be consumed that is not bought at the restaurant then provide an under cover area for people to use or have some common sense!
We treated ourselves to puddings and drink - family of 3 as we had been disappointed by main courses previously and assumed you couldn't go far wrong with dessert, I was wrong, it was pretty appauling (cheesecake still frozen).
Range if activities very good, just a shame about the food and also the fact they edit reviews heavily before publishing them in their website.
If you visit in October you will find they tell you everything is out of stock and they are ordering but can't get stuff (drinks etc.. at the bar). This isn't the case - it's end if season so they aren't ordering anymore unless there is a national shortage of fruit shoots that I am unaware of??? Just be honest with people they will understand there is no point in ordering stuff that will be wasted whilst the park is closed for winter.... Read more

So my review - the caravan was large spacious and well cleaned. There was plenty of utensils and things to use. However the cooker was not plugged in nor did it have a place to be plugged so we had to use the toaster, microwave or eat out. The bedrooms had damp behind the beds and the bedding didn't fit the duvet correctly. The caravans are located very close together but everybody was very friendly. The activities centre, shop and restaurant where extremely over price. I paid 4.99 for 2 rashers of bacon on some medium hovis bread. It is however VERY good for just a beach holiday. The beach is amazing very big and everyone had dogs on leads. Apart from the things above everything else was great staff very friendly. Just think it's a little over priced for what it is.... The touring site has individual pitches, mostly separated by small hedges. Beautifully situated next to the lake. A really peaceful setting.
Good facilities elsewhere on the site. About a mile to Skipsea village, although there is a good daytime bus service during the season.... Read more

I have never been a caravan fan. The visit to Skipsea was to provide a quick break for our 3 year old Granddaughter. The van was clean and comfortable and our pitch was very quiet. The staff could not have done more for our Granddaughter who enjoyed herself immensely. The food on site was barely average at best and I cannot really recommend it. Overall a good value short break. I would recommend eating off site if you have the opportunity...... Read more

Stayed on touring park for 5 days. Booking must automatically assign a site number as we seemed to have the smallest pitch, no 12! As we have a 26ft twin axle caravan, it was difficult to get in, then when parked with awning attached, there was no room for car at side so we had to park sideways between caravan and road. There were plenty of other vacant plots where we could have got in easier and had more room! Even plots with tents on had more room!
Went to clubhouse to play bingo but could not play as we had no entertainment passes! We were never offered any when booking! Get your act together Skipsea!... Read more

Great holiday park, lovely clean facilities for camping, there were two wardens on site 24 hours a day. We were greeted by the wardens with a warm and friendly welcome when we arrived, and during our stay. A big Thank you to the wardens Lindsay and sorry forgot the other wardens name ????, for all your hard work keeping the facilities clean and being on call 24 hours a day, your both a credit to Skipsea sands. I highly recommend this park to all, and I can honestly say ignore the negative reviews, as you will have a great camping holiday, beautiful site. I was in a tent and never once heard anyone cutting through the pitches to visit the toilet, I was to busy having a fab holiday. We will definitely visit again ????... Read more

Would have given 5 stars but for the Leisure Team Manager. Booked 12 year old to do Bumper Zorbs only for it to be cancelled 2 minutes before scheduled time. Asked for refund was told unable to as it's over 48 hours. Manger kept looking at my Husband as if he was from outer space, needs some customer service training. Offered Karts, how can a 12 year old ride a Kart on his own, explained husband disabled and I have back problems. Offered crazy golf, again, play on his own. Eventually got the 3 of us to play crazy golf, well a bit of TLC needed there.
Otherwise a very clean site, friendly staff and the food from the restaurant was fantastic. The chippy van, the fish looked like was rock hard, no burgers or sausages. Ended up with chips and curry, was freezing.
Thought the arcades were a bit small. Shop was reasonably priced. Caravan was spacious until you get to the bedrooms, couldn't swing a cat in there. Didn't use the night entertainment so can't comment on that.
All in all was a good break but unfortunately won't be back.... Read more

Not hugely impressed by our overall experience, not sure if a lot of the problem was down to covid or not but when we arrived on Monday 31st June there wasn't very much food choice on the menu.
From Tuesday till Thursday the fish and chip shop in the car park was shut, the bar area was only serving 9.00hrs -14.00hrs and then 17.00 -21.00hrs, the sports bar wasn't serving until Thursday night and trying to get into the show bar was horrendous, having to queue from 16.30-17.30 when the doors opening, which meant we couldn't get an food before hand as it didn't open till 17.00hrs.
If you didn't queue at 16.30hr you had to wait till around 19.00hrs and queue again until there was room for you.
Our waste pipe burst on the shower and the last day our boiler went off so we couldn't get a shower before our 3.5hr trip home, I went to the reception at 8.30am to report but it didn't open till 9.00am so I text the number to report but heard nothing (hopefully its fixed before the next family arrive....
We also had a lack of water one night we were staying.
Certainly not going to rush back.... Read more

Swimming sessions was well organised and not busy. We booked pet friendly caravan as we have a dog.On arrival the carpets in bedrooms was full of dog hair from previous guests and kitchen/living area floor was filthy like it’s never been cleaned before. It is absolutely disgusting and not acceptable for the money we paid to stay there over the weekend. We even decided to leave a day earlier. Had a council estate feel to it. Would never come back.... Read more

Run run run, do not buy. Seriously tho, run whilst you've still got some money!
Response PDR's response......
There will never be right time to give away up to £100k for you to then, if you do choose, to be offered £40k and then to see it on sale n again for £90k when we decide to leave......
Speak to an owner, not pointed out but they sales consultants (it's their job to help you not sell to you ????) and maybe even 2.
If you can afford to lose 60-90% of your purchase price and the on going payments, which don't abide by NCC guidelines (not rules - they aren't an ombudsman they there to promote parks etc. ONLY not for you) then crack on.
If it isn't written down it's probably a lie... "I think" "from what I remember" they never just know....
We were luck as we only lost ~£12k but we did feel guilty selling private as I didn't give them this advice to them.... Read more
