Shocking customer service. Very difficult to get hold of when needed, even when in an emergency. Offered no help at all to solve issues with a flat I was renting and still haven't solved the problem now that I've left. Stay away from using them if you can.... Read more

Rented a property on Watkin Road as a student in 2019/20 and had the worst experience with Reliance Properties. Numerous times the estate agents claimed they couldn't contact the landlord. Arrived at the property that was unclean, had an abandoned car on the front that they couldn't move, had a water leak that cost £100s in bills, took them several months to finally contact the landlord to arrange the fix. Never refunded us the bill value. Do not use.... Read more

I want prospective tenants of Abbey House to be aware few issues. First, the agents does not always try to help you! My experience over 18 months with them was that their priority is ALWAYS MONEY NOT YOU! This means, for example, if you can pay the 6months or 12 months rent upfront, they will prioritise your application. When it comes to get refund of your deposit, they can be very very picky. During my final inspection, the agent was trying to complaint to me for some minor defects on the wall, which I did not do anything at all. If you need to rent a flat or house with this agent, make sure you have all the document and evidence you need in case you need a proof of them in future. Inventory list they provided was very trivial, and I had to take picture of all the flat and get it signed by the agent, which enabled me to get all my deposit. Please read their contract carefully- they typically do not allow roll up contract, but require you to renew your contract with at least 6months or 1 year contract. If you, for some reason, need CCTV recordings, beware that they can claim that cameras are not working or it is faulty. The engineers and mechanics they work with are not very professional in my opinion. Probably because they prefer to work with cheapest labour available. If you have a bike, and need to lock it in the bike shed near car park, there is no enough space and agent does not really bother to get rid of unattended bikes which I believe left there ages ago. Some parts of my bike were stolen, and they did not provided me CCTV recordings.... Read more

I'll start by saying our flat is cheap. River Soar Living is however a dump. Reliance Properties respond fast to certain problems and are always polite. It is unusual however that they truly don't seem to care about other issues...primarily the safety of the building and the carpark. The agency have misled all the residents here on this subject multiple times now and should be ashamed.... Read more

Property has many issues and we’ve only been here for 2 months. From floods to broken heaters and no electric. And communication between the realtors is unacceptable. It’s currently winter and we are staying a place with no heating. The apartment we stay in is also loud and would be useful with soundproofing as you can hear other people’s alarms. The apartment was not leaned when we arrived and there is mild within the shower and a leak... Read more

Stay away from this fraud agency Stay away from this fraud agency. In this pandemic time after loosing 2 weeks trying to rent a house from this agency and after being accepted the application and said that just in minutes i will recieve the contract to sign by email,they just call me next day and say that landlord found another person who is paying 12 months rent in same time so he will just let for that person and they dont give a damn for us like family waiting from 2 weeks for this property and after sending all the papers and being just treated on a way that never happened before. Shame on this agency. My advice to everybody just stay away and save your time and your money!... Read more

I rented a flat with reliance properties and agreed a date to move in, but due to their disorganisation I couldn't move in until 3 weeks later. I ended up having to sleep in a tent with my girlfriend around leicester until the flat was ready. Reliance didnt even apologise for the situation they left us in. There were numerous issues with the flat, including: broken guttering, broken extractor fans, broken sofa (that I wasnt allowed to bin unless I replaced it), no letterbox and many more problems. The lack of ventilation and broken guttering caused a massive black mould infestation, starting around 3 months before my contact ended. I kept telling them about this but was ignored. After 2 months of constant chest infections I had to move out as I couldn't live in that state anymore. Reliance are refusing to return my deposit as they want to charge me for the rest of my tenancy, even though I moved out due to the flat being uninhabitable, and causing severe health problems. Reliance properties are by far the worst estate agents I have ever rented through, and wouldnt wish them upon my worst enemy.... Read more

Poor estate agent. DO NOT RENT HERE. Charged full deep cleaning fees worth £75 even though we spent the whole of the last day cleaning and the place was left spotless. They will take advantage of students, beware of them.... Read more

Avoid at all costs, they literally have done nothing for 2 months about pests within the building area. First of all, my flat is accessible via a fire escape, no physical in building staircase. Pigeons have been causing a nuisance after burrowing into an enclosed fire escape and rats were spotted by tenants too. Nothing done by reliance to resolve this with the landlord, at my wits end. Avoid unless you want a living nightmare!... Read more

Really bad letting agents. ***PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS*** Through my year with them, didn't have a gardener sort the garden once (it is a shared block of flats, and I was told they regularly sent gardeners and cleaners to sort communal area). They were also rude whenever I contacted them after signing the contract, about anything related to the property (one guy, Elliott, was particularly rude, and would not accept phone calls from his assistant when I rung the office, even though I could hear him in the background slagging me off). These calls included fixing hazardous aspects, such as fire alarms not working in the block of flats (they are wired into the mains). It seemed as though after I had signed, they wanted nothing more to do with me other than my money. Really bad experience for me, and would recommend not using them.... Read more

I would definitely recommend Reliance Properties to those searching a new home. Our agent was Elliott Shaw and he offered us an accurate, kind and friendly service and guidance alongside the whole application process.
