On first impressions they came across as friendly professional people. Having paid for my new family vehicle, I managed to get less than ten miles down the road before it developed a misfire. I called the garage and they said to bring it back and they would have a look, after over an hour of standing around they said they had fixed the issue and sent me on my way again. I made it around 50/60 mile before the car started flashing low oil pressure and horrendous sounds started coming from the engine. with this now been the second issue in less than two hours, I called the garage and explained what had happened, The Manor of the owner immediately changed and he claimed that it was my fault and that I had apparently blown the car up. after much discussion I was informed they would collect the car, two days later it is still sat there. Couldn't be happier with the service and the whole process of buying my new car. John especially, was patient and allowed me to look around but let me know if I needed anything to just ask, other garages I went to were pushy, followed me about, wanted me to spend more than I could afford. This wasn't the case here. Having been unsure of the process of buying a car on my own, John took the time to explain everything to me and was patient and friendly throughout. Long story short, sold us a red astra convertible that developed a fault within days of purchasing he had the car in 3 times, the first time he just cleared the light off, then we called again and he gave me his word it would be fixed the week after or a refund will be given. The car was not fixed and he refused to give us a refund! We paid £1900 eventually he said the best he could do was £1500, we eventually managed to get £1700 back, a £200 loss to a fault that wasn’t our fault! £200 is a lot of money to lose in the space of 2 weeks! £200 to him is a drop in the ocean. The owner was arrogant and at times rude and certainly not a man of his word. Be warned....... Read more

I have recently bought a car from Shildon motors the service was outstanding the car I had originally purchased would not drive so John took it back tried to put the problem right but found after doing the work to it it still didn't drive, so took the car back as he could not and would not sell it to me. He then kept an eye out for a vechile of my choice that was in my price range and I had a list of features that I required whilst this was going on I had Shildon motors courtesy car for a month to six weeks, john kept in contact with me throughout with up dates, John is a truly honest man I would recommend everyone and anyone who is looking to purchase a car from him and his team. I can gaurentee I will be back in the future, John your first class gent.... Read more
