Sold my house through Snapes and was the worst experience I've ever had with an estate agent. Some members of staff were rude and abrasive. I often heard 'your buyers are under the impression' when queries were raised even though I had no such conversation with the buyers. It got to the stage where I wanted no contact with Snapes at all. One star because they did put the house on Rightmove.

It's been an absolute pleasure dealing with Snapes from start to finish. Julie has been an absolute star, kept me informed of what was going on with our purchase throughout, constantly chasing solicitors for us and trying to get information. We had an offer accepted initially for a house we were buying (first time buyers) so we were really excited and up until that point everything was okay service wise. We had the full homebuyers survey carried out on the house which came back saying it needed extensive work carrying out such as new windows and a full electrical re-wire. Also the property was advertised for a price a lot higher than what it was worth, something which the survey also confirmed. When I rang up asking to drop the price and explained what works needed doing (as described above) I was greeted with a response of “could you not have checked this when you first visited?” To which I responded explaining I am not a qualified building surveyor nor electrician and this is what the survey was for - I felt like I was explaining the home buying procedure to them. After my offer was submitted, within 10-15 minutes I got a call saying the seller wanted to put it back on the market straight away and when I asked if there was any leeway on the price I got told that it would sell for the asking price which was £20k more than what the surveyor found the house to be worth. Overall it seemed to me like they were only bothered about selling the house for as much money as possible and any negotiation from me was met with negativity and rudeness, almost like they could pull the wool over my eyes due to being a first time buyer. Wouldn’t recommend using this specific agency, and it would put me off a house I liked if they were the selling agency,

Everything that could go wrong with my house sale did!! It was one of the most stressful experiences I’ve ever gone through, but Lee and his wonderful team were there on hand; Julie (always calm and professional in the worst of storms), Janine (efficient and empathetic).
