I viewed a flat with the intention of buying it to rent out. We proceeded to purchase the flat but raised a query with Bridgefords, could they confirm that the flat can definitely be rented out. They confirmed it could. 15 weeks later, having spent £750 on solicitor and mortgage fees, the deeds to the flat state that it can't be sublet and the property management company will not waiver this clause.
Bridgefords advise that the seller told them it was ok to rent out, so the liability lies with the vendor. The vendor has no legal obligation to cover any of my costs incurred to date. Surely there should be more checks than a conversation with the seller to confirm what the deeds say!

This property was mis sold to me and Bridgefords have seen me out of pocket by £750

Very friendly and prepared to go above and beyond - Izzy and Mel, where able to push my home sale through even during this uncertain time (covid-29). They were also, responsible for finding tenants prior to when we decided to sell - and my home was rented each year - without a gap.

I would not recommend using them to rent a property from.The staff at Bridgfords, Stafford are unprofessional, lazy and unhelpful. They have been known to exploit their younger tenants, using the young tenants inexperience, to avoid doing what they are employed to do.

A tip for everyone - choose someone local who is not part of a big chain - save your time, and potentially your money.

From my personal experience.

Never join a big company! As they don't have that drive to sell your property and are prepared with a pack of lies enticing you to join them.

I wish I had gone to use someone else who is local and has excellent reviews.

Small local business do they best to insure they are happy and you are happy and always give their 100%

I am so frustrated that I had joined this company and that had wasted my time... Now this whole coronavirus situation is not going to help my house value. Thank you for wasting my time and ultimately costing me money.

Note: 18th January 2020 is when we first made contact. Their online advertisement of our property was full of errors which took them a long long time. Communication was also bad in relation to potential viewers, We were also constantly chasing for updates.
