We placed a deposit to reserve one of the plots on the Stamford Manor estate. We were looking to relocate from London to be closer to family. The initial sales pitch was fine, we were shown The Stamford show home which was presentable and well furnished. Once the deposit had been paid the the paperwork drawn up the whole situation and approach changed. Suddenly we had to chase them for any contact, the service level dropped to a standard well below that of being acceptable. We continued with the purchase and visited our home whilst being built. Because of this we got to see the house 'going up' and started to worry about the 'workmanship' or lack of it. The quality looked poor, the material used cheap and we started to feel that despite decent discount on the list price... we were getting a sub standard build from a sub stand company. After much deliberation and back and forth we decided to pull out of the purchase. It took multiple weeks and emails to the directors of TW to get our money back but we did in the end. In short my wife and I found TW to be a poorly run company, looking to keep costs low and at the expense of the customer.... out advice - don't but a home made or marketed from Taylor Wimpey. You can do much better!... Read more

First of all they didn’t fit my boiler properly or my neighbours boiler! I mean fair play sometimes people make Errors but twice in the same building?! I hadn’t long moved in and they had to come and tighten the gas pipe because there was a leak, the kitchen cupboard has fallen off and bits keep falling off the other ones! Also the kitchen work top is coming away from the wall and walls seem to have been made with sand and wood with a little paint! Where are they getting builders from?! You’re building houses not Lego! Although I wouldn’t let the builders that attempted to build this house with normal Lego I would maybe start them off with Lego duplo!... Read more

Lovely house and great area BUT unfortunately, we had one unhelpful member of sales staff which made our buying experience painful and post-sale customer service was poor. TW tried to slide out of all snags but more importantly lied about resolving a roof tile issue to get us to complete, even though we had written proof that they had lied about the issue they just told us to go to the NHBC if we didn’t like it. We were then presented with a 45-page document…… Great customer care!!!!... Read more
