Our experience with Newton Fallowell Stamford branch has been terrible. Appalling communication; firstly, my partner and I booked to view 2 properties with Zoe, but we never received any confirmation emails, were not sent the addresses of each property and were not even told which house to meet them at first! As it turns out, they had my partners email address wrong, so he phoned them to correct it (more than once!) and yet still it was not corrected! When we met Zoe at the property, she was very unenthusiastic, barely spoke to us, and answered most questions with a 'yeah' or 'I dunno'. No contact after this first viewing to see how we got on (although, they still probably had not used our correct email address despite us telling them). A few weeks later, we saw another 2 properties we would like to see, both with Newton Fallowell again (unfortunately). After calling and booking the viewing for one after the other for 12.30pm today, I again received no confirmation and no details of which property to go to first. I called them the day before to enquire about this, and also I had seen that one of the properties had come off the market, which we had also not been told. I was informed by Zoe that they had emailed the details to my partner, AGAIN to the wrong email address, and she said she would meet us at the one remaining property at 1pm. I stressed that we could only do a viewing at 12.30pm (as we had previously arranged), as we had another property to see afterwards. After what seemed like a lot of effort, it was agreed that the viewing would be at 12.30pm. My partner and I sat outside the property until approx. 12.40pm-12.45pm, and NOBODY TURNED UP. No phone call to say they were running late, no apology, no nothing. Eventually we had to leave so that we were not late for our next viewing.
I feel that our entire experience with Newton Fallowell Stamford has been completely unacceptable, and we were made to feel completely unimportant as buyers by such unprofessional behaviour. We will not be using Newton Fallowell again in the future, and shall be advising others to do the same. Extremely disappointing.
I chose Moores to sell my property because of their local knowledge and national reach. They kept me informed regarding the sale of my home at every step and I believe that they achieved a price that was acceptable to both me and the purchaser. An excellent service and, most importantly, a service that achieved an appropriate sale price. Highly recommended!
Appalling service from Moores, stay as far away from them as possible. Incredibly shady business practices and are now going out of their way to make it difficult to sell my flat. I was trying to sell my flat with them tenanted, however on a number of occasions they took non-buy to let investors round and even went as far as telling my tenants they could be removed at 2 months notice and they don't have a choice in the matter without any sort of prior discussion with myself. Often late for viewings if they showed up at all and in some cases, cancelled viewings without informing my tenants.
Having now moved my property to another estate agent, Moores have now placed a "Sold STC" sign outside my property despite the fact it was never sold and are refusing to remove the property from Rightmove which is causing confusion for potential buyers. I have reported them to the ombudsman who I hope will take action.
Sowden Wallis are by far the best estate agent myself and my wife have dealt with. Excellent, friendly and honest service. Very responsive throughout our transaction which made things so much easier for us. A special mention to Sarah who could not have been more helpful. A really outstanding customer service. We could not recommend them highly enough. These guys deserve all the success they get.
They work for the landlord, not the tenant.
We rented from them for a year, we had leaks, boiler problems, central heating problems, none of the issues were resolved for the entire year's duration.
In an amusing turn of events, they didn't renew our tenancy due to the landlord wanting to sell the property, and we had to fight like hell to not be evicted at christmas... Almost a year on, it's still for sale.
Friendly, warm and hugely knowledgeable staff, our experience with Sellicks at Oakham was top class from start to finish. Our chain was by no means simple, and Caroline worked tirelessly to resolve any issues. Fantastic Service from Caroline and Henry, Highly recommended. Thank you!
I contacted James Sellicks after a recommendation from a friend. I had a very unique house to sell and I have to say that I found Sellicks very honest and straight forward. No viewings were a waste of time, the feedback was detailed and they had located a buyer within a matter of days. The whole selling process was a breeze and no questions too much bother. I will be using James Sellicks again when I come to sell in the future.
