Absolutely terrible agents. Purely money orientated boss and assistant Rodrigo and Ana who lack professionalism and respect, very expensive also for what they offer. Stay clear.... Read more

Former tenant at one of their central london properties for over a year (Hampstead Rd, Euston). Overall poor experience with both the property and their customer relationship dealings. From a landlord perspective, they will push to obtain your rent dues but any repairs on the property will be half arsed (poor floor tile repairs, repainting of bathroom ceilings to conceal mould rather than fixing exhaust fan, missed cleaner appointments). Further word of caution to tenants is for you to keep a record of your executed rental agreements, deposit, rent paid to date and owed amounts at end of lease as Uptown will attempt to coerce you into paying additional rent when they actually owe you your deposit bond. To John and Leo, I hope you guys sort out your operations because my experience with your business was terrible.... Read more

I stayed in a property for a month without a contract from the landlord and didn’t have any lock on my door. There was no WiFi, the rules changed when the landlady felt like it and when it suited her she would refer to the contract. I requested for there to be a lock put on my door and was told that no one was going to go into my room, despite the land lady telling me that someone was going to be moving in. The landlady initially told me locks would be fitted during my first weeks stay, which were not, this was delayed as was the WiFi. The excuses for this continued as the landlady would pretend that these things would be resolved soon. After waiting and expressing my concern for my belongings I was ignored and told she would “look into it” before I decided that my equipment worth over £10,000 was simply not safe in the property. The front lock jammed and the land lady pretended to have a locksmith come and look at it, despite me discussing this with the “manager” who said an issue hadn’t been reported. The house was situated on the second floor and I was unable to leave the property after 5 hours until the landlady came home, despite me telling her that I had been trapped inside. This of course was a fire hazard. I moved out, as I was instructed by a lawyer that I had no contract and anything could happen within that agreement that I wouldn’t be covered for. I left the room a day before my rent was due for the following month after paying for my rent and admin fees despite my employers never being contacted. Once I left the landlady demanded that I pay her a months rent and stated that failure to do so would mean I would be issued a CCJ. Completely unprofessional- the landlady was extremely rude to me and kept breaching her own contract that she gave me despite expressing that she needed to give me another one. I requested a new one and for locks to be changed before I would stay in the property, she spend hours going back and forth with me via WhatsApp and didn’t send me a new contract as she said she would. The landlady told me if I smoked in the property that my tenancy would be immediately terminated despite smoking in the kitchen every single day. She even left the windows open whilst she went to sleep and to work. The house was offered to me on the understanding that it would be an all female house and then the land lady suggested moving a couple in. I expressed how uncomfortable that would make me and was told that unless “we” found tenants that they would be moving in. I have now decided to make this a legal matter as I had to move twice in the space of 4 weeks due to the in professionalism of this place. I spent loads of money and tried to work with this company but they are just completely unethical. I would suggest avoiding this place. Even 1 star is far too generous.... Read more

Avoid using this agent at all costs! They will are letting out houses that are not up the legal standard. They will continue to overcrowd houses with no HMO licence, regard to the maintance and the general wellbeing of the tenants. I had a broken water pipe in my kitchen leaking water into light fixtures for three years. a boiler that regularly broke, and 12 people between two bathrooms, one washing machine and dryer. The agent that I dealt with was a nice person, but the general agency is bad and misleading. I checked out and filed forms out as an agreement to check out, yet I'm receiving unprofessional emails from them saying that I need to pay rent, when somebody else is living there, I thought it was spam, but happened again and there is a lack of attention to detail. If that hadn't happened I would tolerate the other things but wouldn't do it again, and advise to stay away.... Read more

This is not an agency who would manage the property. Those people who sit in the office NEVER solve ANY problem in the house. They ALWAYS JUST SAYING “WE WILL sort it out” but reality is NEVER ! They don’t know how to manage the property and how to communicate with their tenants. They just care about money, steal your deposit and in the end they don’t pay bills for Internet, they don’t pay a rent to landlord and they will just put you into big troubles with a final decision to take you to the court. Never rent out from them.... Read more

The most disgraceful company I never deal with. 1 In terms of staff services they never pick up the phone. 2 The cleaners haven't come for 2 months now. ( but I paid for it ) 3 The heater never works in my proprety, I have complained 13 times ( I counted ) Still no change. Now we in winter, my room is cold and I have been ill because of it. They do not care about the tenants. But when It comes to complain they would be the first coming. 4 The elecricity shut Down 2 days ago, I tried to contact them by phone but obviously, they haven't pick up the phone. I went to their office to complain about it and they say that they would send somebody the next day. It has been 3 days now and nobody came. So I do had to shower at my university and stay in the darkness for 3 days. NO HEATER, NO ELECTRICITY, NO CLEANER, COLD SHOWER ???? This is the most disgraceful and disrepectful agency I never deal with. I am definitly moving at the end of this months. I wouldn't recommand this proprety to anyone.... and I do not believe in any of these positive comment, these are probably fake account. Because as I can see Uptown Proprety has a really bad reputation in north west London.... Read more

Absolute worst company I have ever dealt with!!!!! Incredibly unprofessional and surprised they haven't been shut down, I could write an entire book on how awful they have been and treated myself and the other tenants. The staff are incredibly inconsistent and unhelpful , and the turnover of staff has been through the roof over the last couple of months as it's never the same person you deal with. If anyone wishes to message me I can advise you further as I wouldn't want anyone else to have the same horrendous experience. Towards the end of my tenancy one team member who was helpful was Camila and I'm incredibly thankful for her being there. A couple of things to mention: 1. The deposits aren't protected , unless you pay them to?! Which is illegal. 2. If you ring the office nobody will ever give you a straight answer , tell you the person you need to speak to is unavailable (but can't tell you a time they are), or the line is engaged most likely with other tenants complaining. 3. We had a leak from the bathroom about three times , it was pretty bad and leaked all over our kitchen , work surfaces , electrics etc however nothing ever got done about it and it's continued for a couple of months. 4. The boiler packed in every couple of weeks and never got replaced. 5. Work people would turn up unannounced , no ID and not able to communicate properly with us . We were only given 24hours notice when it suited them but most the time we never knew who was in the house. 6. When we moved in during summer a couple of the radiators would not turn off so it was boiling hot in the house and this didn't get resolved for a couple of weeks. 7. Whenever we bought up issues we had with the house some of the tenants were told "if we don't like it then we can leave ". 8. When I left one of the staffs "friends" moved into my old room by just paying cash for a weeks stay?!? Definitely not legal at all. This person caused lots of problems during there stay , stole things and left the house in a state. 9. When I left I was sent an email asking for overdue rent, then rung by a person I've never dealt with to ask me where the key is for the room? I paid all my rent on time, left the key in the room as I was asked ,and somebody else "the friend of the staff member " had already moved in by then. My room didn't even get checked before the person moved in. 10. The staff have no clue what's going on and really need to communicate more to improve.... Read more
