Why was my review removed due to honesty? Wakefield are a terrible rent company. The landlord has a lot more competence than any of you. Asked for a repair through the suggested line heard nothing back, tried again and took two months for you to get back to me! Wakefield Giles was recommended to me by a family member and they did not disappoint. As a first time seller, I needed someone to guide me through the process, not only helping with my sale but with my purchase too! Wakefield Giles did just that. Julie, Russell and the team went above and beyond to ensure I was kept up to date at every opportunity and no question was too silly! I never normally review, however I felt so strongly on their amazing service and dedication to their clients, I needed to share with everyone else! My dad has been using Wakefield Giles for the last few years for property sales and lettings. My dad has a portfolio of properties and has used more agents than you can imagine! The experience with Wakefield Giles has been brilliant. The communication has always been polite and updates are provided a number of times a week. The photos and the details are always perfect and they have top notch negotiation skills to always get us the best price. We are Appliance service and repair contractors to Wakefield Giles and have been for many years. Obviously I get to see the properties, meet the tenants and sometimes meet landlords. The tenants that I have met have always been happy with the services offered by Wakefield Giles. Any problems are usually dealt with promptly. When we attend agency properties the tenants are usually quick to tell us about their gripes with agents or landlords if they have problems, but I have to say I don’t recall ever hearing any complaints about Wakefield Giles. ... Happy Tenants. As contractors we regard Wakefield Giles as being one of the better agencies… Quick to contact us to make an appointment for remedial work involving appliance repair or replacement. On completion payment is always settled on time and we never have to chase outstanding bills . From our standpoint and from our dealings with tenants of Wakefield Giles I would highly recommend this company both to contractors and two tenants and landlords .... Read more

Highly untrustworthy. They do not pay contractors for works they have requested and quotes they have accepted. All emails ignored and phone call not returned. Very underhand and unprofessional, avoid at all costs. EDIT AFTER REPLY (Which they have now deleted): Despite promises of payment for work they have asked us to carry out we are still left waiting. Wakefiled Giles have robbed us of time we could have spent doing paying work for honest customers. Have a serious think before deciding to engage in business with an outfit as dishonest and deceitful as this.... Read more

TOTALLY INCOMPETENT. AVOID THIS SO CALLED ’ESTATE AGENT’ AT ALL COSTS. I put my house on the market with Wakefield Giles in 2018 and accepted an offer from what I was told was a cash buyer. Clearly no one at Wakefield Giles carried out any checks on the buyer’s proof of funds (According to the Property Ombudsman Code of Practice, all estate agents must take reasonable steps to find out how a buyer will pay for a property when they make an offer). Over the next six months the cash buyer became a cash buyer who needed a small mortgage then someone who needed her parents to remortgage their own home.The buyer’s survey on my property, which had been ‘imminent’ in February, still hadn’t happened by August. All this time I was encouraged by Wakefield Giles to persevere with my ‘dream buyer’ despite a complete lack of any progress. In the meantime I had an offer accepted on a property I wanted to buy, paid for searches, survey etc only for the purchase to fall through due to the problems with my own sale. Wakefield Giles wasted a lot of my time and money, neither of which I could afford. It should come as no surprise that Wakefield Giles’ Kidsgrove branch has now been closed. P.S. Don’t pay too much attention to Wakefield Giles positive feedback here. At least one five star review is by one of their own employees and another is by her partner! If you're looking for an estate agent you can trust then you really need to look somewhere else.... Read more

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The staff that I dealt with throughout the process were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Very rude very snotty think they are above the law. Julie amison seems to think she is some kind of soliciter. Likes to look down her nose at people she dosent even know on a personal level. So if I could give 0 stars I would. I recommend people to give this place a wide birth. Fees are shocking. Service is shocking. Unprofessional. Did my landlord pay you a fee for your services?? Yes my landlord was a conman who's business you interfiered with when my property wasnt even let out by your company as I have no documents with a wet signature from on yet tried to con thousands of pounds after I was paying him cash in his hand. As his friend if he told you the pen was red even tho you knew it was blue the pen would still be red to you. You don't know me and I don't know you and all you have gone off is hearsay from the landlord no reciepts nothing just a bunch of numbers conjured up of the top of his head!!!! very unprofessional!!!...
