We sold mum's house recently, through the Billingham branch. I have to say it's the best experience I've ever had with an estate agent. As the house was unoccupied all of the viewings were handled by the staff at Billingham, very professionally, we were updated on progress throughout the process and any request from us was never too much trouble. I particularly liked the personal touch, lacking from other estate agents I've used in the past. On top of all that the fee was very reasonable given the service we received.
Ashley was amazing, honestly can’t say enough good things about this lady. Friendly , efficient, nothing is to much trouble . Re: Middlesbrough Office - Although presented well on line and in the brochure, we do feel that our house was overpriced at the start, perhaps to win our business, but in effect wasting nearly 3 months taking us into a time of the year when seasonally people just aren’t thinking about buying houses and moving. The crucial first week was wasted because regular staff were away and those standing in claimed to know nothing, that they were “just answering the phone”. For a few weeks after this, the office staff were appalling in communicating but one of them did improve and put in effort after our complaint to the office manager about his staff. They failed in their promises of accompanied viewings and told lies too, claiming to us that one viewer wished to wait over a week to view (lie), telling the viewer we were on holiday (lie) and couldn’t do the viewing - when in fact it was Michael Poole’s that couldn’t fit in a company viewing for over a week ! As it happened a further breakdown in communication occurred in that the expected company viewer didn’t turn up when we were expecting him to and we had to return to do it ourselves. A member of staff told us that they didn’t email or call people round to try sell any specific house, our house would just be emailed out as part of a mail drop with a whole list of others. We were advised that really it was just a case of “sitting waiting for Rightmove” to do their job. We thought that really, it was a bit of a cheek to charge us 1% plus VAT if all they were going to do was put it on Rightmove for us and wait ! We could do that for much less ourselves, put the house on Rightmove with an on line agency and cut out the middle man. So overall a huge disappointment for us.
Sometimes a seller comes along who just finds it hard to let go of their home no matter how important it is to do just that. I was such a client. I caused all the lovely girls at the Nunthorpe branch quite a few headaches but their kindness and professional attitude helped me through to the end. I can't thank them enough . Highly rccommended by a very satisfied client
