Worst letting agency in Scotland We rented a flat from countrywide and from entering the flat to leaving it was a very bad and stressful experience. From the start their communication was awful and they would have no urgency to get back to you or they often just ignored emails. When the flat above us had a burst pipe we reported it right away and included pictures of the water coming through our roof. We never heard back from Countrywide about repairing the water damage, despite leaving an email and number. Black mould soon grew after which we had to deal with. When my partner moved in he provided a month notice before and provided everything required for a tenancy agreement to be written. Every other letting agency I have been with had the tenancy agreement ready and signed before moving in, but not Countrywide. For the months we lived in that flat there was no tenancy agreement written with him in it, despite emailing multiple times. When we left we had no evidence that he lived in that flat and could not get a reference from Countrywide since he didn't 'live' in the flat despite paying the rent. When we decided to leave it took 4 months to get our deposit back. This is because we discovered that the deposit was never updated with any of our names, even though I had signed a tenancy agreement, so had to go through the previous tenant to get our money. When trying to get the help from countrywide to get our deposit back we were told by Jennifer Brown and Paula Neeson that they could not help and it wasn't their job and soon after started ignoring all my emails asking for help. I would just recommend to stay away from properties that are rented out by Countrywide as it's not worth the stress.... Read more

As a first timer in the UK, I felt cheated after getting a house with Countrywide. Right from renting till ending the tenancy and deposit release the service was pathetic. I am from a customer service background myself and this is definitely not what I will give to clients. Totally wasted my time and money. Try to avoid this agency to keep your peace of mind.... I have been dealing with Hannah she has been excellent at keeping in touch, letting me know how things are going and giving advice my property was vacated sooner than we thought so I was in a bit of a panic, I spoke to Craig who assured that market is still buoyant and not to worry from there as I have said I was dealing with Hannah absolutely knows her stuff helpful friendly great communicator just what I need as I do need a bit of hand holding I am still quite new to all of this 100% service...
