Unfortunately I’ve had a very bad experience with Anderson’s letting agent. I was a tenant for two years - any issues with the property I went straight to the landlord so never had much to do with Anderson’s until my two year tenancy ended. My contract finished end of August with the last payment for rent being end of July. A month after my contract ended with Anderson’s I get an email about arrears and threatening further action for unpaid rent - which is completely unacceptable and a distressing email to receive when I have paid my rent always on time with a standing order in place for two years. We spoke to Anderson’s straight away regarding this - there was no apologies or empathy from their point of view regarding this mistake and they came across frankly unbothered even though I had found it quite distressing. We then had to contact them about them returning the deposit - my landlord emailed in to confirm I should receive the deposit back. It has been almost two months and I have not received the deposit. We have chased Anderson’s, both over the phone and going in face to face at least four times regarding this deposit. It is completely unacceptable. I don’t ever write bad reviews regarding businesses (please check my profile if you wish) but I felt compelled to write about my experience to warn others and also as a last resort after still not receiving my deposit back even after multiple efforts at chasing. My landlord has now stopped using Anderson’s due to issues from his point of view - now there is no money involved - it comes across that they frankly don’t care about returning my deposit or taking care of their tenants... Discriminating against people who have a low income. I had a guarantor for a property who earned double the annual amount required and it still wasn’t good enough. I will be going to the papers about how I have been treated - it is disgusting. The reason I work part time is because I’m studying to become a midwife. * Annual income required * is a loophole these letting agencies have found so they don’t have to rent to people who aren’t LOADED. I had everything needed to let a property and it still wasn’t good enough. Because they don’t want to let to people who don’t earn thousands a month. Ridiculous. You will see the article soon as I am going to the papers and my local MP.... Read more
