The team at Theydons handled the sale of our house very professionally. They provided excellent advice from valuation right through to negotiating a final price with our buyers. They provided a great service with regular communication, and in particular we would highlight the professional support provided throughout to us by James and Taryn. We have advertised or bought through several different estate agents in recent years, and this was our most positive experience so far. Would highly recommend Theydons.
Although most of the staff were really lovely and helpful at Theydons, the experience was ruined by Andy, the manager. A really unpleasant man who didn't respect us at all. He pulled the classic dodgy letting agent trick of taking money from us for not having cleaned the place properly, although we left the flat much cleaner than the state it was in when we moved there.
When he was at our flat he would only speak to me, and referred to my flatmate (we rented the place together for the whole period) as "your friend", which felt extremely disrespectful, we can only guess it was because she looked younger. We correctly predicted precisely what he would try to get away with at the end of our tenancy. The inventory was done long before we moved in and didn't address any of the areas that he claimed were problem areas when we were moving out, which knowing my rights now, I would never have accepted again. Leytonstone is a nice area to live in, but I would avoid Theydons as long as that man works there.
Elaine & Adam patiently answered my questions and made our move to new rented home a very smooth process. I'd highly recommend them. Thanks for everything, guys.
At first I thought what a great team.. I found a property and made contact on a Thursday.. said I wanted to arrange viewing but was toldtold to staff holiday it wasn't possible until the following week. They advise I call the next day and make an arrangement. I tried both friday and saturday too leaving voicemails and messages with sales team. No responses back.. I call Monday morning to be told the flat was gone.. waste of time and I hope this review makes people think twice before calling this particular branch. Be grateful I can't put 0 stars! No point in emailing sir. Your sales team made it perfectly clear my custom wasn't wanted. Next time I'll use an English name and see if it makes a difference. Cos the phone manner was shocking soon as I said patel.
My boyfriend and I recently rented a house through PS&P. The whole process was quick and very transparent. Communication with maintenance appears to be very easy and so far we are very pleased with our new house and the agency. Many thanks to Tracey, Stella and Julie for their efforts.
After showing interest in an apartment in Snaresbrook and arranging a viewing by phone, I received an email confirming the address and time for the viewing. As it turned out, I was given the wrong postcode and therefore arrived at the wrong address, a 20 minute walk away from where the property was actually located. I received a call from Du Preez Botha who asked me where I was and, after explaining to him that he had indeed given me the wrong postcode he said "well I had the same postcode as you and have never been here before myself and I've managed to find it". Although I should have checked the name of the road itself as well as the postcode, I did only use the postcode as I was using my google maps app. Estate agents are by nature rather arrogant people who know the rental market well, they have a lot of interest in each property. Having said this, if a mistake is made on one's part, one should accept this, not blame the client. He did apologise, although this didn't feel too sincere. I also work in a very busy office where I am responsible for providing addresses to clients. So a word of advice from me would be to: A. double check both the number / name and street name and B. make sure the postcode provided to a potential client matches the address. In this way the time wasted for both parties will be avoided.
James is a extremely professional real estate agent. I have recommended Lawlors to my two other friends who are looking to buy in the same area. James - you've been a star! - Thank you for your help during my purchase. You really made the whole process stress free for me and my husband. We are very thankful for that. I would also like to thank Chris for his support and professionalism while James was away from office.
Would love to give these immoral, rip off merchants 0 stars. They charged £550 admin fee the highest in greater London, ignore emails, take weeks to get back to you, lie about everything. My advice stay week away as a landlord tenant.
John D wood lettings agents helped myself to find a flat to rent, and I believe they went out of their way to help me secure the flat, particularly Rosemary who was always more then helpful and super accommodating to my situation. I couldn't be happier to have dealt with them.
An absolute dissapoontment! Very good at locking ur money away but not providing ant security at all. They’ve reassure us all will be ready after triple checking and explaining that we have to leave in hollidays, made us pack the house, 1 hour left to sign the contract and get hold of the keys they say landlord decided otherwise. A day before that landlord was all “happy and ready” as per Joe’s speech. All references checked all was fine, no protection at all for tenants , puttinf people at risk of dropping other houses and ending up on streets!
James was a brilliant help in helping us purchase in South Woodford. He navigated timezones as the owner was based mainly out of the country, he kept us updated and assisted both parties through some tough negotiations and always made himself available even when he was on annual leave during the final crucial stage of exchange. The property we were purchasing required extensive renovation work and he was so flexible in allowing us to visit more than once to take in the scope of the work so we were better prepared upon completion. We would definitely recommend James in the future and we are grateful for all of his hard work
