Just contacted Bluedoor Lettings Abingdon as they looked after a property for me, like it was their own from early 2006. Sad to hear Greg has closed the lettings busines. I think he was a bit ahead of his time as my tenants were very happy with the service as he charged no fees to renew to them or me! Thankfully he found me such good tenants last change that, with his help at the end of the phone I will look after the property myself until they wish to leave. Then I will call Greg and ask him to sell it for me. Greg did say he is re training as a Chartered Surveyor in Milton Keynes so I wish him well. Hope business will pick up for him. Sadly with the current state of affairs small landlords like myself are always attacked or fleeced by franchised agents. Keep in touch. B.... Read more

After four months we just received our deposit because bluedoor did not answer to deposit protection company. Our landlord was very upset to because never can reach them and never answer for messages. I can say i'm not a complainer and this is my first on google but this company really pissed me off. Yes they make mistakes but they are a small local company. Always give good advice even when it makes them no money. Just informed me that my agreement with my tenants can continue and go periodic. So unlike my last company no money for old rope here. Love a human company. Not a franchise to copy a corporate. Also recommended them on a sale of a flat and Greg only charged them £1350 including the vat! On a £200k place. Brilliant.... Read more

Been a letting agent of mine for some time. Small firm basically a one man band run by Greg who also makes the tea and cleans the toilets. He hasn't done much to expand the business since 2011 as his father passed away suddenly and then his mum was ill with a terminal illness she has now passed away. He re opened to new customers in 2015 only added top quality homes and has since told me that the lettings market is so cut throat in Abingdon that his has moved into sales as most of his landlords are old and wanting to sell their properties to retire. As most have been with him from the start in 2005. I is a shame that small firms that give people a choice are so often attacked. Companies have to start and customers have a choice. I wanted to write this review as I was prompted by one written by Dave Smit (below) I knowing ,Greg and Bluedoor know this must be a nasty troll. I also wouldn't mind betting it's untrue as if you ever chatted to Greg you would know he will tell you everything good and bad. Fantastic company hope sales will pick up.... Read more

I let my flat through Bluedoor, a small company ran by Greg and his wife for around three years. For the most part it was fine, predominantly because they only had to pick up a monthly cut of the rent. Due to a change in circumstances (moving in with my girlfriend) I decided to move back into my flat. I informed Bluedoor three months in advance of my plans, directly discussing the relevant process with them and mutually agreeing a date for the move. Assured the process would be wholly managed by Bluedoor, I allowed them to finally earn their money. A few days before the big return, having given notice on my other place and packed up my belongings I called Bluedoor to settle up my account. I was told rather sheepishly that Bluedoor had FORGOTTEN TO GIVE NOTICE TO MY TENNANT!!!!! As such I would not be able to move back into my property as arranged. At this point I would have expected a reaction to what is clearly a glaring mistake but Bluedoor did nothing to remedy the situation, even attempting to pass the buck, despite the existence of dated e mail's sent following telephone conversations that had been acknowledged by Greg personally! The situation went from bad to comical when following my reaction to this news I received an e mail from Greg's wife saying I had 'really upset him' by telling him what I thought of his incompetence. I was indeed quite upset with Bluedoor as thanks to their incompetence my girlfriend and I, having given notice on our respective places, were quite genuinely on the verge of becoming homeless! The situation was only remedied when I rearranged everything with the Tennant myself, totally cutting Bluedoor out the loop. It was quicker and easier without them. I have since re- let my flat through a different independent Abingdon lettings company. Similar in price to Bluedoor, they have been flawless and far more personable. My advice - shop around and avoid these people. Do not let them anywhere near your property! They are cheap, but when you need them to do anything other than pick up thier cheque can you really rely on them?... Read more

Whilst letting a property overseen by Blue Door, Greg has been an outstanding agent, accommodating an accidentally late initial arrival at the property, and remains constantly available via SMS to respond to all our questions about the property and the terms of our tenancy.
