Over 15 years ago, Mark Charlton and Lee Grace identified an opportunity within the property industry to create a truly independent and professional estate agency, built on family values of honesty, support and trust.
Basingstoke & Hartley Wintney were the natural choices to base their sales & lettings operation, both having worked in the area for other corporate agencies since 1987 & 1995 respectively.
Fast forward to today and this outstanding agency still holds those values closer than ever; with two close friends guiding the direction, growth and culture of the firm.
Charlton Grace is a member of The Property Ombudsman. The Property Ombudsman code of practice is approved by the Trading Standards Institute. The Trading Standards Institute has approved the code of practice we follow, which is run by The Property Ombudsman.

Mark and Adie were excellent when we sold our home in Kempshott. Very supportive, communicative and informative without any of the nonsense that sometimes gets attributed to Estate Agents. I would use them again without a moment's hesitation. The mortgage advisor, John, was also excellent and made some superb recommendations.

I found the whole experience from start to finish to be excellent. The guys were really friendly all the way through, from the initial valuation of my house to dealing with the viewings and offers, and then onto seeing the after sale side of things through. There were other agents in the process that left us less than impressed, and to be honest, treated us unprofessionally, but Mark and Ade in the Basingstoke office reassured us, chased solicitors and saw the sale through brilliantly. Would definitely recommend them again to anyone that asked. Thank you!

Mark & Ade kept us informed throughout the process of our buy to let purchase and Michele found lovely tenants and continues to manage the property on our behalf.

Were ok when buying a house, great for a while after (as we had two flats let through them).
Totally awful at selling. Pushy and demanding on acceptance of very poor offers well below their valuation. Expected us as vendors to show buyers around property, half of whom were tyre kickers. Poor vetting, rude and unprofessional.
As letting agent inefficient, lack basic customer service and communication skills to the point I’ll be selling my letting property as soon as possible.
I would give a zero.

Not helpful at all. They are the agent who rent out a house next door to me and won't help with a problem I have. Have called to speak to them about problem and they were not very interested or helpful. Said they would look into it but 2weeks later they still hadn't got back to me. Called them again asking to complain and speak to someone else but they just got the same person to call me. Very poor customer services. Think that fobbing me off is going to get me to go away but they are very mistaken. I am not going away so think it would be good if someone in charge of the branch called me back. Joke that I have to give this 1 star in order to post this. I would give them minus stars for customer service

Royally screwed us over on the check out of rented. Took twice the time that they said and that we paid for and then claimed extra cleaning was needed when we left it cleaner than we found it. Hard to get hold of too!

I'm seeing this other review by daftmedic1 and it feels like they are talking about a different agency. I have been really impressed with the service and attitude of all the staff I've been involved with at Charlton Grace in Basingstoke.
Without any marketing, we had 4 viewings and 2 2nd viewings. Charlton Grace handled all the viewings for us and we ended up selling the property at only a little under the asking price. Other properties of a similar type were originally advertised at a lower price and have since had to drop their price by quite a lot.
We sold our house 2 weeks ago and moved into a rented property, which Charlton Grace also helped us find.
I won't say that everything was perfect - it wouldn't be a fair review if I did. However, the last time I sold a house was with another agency and they told us to drop the price before we'd even marketed it. Charlton Grace, by comparison, were pretty accurate in their evaluation, they were good in giving us feedback on any viewings and kept us informed during the sale process.
I will use them again when we buy our next house and we are recommending them to friends.

This is not how I or anyone should be spoken too.
