About Charlton Grace - Basingstoke

Over 15 years ago, Mark Charlton and Lee Grace identified an opportunity within the property industry to create a truly independent and professional estate agency, built on family values of honesty, support and trust.

Basingstoke & Hartley Wintney were the natural choices to base their sales & lettings operation, both having worked in the area for other corporate agencies since 1987 & 1995 respectively.

Fast forward to today and this outstanding agency still holds those values closer than ever; with two close friends guiding the direction, growth and culture of the firm.

Charlton Grace is a member of The Property Ombudsman. The Property Ombudsman code of practice is approved by the Trading Standards Institute. The Trading Standards Institute has approved the code of practice we follow, which is run by The Property Ombudsman.

I found the whole experience from start to finish to be excellent. The guys were really friendly all the way through, from the initial valuation of my house to dealing with the viewings and offers, and then onto seeing the after sale side of things through. There were other agents in the process that left us less than impressed, and to be honest, treated us unprofessionally, but Mark and Ade in the Basingstoke office reassured us, chased solicitors and saw the sale through brilliantly. Would definitely recommend them again to anyone that asked. Thank you!

Were ok when buying a house, great for a while after (as we had two flats let through them).

Totally awful at selling. Pushy and demanding on acceptance of very poor offers well below their valuation. Expected us as vendors to show buyers around property, half of whom were tyre kickers. Poor vetting, rude and unprofessional.

As letting agent inefficient, lack basic customer service and communication skills to the point I’ll be selling my letting property as soon as possible.

I would give a zero.
