Please be aware, whilst a beautiful setting in the summer, Yarwell Mill is right on the banks of the river Nene and can be subject to quite severe flooding. These pictures were taken 3 days after it had rained after Christmas 2020. The other side of the road with the chalets on was much deeper and many of the permanent residents homes were standing in several feet of water. They are sited on stilts, which are cladded and which do look to have kept the fabric of the buildings out of the water, but those residents who'd not been able to move their cars above the flood water were affected and you can see how seriously affected the permanently pitched touring caravans were. I just felt so very sorry for these folks.... Read more

A weekend away for my wife's birthday.
Our pitch was number 1,the pitch was very rutted and overgrown right next to the massive building work that is going on.
The toilet area is inadequate for the size of the site.
The Elsan toilet disposal point is disgusting, the smell and primitive emptying is beyond belief.
The washing up area is a wooden type of shack, again dirty.
The water point is green and not very inviting.
Don't know where you empty your grey waste.
Nice setting but needs money and investment in the camping area... Read more

The touring field is huge and surprisingly quiet at night. The showers are mostly family rooms which is really useful though it does lower the number available. To avoid the queues I went for one before bed(midnight ish) but they can be busy in the day time. Lots of walking opportunities and there's a ford you can paddle in a short walk off site.... After being asked how they can help me I have heard nothing from the management.
I wouldn’t recommend this site to anyone. I really wish I hadn’t taken my caravan here this year. The management staff are rude, they lie and don’t deal with any issues that you have.
It has been a building site the whole time we’ve been there. Then when arriving yesterday a trench with electric cable visible has been dug with no fencing round right next to my van. Very dangerous as I have young children.
The bins were over flowing
Dog poo left ( even when reported no signs put up)
People drinking from the elsen tap as not clearly signed that this water is not fresh.
Lid to waste water drain broken so not easy to lift so again as not fixed or clearly signed people were emptying waste water in drinking water drain.
Barrier is left up most of the time so anyone can come in so not secure.
The management drive round I a golf buggy but pay no attention or take any care when children are around they just drive around full pelt
Please do not waste your money going here as it a very awful disappointing place that doesn’t care about the residence or visitors they are only interested in money and what benefits them.... Read more

We came with extended family and there was plenty of space to run about. The staff are friendly, the grounds are lovely. Like:- Fantastic campsite! ?? Plenty of room for the dogs to run around and cause complete havoc! Great facilities including showers, toilets and washing up area. Staff are always friendly and accommodating.Kids love running around the large hill and loads of washing machines, tumble dryers and microwaves to smash up.- Awesome! Fishing ???? on site is Great ????. Plenty of wildlife and scenery to enjoy. Fire pits allowed and not checks are made if you are a pyromaniac out on licence..It doesn’t get any better! Disabled facilities are adequate as one of our party has flatulence issues and a Gamy ???? leg so has a habit of falling over unexpectedly. Our 4th visit and they still let us back! Well what can I say !
Booked in for 3 nights arrived in the afternoon and was given a pitch 12 EHU,
Drove up to the area, pitch 13 was occupied by a large MH parked sideways, and pitch 11 had a huge tent pitched leaving pitch 12 with about 6ft !!
We went back to Receptiion to enquire about our pitch and got some fat controller come along demanding I move my van now! Tried to explain things but got rudely spoken to MOVE your van !! That was when we asked for a refund and received in full, from the very kind receptionist.
The jobsworth representative of this park is a disgrace and needs a lesson on how to approach people and treat customers with respect.
Not a place you could relax having him about

Impressive on drive in but disappointment set in after a few moments of driving through the site. Great field for camping, however due to the lack of markings no one knows were their pitch starts and ends. Facilities are really poor and definately not enough to go round all the users. Broken showers and leaking toilets. Hazards with piping around the area and really poor pot washing area. All it would take is a little attention to detail. They seem to be spending so much money on the retirement section but neglecting the needs of campers. Theres no cafe as such just a small 8 feet hut which serves a small offering and with no shops in walking distance its not ideal.
This could be so much more and could be lovely as the location is great.... Read more

Fantastically peaceful camp site, surrounded by the river Nene. Lovely lake and mill stream too.
The toilet block seems very new and is well appointed, individual showers, central heating and regularly cleaned.
Washing up facilities are standard camping fare.
The only thing that stops it becoming 5 stars is a lack of laundry and a shop selling everyday provisions and camping essentials. Although there is a Londis less than a mile away. But I suppose this is why the campsite is so quite. And the static and caravan pitches are fully booked 12 months of the year.
That said the Ladies run a friendly little cafe on site from 10-3 every day for drinks, snacks, jackets ect.
Lots of local pubs within a mile or 2 and for the urban experience Peterborough is only 20 mins away and was surprisingly nice! (sorry Peterborough!) And the Nene Valley Railway is less than half a mile walk from the site.
If you like a quiet campsite with walks, rivers, wide open spaces and fishing then this is for you. ... Read more

The location of this place is extremely nice, next to the river Nene which runs past it. Beautiful setting! Shame about the bigoted 50 something owner who rides around on a golf cart ballowing at people. He is the opitomy of some old men who think they should automatically get respect because they are older than you ( and I am a 33 year old mother of three, not an out of control 18 year old). When I challenged him on his approach with us he told me "I was out of order" to which I reminded him, that he was in fact the one "out of order" and if he speaks to people like that then he should expect the same back. All and all dealing with him sent my heart rate up signifanctly, certainly not a relaxing bike ride with my children that I had intended and spent the rest of the day trying to relax after the incident. In summary lovely setting but beware of the golf cart police!... Read more

This site has all the makings of a really great place to visit. The location is fabulous, the views beautiful. There is a river running alongside that is a good place to either watch the wildlife or fish.
But it lacks cleanliness, signage and facilities.
The bins are almost constantly overflowing so bags get dumped alongside which can get quite 'ripe'. There is one bathroom block; which is not a huge problem. It has obviously been recently decorated. But for the whole time we were there it was not clean EVER. The window sills and floors were covered with dead flies, spiders, webs and dirt. And the same dirt is there the following days. (I know as I 'marked' several places to see if it would be cleaned) There are spiders and their webs EVERYWHERE!! In one bathroom cubicle alone I counted 20 of them. The washing up area was so full of webs that it was almost impossible to walk through the doorway without getting a face-full. Just a few minutes with a broom each day would make such a difference.
There are a lack of signs to direct you to the right area and some pitch numbers were missing. A printed map on arrival would help as the reception staff member must get hoarse from giving verbal directions... and such a waste of time when people are waiting to check in . I witnessed no end of people driving around in circles lost. With just a little effort and no great outlay this could be a gem of a place. but at the moment - it is definitely NOT.... Read more

Site is currently undergoing changes and although we booked in April no-one had courtesy of advising us that they no longer had superior sites and we were made to feel unwelcome when we got there as they didnt know where to put us and we ended up with broken water post on the old superior site. They had not cut the grass where we were to set up and it was therefore covered in goose droppings. We asked for this to be cut and they used a tractor mower and went around us which meant all the geese came to us to eat the grass. Shower block and Toilets were cleaned regularly - well floors and toilets but unfortunately the walls and cubicles were left infested with spiders which bite. We felt the company was more interested in progressing the Park Homes than appreciating the fee paying guests they had.
Shop on site did not sell anything required by campers/motorhomes ie gas etc or food and the walk to village shop is too far for elderly for bread and milk.
Site had makings of a remarkable site as lake and scenery beautiful.... Read more
