Lived on the development for over a year and a half, amenities and shops are all within easy reach. Travel routes are excellent, 5 mins from the M1, with train stations in Wakefield and Dewsbury only 10 mins commute.... Read more

Barratt & David Wilson homes - Silkwood Gate is a newish development in Wakefield. The left half of the development as you enter the development is Barratt homes and the right half is David Wilson homes. They are sister companies owned by the same parent company BDW trading. Still not showing up on Google navigation or street view or maps even though existing now for more than 2y! Construction of new homes still ongoing but coming towards the end. Hopefully Google will get around to mapping the area soon and actually being able to get to the addresses on Google maps / navigation / Street view soon. About time Google catches up on their mapping data as the development has been around for more than 2y now! Very close to M1 motorway and with easy access to M62 and Wakefield city centre. Little over a mile to both the main train stations and also bus station and main shopping centres and WGHS, QWEGS, Silcoates private schools and hospital and many other amenities in Wakefield....
