Avoid this estate agent at all costs! My experience with Gemma Carter (Assistant Manager) and Samantha Moate (Managing Director) has been appalling. The boiler hasn’t worked properly since I moved in, and I was told to buy an oil heater at my own expense and wait 23 days for a repair. A collapsed roof with water dripping onto electricals wires was met with no urgency. Gemma failed to address these critical issues, and Samantha called me to discuss the problems but was rude, hostile, and talked over me the entire time. They clearly think it’s acceptable to live in a property with a non-functioning boiler, a leaking roof, and mould and damp throughout. The property was clearly not checked before being rented out, leaving my daughter and me in unsafe and uninhabitable conditions. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for tenant welfare is disgraceful—this so-called 'estate agent' should be ashamed of how they treat their tenants.
I've attached pictures of the boiler that the Managing Director claimed was not on the inventory report, and also some pictures as to how the property was on day 1.

My property had been on the market with an alternative estate agent for a number of months with limited interest. I engaged with Move Now Properties as a result of this and the service I received was excellent throughout.
They listed the property within a could of days of my initial enquiry and it sold within a week of the advert being placed.
There were a few delays with the buyers solicitor which Move Now did everything they could to resolve. Katie was especially helpful and communicated updates throughout the process.
I have already recommended Move Now Properties to a colleague.

My partner and I are not happy with how Billie has handled our situation of applying for a property over the last couple of weeks, we have been emailing her and been getting no response from 4 emails now and every time we call she's not taking out calls, we were informed she was working over the weekend but didn't respond back?
She tried calling us on Friday evening, both our phones rang for less than 30 seconds instead of waiting longer she decided to email us I feel like she could have tried calling a little longer.
We are financially in a tough spot now because we have to be moved out of our property less than 1 week they've taken our deposit which my partner and I am saved up for, I have now called and been informed that the property we have paid a deposit on has been taken by another tenant, I've asked if we could have our deposit back due to our circumstances in writing, Billie didn't speak to ask but got another employee to deliver the answer which was no, in a way I guess this has helped us because we wouldn't want an agency that can't have compassion in these circumstances.
I would like this complaint taken further or I would like to speak to a complaints manager.

Movenow have been really great with everything to do with the securing of my new home. They were so quick with it all and really made the process so smooth. After viewing the house they contacted me immediately the next day and they’ve responded to all my emails and concerns. They have even helped with rearranging my move in date and have been very understanding throughout the move in process. Following our house valuation there was no pressures from them chasing us for a decision and once we chose them as agents they were on the ball with contacting us and keeping us up to date and recommended other additional services which would help us throughout the process of selling and buying a new property.

Dealing with Sam and the team at Movenowproperties was a fantastic experience from the first contact all the way through to completion of my property.
I made an enquiry overnight and was contacted promptly the following day to arrange a viewing. Sam was very knowledgeable about the property and was completely professional.
Other estate agents could learn a lot from these guys as many didn’t make any contact or if they did, it was up to a week after making an enquiry! Their loss because I had already viewed a fantastic and progressing.

If you rent with them, they take forever to fix any issues in the house. Sometimes, over a year. If you finish renting, they ask you to do remedial work and at the end, they claim your entire deposit. Would not recommend

Our experience with MoveNowProperties was extremely negative and we experienced the same bad attitude reported in the negative reviews you find on the web. We are expats and we relocated from Texas to the UK at the beginning of the lock-down. The modest house (3 rooms in a popular area of Horbury for 835GBP/month!) was structurally in very poor conditions and we found several sections covered in mould. Slugs (!!) were entering the kitchen overnight, I spare you the rest of the surprises that we found there!! OK, we were not in a position to be picky, we cleaned as soon as we found out the mess, and moved on. What was really disturbing was the Agency and the attitude of their employees: I was asked to pay 6 months in advance, because I am not a UK citizen, OK. When renewing for additional 6 months I was again asked to pay the whole 6 months in advance. I strongly disagreed: I provided bank references, letter of permanent employment (which I produced already in the first place, anyway....) and I had an immaculate record of payments both in UK and US. Another event that should make you think before going with MoveNowProperties: I was received with sarcasm when I asked to pay a reduced fee for missing the advance notice by 4 days! I explained that I was witheld in Italy due to COVID-related family issues and their answer was 'We still have to understand why you could not send us an email...'. James tried his best to deliver a professional service, but a single good guy can only do so much.
Avoid these guys: you don't need them!

I honestly can't sing their praises enough. Had a number of issues which were all resolved same day. I've been renting over two years now and I've never had a situation where I've got a answer or response within half an hour. A totally dishonest Agency that works against the very purpose (rent/sell) you hire them for.
Please find a letting agency that will be honest, fair and act in your best interest - at least for the money you pay.
FOR TENANTS - They exploit tenants and their rights by making them sign disproportionate contracts that favour landlords. They write false, inaccurate and misleading move-in details and you might not notice it until you check every line when moving in. Later, your money will be withheld for things you have nothing to do with.
Have been charged for service that was not rendered and did not return the money back. Think twice before you use this agency.
FOR LANDLORDS - They are not good to the Landlord either. They put all the liabilities on your head (costs, repairs, service fee etc.) while securing their fee at all cost (even at your loss). Also, they do not like landlords to get in touch with tenants for the fear that they will develop a cordial relationship (which is a bane to them). Though it is your property and you benefit from a cordial relationship with the tenant (and the house gets maintained well due to that good relationship|), they throw every trick in their book to prevent you from it. They also abandon you when there is a problem.

Oh - wow. What an accusation and lie pulled out of the clouds. If what you claim is even 1% true, could you please upload the evidence (court order for eviction) for all of us to see?
This is exactly why you want to avoid this agency. They are hell bent to twist things, demonize you and lie - just to create the false positive image for the business.
Well, landlords and tenants, save yourself trouble. Their true colours have been exposed.

worst company I have ever had to deal with. Dishonest, lie to you promise to call back and never do.
So I had my heart set in a property on Monday last week I rang up to put a holding fee down the agents told me I couldn’t and that I had to view it first. I used to be a letting agent and I knew I could just put a holding fee down.
I viewed the property on the Thursday and then again on Friday. I called them on Saturday to again put my holding fee down. They told me I couldn’t do this and to ring up on Monday!
I rang Monday morning to be told someone would call me straight back an hour later they hadn’t so I called them. Only to be told the house has been let by someone else.
I was fuming so I put a one start review on google this Monday I had taken the funds off my credit card to pay them £1500 and so now I had to pay all the money back on plus a charge. On Tuesday they called me up to ask me to remove my review.
I later found out the property was available and they told me we do not want to let it to you.
As a former lettings agent their telephone manner is disgusting their time keeping is horrendous and they tell you what you want to hear.
Their agents don’t know anything about the properties they are showing or know nothing about the area. They don’t even look smart.
And you trust your home with these people?
They turned me down for a property because I left a review after they cost me money and then blamed it on the landlord of the property!
As you can tell from their response they are not professional in anyway they treat and speak to you like rubbish and then act like the victim.

I am looking to sell my house and was considering this agency. I have decided not to go ahead with them for 2 reasons.
1. Upon inquiry, they do not seem to be competent nor sincere to sell houses profitably. They could not answer many of my basic questions of how they have sold so far and showed dislike for questioning. It made me very suspicious. They are also very pushy.
2. I have observed that they delete and discredit negative reviews repeatedly. This i think is just the tip of the iceberg of their bad service and attitude
Why would an agency delete reviews rather than correct themselves and serve customers well?
After all, my house is the fruit of years of toil. I am not going to hand it over to such an agency.
I am not taking a chance with this agency and going to look for another agency who is credible and competent.

Firstly the property was not great at all, damp half of the bedroom. Walls was covered in holes. I put my hands up I wasn't going to raise these issues as I was just happy securing a place. But these things should have been rectified prior to moving in! I was advised the bedroom wall would dry once I had the heating on..I moved in and noted immediately the heating was not working, I was told that it was the energy provider issue and not there's so after chasing that I was told it was a fault within the property. This was week3 (Jan/Feb2017) I've never felt cold like it! I entered the property in week5 (still having no basic facilities as a legal requirement in the tenancy) gas was pouring from the back boiler. I called northern grid and they immediately cut the line which forced them to act as they had found a leak. Even the engineer from northern grid gave me a heater as he was disgusted how they could leave me 5weeks in the cold he felt. Not only at this point all my bedroom furniture started going mouldy from the damp!.
5months later same problem. Sat the heating wouldn't spark up, M.Now not open over weekend,so called them Mon to note this and I was told they would chase it up, nothing, Tues repeat. Weds I personally walked in and all times spoke to jamie ."il chase the landlord". Thurs I left it and waited til half 4 Fri before they closed again for the weekend and said right il get someone out and retain a receipt and knock it off the rent (spoke to nikki on this occasion) who said right they would send someone out but it'll cost me £65 if it's a small issue!! Guy came and said a part had gone and it would cost them to replace it but it wouldn't be today. Well they responded by sending someone else out "Mike" who noted the issue and temp fixed it and said he'd make the landlord aware it needs replacing. This was never fixed!
Between this my first inspection I also noted to Jamie that there was a plank of wood size gap at side of bath that had been present since moving in but wasn't noticeable as they glued the linoe to the bath and only came apparent once walked on, I didn't bother chasing as Id already gave up with them.
I finally chased it, i noted this to mike as well in June a month later after the inspection when he was doing the annual gas cert) and he said that they was issues in pretty much all the flat this landlord let's with faults,leaks. bearing in mind Mike is a contractor that they used and he never faulted the actual landlord as he got rapid response if he was to contact him directly however he wasn't complimentary to the estate agents, I must express this gap was getting worse and it was at least a good 6foot drop underground if the rotted planks gave way. Mike attended this and made no mistake in letting me know how useless this estate agents was and this would be the last job he'd do for them. He had a look and said pretty much the lot needed pulling out as the beams supporting the bath was crumbling and that I should cease to use the bath as it wasn't safe. I never saw Mike again once he advised what needed doing. A different guy came and just reboarded the gap!, Then having no hot water for the last 2weeks of renting in july a month late of renewal of the gas cecert legal requirement who condemned it!
I have email correspondence of all this over the last month which I was advised to have evidence from EHO and Wakefield council. I will take this further they have the cheek to try to claim some of my deposit after making such improvements for a *free gift* that never worked as it froze or chilled the food not safe to store food in and I removed it for them.
Clearly crooks to have probably known this and charge when it wasn't on the inventory check list, wouldn't mind it was probably left from the last tenant that they charged for removal and gave it to me as a free *gift* sums it up really.
This is just a hindsight as to what you are expect if m.now are managing the property whether they want to pass the blame to the guy there managing for it not. Very professional

Having been a tenant 10 years ago and now a landlord with movenowproperties I don’t have anything bad to say
As a tenant they helped me through the whole letting process. It was a difficult time for me personally but they were extremly patient and helped me move into a rental property with ease
I now let me property with movenowproperties and have brilliant tenants. The rent is paid into my account on time every month and I get property inspection reports giving me piece of mind.

If I could rate 0 I would.
I got scammed nearly 400 in this shambles of a business! The girl was all nice at the beginning of my rental for my 1st house from moving out of my parents, then as soon as I went for a credit check, being 18 years old.. I obviously did t have a credit background due to no contracts been taken out in the past yadda yadda yadda, I ask for my deposit back as it wouldn't be my fault and the brat wouldn't give me my money back, she was so rude & I would not recommend this business! She was rude to my parents & she even swore down the phone!!!
