Absolutely terrible letting agency. They fail to fix things and things we were promised at the start of the tenancy took over 3 years to sort and they had the " we did it eventually" attitude. We had numerous problems which they refused to fix or failed to acknowledge. In the end they threw us out because "the landlord can't afford the repairs and wants to retire in peace because he is old" They took all the deposit afterwards claiming for things that were broken that we informed them of during the tenancy but they failed to replace. AVOID!!!! Edit 1 What is unfair is charging us 550 pounds and fail to fix faults with the house and throw us out because you don't want to fix things. Talking about misleading reviews, I think you should remove the reviews you have posted on a couple of sites as that is misleading. We didn't keep the dog here any longer than 1 day a week like we discussed and you didn't have a problem with us looking after your mum's cat for 2 years.. I never said we broke anything, I said things broke and you failed to replace them. The furniture that you gave us for the tenancy for in poor state so after a couple of years they broke but you failed to acknowledge or replace after numerous emails stating this. Oh no!! Please don't give us a bad reference!! We are in a much nicer place now for half the price. And the furnishings are new and not falling apart like they were there.... Read more

I've just finished up a tenancy with EBC, was very happy with their service from start to finish of my time with them. We required a few changes to the property during our stay (just normal things that come up from an older house) and these were dealt with swiftly. I know a lot of work went into the house between the last tenants and us, and a lot of this was seen to by Elena personally. Any time we needed to get in touch, everyone was very helpful and courteous - great team. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this business to anyone looking for a new home in Sheffield.... Read more

Had a year with EBC. When we entered, the house was not clean and we informed both EBC and the landlord of that. They missed out pieces of furniture on the inventory, which I updated when we first moved in. Letting agents are nice enough, but in terms of practical issues to make the house a livable home, it was hard. The emails to the letting agents had prompt replies, but they kept on promising that the builder would come fix stuff at a certain day and he did not- biggest example in garbage was left out from November from the builder sorting out the bathroom until the end of our tenancy agreement in July (a whopping 8 months), and the builder taking over a month to sort out and plaster the kitchen ceiling after a leak happened. They also came without notice to the house near the end, when they were trying to let the house to other tenants. The house itself had no soundproofing issues, which unfortunately, was not something we could test before we entered the house. As a disabled woman, I'll not be going back to EBC. They are friendly people, but unfortunately, it was difficult to make that house a livable space. If you do still desire to rent from them, I would recommend checking out soundproofing issues, examining the wear and tear of the place, and looking at the boiler pressure.... Read more

This company took over our property mid way through our tenancy, and we noticed an immediate decline in the standards of maintenance around the house. They were okay for the duration of our tenancy, although they failed to provide us with a mower in a timely fashion, so we could not use our garden during the summer months, which was a shame. They were especially bad when it came to returning our deposits however. Despite the house being spotless when we left, and identical to the condition it was in when EBC took over 5 months prior, they made a long list of complaints against us and were extremely rude. I would not recommend signing with this company, especially if the deposit is large, as I doubt you will be seeing it again. Also, no wonder richard's "review" is 5 stars, he works there lol... Frankly the worst property company I have ever dealt with. Overpriced rents, faulty equipment, and unfriendly staff. Our boiler, oven, and washing machine were constantly broken and the EBC took no steps to help us, instead asking us to it ourselves. If you are a student they will not respect your privacy or university timetables. If more people stand up to these companies abusing student tenants then they will have to stop. I do not recommend booking ANY property with this company!... Read more
