The most confusing multi story car park I’ve ever been in. It’s not clear where you can and can’t park for short stay, there’s no parent and child bays. I was forced onto the top roof in a storm with my newborn when the whole car park was empty as that was the only place seemingly marked for short stay. Won’t be using again, absolute waste of space. Nobody will use it if it’s that confusing.... Read more

Maddening. Had to use this car park for the first time yesterday. 'Short stay' (red zone) seems to be at the top. 'Rail users' (green zone) takes up most of the car park. What counts as 'short stay' and what counts as 'rail user'? Does fetching someone from the train station count as a 'rail user'? Why is 'short stay' at the top and not easily accessible from the ground floor? And why have 'red' and 'green' zones at all when they amount to the same thing? Too many questions and not enough answers provided. It's just so badly designed. If not for that it would otherwise be a perfectly acceptable car park. Would suggest something like NCP does--where you have your own account with an app, scan it for entry, scan it to leave and payment is automatically deducted. That's incredibly convenient.... So someone in their infinite wisdom decided to design and build a car park that's absolutely horrible at being a car park. No intelligent person in their right mind would even entertain trying to navigate this absolute abomination in any vehicle larger than a Nissan Micra... Me on the other hand? I went full lunatic and tried it in a Renault Grand Espace. Narrow ramps, narrow and shallow spaces and the prices? Unbelievable. My car was parked for one day and two hours... Instead of being charged for one day and two hours I found myself charged for two full days. £22! There are plenty of far better places to park in Wakefield... Use one of those instead.... Read more

How is a car park designed so that the top 2 floors are for short stay? Plain stupid. The machine has overcharged me on two occasions that I have used the car park. And they can't provide any assistance except 'do what the machine says'! I'd park elsewhere.... Read more

I use the car park daily so I am familiar - be aware of the zones in there and where you can and cannot park. Parking in a permit required area without one will cost you £70.... Read more

Be careful not to park on the top levels as they required permits even if the lower levels are full - you will be fined! It's tricky to see the signs posting the fact that you may be in the 'black zone' and don't be fooled by the colour of the parking bays; they are blue regardless (so even that doesn't help!)... I thought it was bad enough having to use the top 2 floors if you just want short term parking but it really takes the p**s when it gives you a slip of paper saying it owes you your change, don't use, top off... Read more

Very convenient location for a car park but the payment machines do not cut it in 2018! If the payment machines happen to be working they are excruciatingly slow. Machines are often working and you're always queuing a while to pay when coming off trains. Please update your ticket machines!... Read more

Full of feral kids off the estates due to greatly reduced security presence (most likely due to budget cuts). Now there's nowhere safe to leave a car in Wakefield - especially on an evening. Attached is a photo I took a few years back.... Read more
