Looking further afield at where i want to live which reaches the right balance and unfortunately everything on offer is too expensive for my income. Its a sad state of the country which is not really FennWrights fault but they are part of the industry so they needed to know and when challenged on this some became upset and brazen about that's just how it is. 625, for a admittedly well decorated but E graded EPC bedsit above your shop just is not acceptable. For that price you could have provided furniture and all the other stuff and i stand my ground that a fair rent would be an annual yield of 3 to 5 percent. Especially as the original maisonette above had been originally i believe social housing scheme which and then you then became the managing agents of.
Turning the 2 bedroom maisonettes into single units was crazy. Now i suppose someone is without a living room and i bet the rent is exorbitant. Especially as you are the owners of the block somehow. I guess its who you know at Tendring.

Had a fault with a rental property. Contacted several times and assured that they would chase the landlord but still nothing. Contacted the landlord directly who claims that he hadn't heard a thing from Fenn Wright. Landlord rectified the problem next day. Fenn Wright take your money but fail to honour their contract or obligations

My 5 star rating is purely down to Mel Rowlands. I moved into a rental property managed by Fennwright and from the outset had nothing but issues. I think I have pretty much had every tradesperson out that you can have, it has been horrendous. The one silver lining was Mel and her efficiency in getting everything fixed as quickly and hassle free as possible. We were in contact almost daily to begin with as problem after problem came up, Mel was always very kind and very thorough with sorting everything out and keeping me informed the whole time. I can’t praise her enough.

The staff at the Stanway office were a pleasure to deal with. After a year of having to deal with some agents in our search for a home that give estate agents a bad name, it was refreshing to speak with Kirsty in the office. She was honest, relatable and helpful. Adam was great on our viewing and was again honest, open and helped us with our purchase. James in the office was so helpful and secured us our new home. Honestly can't recommend them enough, it made the process swift and seamless. Moving itself is stressful, so if you find an agent that can make the process any easier I think it's a huge bonus to be honest.
Massive thanks to the ladies in the office on completion day too, even running the keys out to me as I had kids and dogs in a full car! Service above and beyond and I would really recommend them for a property transaction. Thanks again everyone!

Tried to scam us out of over £500 when we vacated and arrogant enough to think that this would be actually be accepted by the independent adjudicator as part of the formal dispute (who thankfully was having none of it). Good riddance - avoid at all costs.

I’m a tenant through fennwright.
2 months after my girlfriend and I renewed our tenancy, we were issued with a section 21 for poor communication but they’d only tried to contact my girlfriend and not myself.
Cutting a long story short, I phoned and spoke to Regan who dealt with the matter brilliantly and after realising fennwrights mistake him and his colleague had the section 21 removed.
I’m not giving 5 stars due to the unnecessary stress caused.

I don't usually leave feedback but in this case the customer service was so horrendous I feel others need to be aware. I was a tenant of a property managed by Fenn Wright for 3.5 years until earlier this year and unfortunately the service I received from them as a tenant was consistently bad. When I got the keys to the property the whole place smelt of cigarette and cannabis smoke. Despite Fenn Wright allegedly having the carpets cleaned, the smell remained. I had to pay to have the carpets cleaned at my own cost multiple times and eventually (after months) the smell subsided, however I did sometimes smell it in winter when I wasn't able to open the windows every day. There were cigarette burn holes on the carpet and agreed remedial work had not been carried out the day I moved in. Holes needed to be filled in walls and doors were heavily marked and dirty.
Last year I was told that me and my son had to move out in two months as the landlord was selling. When I queried this time frame based on the fact the property had no offers, let alone actually sold, they reiterated I would need to move out in 2 months regardless of whether the property had sold or had any offers. The landlord could have had an empty property for who knows how long if it was in the process of selling.
When I gave notice to move out I was granted an early release and was due half a month's rent back once the new tenants moved in. However, Fenn Wright paid the landlord not one, but two months of rent after the new tenants had signed their agreement, meaning I had to wait 5 weeks to be refunded over £700 as there was no money on the ledger to refund me, plus they had ongoing issues with changing over their systems. The individual I was dealing with was apologetic but it seems incompetent to not hold back any funds when they knew they needed to pay rent back to me and they took no responsibility for this being their error. In the time I was a tenant they must have made a fair amount of money from me, yet most of the times I spoke to people I was made to feel like a huge inconvenience. Very rarely did I speak to the same person twice. No one seemed to know what was going on.
I did deal with a couple of members of staff who were fantastic, one of whom was Nathaniel. It was a shame the service from most of the other people I dealt with was so awful.

I have been dealing with Mel at Fennwright Maintenance in Stanway for the last few weeks on the above problem and now have had issue fully resolved. It wasn't easy for her, as it was a complex situation, but at all times Mel communicated with me to let me know what was going on. She is a credit to her company.
I would also like to mention Emily who was also very helpful, while Mel was on holiday.

Do not take tenancy from Fenn Wright. They treat tenants like second class citizens. Only take landlords side. Only worry about the rent money, but not interested about tenants wellbeing. They never resolve our mold and condensation issues even they knew we had kids. DO NOT TAKE TENANCY FROM THEM!!!

Fenn Wright were absolutely brilliant throughout our house sale and purchase. We dealt with them for nearly a year due to sales and purchases falling through but throughout that time they were always on hand to answer any questions and got us viewings extremely quickly both for our sale and for any properties they had come on the market, as a result we managed to buy a property through them which made the process easier. Fenn Wright always answered our calls and emails quickly and chased buyers and sellers on our behalf. Laura was particularly excellent in this regard as she was constantly chasing for us which sped the process along quicker, and she always provided us with updates when we asked for one and we were really appreciative of the work she put in to get the sale and purchase to go through. Adam was also brilliant from start to finish in getting our house up for sale and finding us a new property to move to, again he was always really responsive and helpful when we asked any questions or wanted to make arrangements to view properties or the property we eventually purchased. James was also excellent in arranging appointments and conducting viewings, and Clark was too and was always available to show us round properties and allow us access to the property we bought. Would definitely use Fenn Wright in the future.

Worst estate agent as a landlord I’ve ever had the misfortune to use, I’m left with a tenant owing over £18k of rent + ongoing court costs, brand new barn absolutely wrecked, Fenn Wrights answer to it all, shrug of the shoulder’s attitude, we’ll of course they still got their fees, they vetted these people but absolutely no responsibility, disgrace to actually call themselves letting agents.

After a year of living at our current property we ran in to a few problems all at once. Each time I called I was promised they would be dealt with and each time I called back (because no one bothered to update us) no one knew what I was talking about and I had to start all over again. I was promised call backs, that messages would be passed along, that our landlord would be contacted, and nothing was sorted. Whenever I called there was never an apology, it was honestly terrible customer service that you'd expect from inexperienced disinterested teenagers not professional adults. However the five star review is for an employee named Romario who was the only person to actually call back and actually get things done. It's taken a while but everything is now sorted and if it wasn't for that particular staff member I imagine we'd still be waiting.

Her attitude towards the problem I was having was full of understanding, empathy along with great confidence and determination in resolving this for me. I’ve never received such good customer service from Fenn Wright before! 5 star employee right there ????????

Since renting, at the start of the year, through Fenn Wright we have found them to be an excellent managing agent. We have had few minor issues, and a couple of larger ones, with the property. In each instance, Kayleigh Kent has always been able to resolve them quickly, professionally, and with a friendly manner.
I would add, in fact, that all our dealings with Fenn Wright have been superb. It is clear to see, from how long the business has been about for, just why they have endured over their long history.

My partner and I recently started renting a maisonette through Fenn Wright which had been fitted with a brand new and modern kitchen, bathroom and all new carpets. We were extremely keen to have the old fashioned doors repaired and painted as they had some damage. Thanks to the help of Veronica, our landlady grated us permission to do so.
Our initial request was declined but thanks to the help we received from Veronica the decision was changed. Thanks to her quick responses we received the outcome we hoped for. Thank you!

This was very first time i have used an agency to rent a flat . Onboarding process was really smooth and addressed any issues i had during my stay . The reason i have given 3 star was , During the on boarding there was no clear explanation of where to park my car, From conversation i had they said that you have a parking space and asked me to park in the space which has my flat number . Due to which i have paid a parking ticket of 120 pounds . I request you to let people know that whether the parking space comes with the flat or not .

Had many ups and downs with Fenn Wright.
very good of understanding their tenants, had a tough time during lockdown and being furloughed by my work. They do take their time coming back to you, so I was chasing on a few occasions.
Ross in maintenance was very helpful and very understanding.
WOULDNT RECOMMEND THEIR LANDLORDS AT 22 CAMBIE CRESCENT.

Had to report to Fenn Wright for harassing me and bombarding me with texts and calls.
They forever get to do their own maintenance - took us 3 weeks to get a fitted smoke alarm.
Had their son Liam Platt - LGP Electrical in Colchester do work on the oven and was very rude, and also give attitude towards me when he turned up without no notice - time or date given for repairs and we was out. Neil refused to give us his number to sort out with him directly.
Blamed for existing damage of limescale and dusty/worn carpets that was not clean before entering and billed for in our final deductions from our deposit.
Would rate more stars but have poor landlords / clients from our experience.

Fantastic Service throughout from start to finish. My property was Sold, STC 2 weeks prior to the Pandemic and lock down implemented., that in itself was stressful. Once permitted to open, fantastic service. Totally professional, efficient, above and beyond and Kirsty gave more than 100%. Without her tireless efforts throughout until exchange I would have given up. Her ability to remain cheerful and positive and always keep me informed whilst working in challenging conditions was paramount. The complete team, Briege from the beginning, Stephen Robinson for property viewings and Kirsty throughout but daily whilst exchanging. They are a great credit to Fenn Wright, and all work as a formidable team. No hesitation in recommending Fenn Wright.

Just experienced a very testing and difficult Sale using Fenn Wright (Stanway) and it was a real relief that we had the experienced professionals at FW looking after us otherwise we would not have got to exchange of contracts.
Kirsty in particular was simply outstanding in the way in which she professionally managed and nurtured every element of the process with her highly skilled and experienced manner. Fenn Wrights do not 'drop you' as soon as your property has sold with them. They are adept at managing every step of the process including the Lawyers in the chain. Their communication is very effective and sets them above the rest!

Unfair contract terms are placed in tenancy agreements, get a solicitor to check through prior to agreeing any tenancy agreement. You will be locked in for 12 months with no break clause and if you want to break early they will charge you over £1,000 plus VAT to break the agreement (which I assume is literally made up as it's noted nowhere within the tenancy agreement) and that you have to continue paying rent on top of this extortionate fee. Will never use again.

After using an online estate agent and 3 high street estate agents, I engaged with Fenn Wright based on properties marked as 'Sold STC' in my area. Alex came round the following day and we decided to sign up. The service received from Fenn Wright was so much more personal than other agents, they were more than happy to conduct viewings on our behalf (something which other agents did not offer as default) and would always provide feedback post viewings where possible. We had been on the market for over 3 months with other agents but Fenn Wright managed to sell us within 2 weeks. Once we got to the point where we had sold, Kirsty did a great job in making sure the sale progressed to completion. All the team at Fenn Wright were great, especially Alex and Kirsty (who dealt with our negotiations and sale progression). If you are local to the Stanway area, DO NOT use any other agent. Fenn Wright are the best in my experience.

Our experience of working with Richard Garrett at FennWright Stanway has been flawless. We first met Richard at a viewing over a year ago, and were impressed by his professionalism, approach and local knowledge. He gave us time to look around the property, and was clearly well informed as to his client's situation, as well as knowing of/being involved with every bit of market activity in the location we were interested in.
This experience left us with a very easy decision to make a year later when it came to deciding who we wanted to sell our house with. Richard was able to accurately value our house, generate instant interest in our property and arrange a number of suitable and qualified viewings. As a result, we were able to sell our home very quickly, for the right price and to the right buyers. The only shame in the whole process was that Richard was not the agent managing our purchase as well.
I would highly recommend Richard to anyone looking to buy or sell in this region.
