I have had truly atrocious experiences with Humphiss & Ryde Chislehurst branch, especially with Nancy. I've only given one star as I had to, but I think even that is generous!! My husband and I were looking for our long-term residential property. We found one we liked the look of online, advertised by Humphriss & Ryde, so I contacted them to book a viewing. I was told there were tenants in the house, and therefore it was difficult to find a date to do the viewing. I called about half a dozen times over the course of about ten to twelve weeks to try to arrange a viewing of this property, only to then be told it had been sold!! This was nothing compared to what happened next. We found another property we liked the look of online and were disappointed to see it was being marketed by Humphriss & Ryde Chislehurst. We managed to see this one though(!), loved it and made an offer immediately (of over asking price, as we were really keen). We were so pleased when our offer was accepted, we started going through the due diligence straight away, with instructing a solicitor and filling in the required paperwork. It was a week or so later that the estate agent called us to let us know they had continued viewings on the property and had an offer matching ours from a cash buyer so they had advised their client (the seller) to go with the other offer! Some may consider this standard practice, but the way Nancy and her colleagues treated us was unfair, unprofessional and downright rude. When I was approached by Humphriss & Ryde a few weeks later about another property they were bringing to the market, I wasn't even interested in hearing about it. Unless it is the perfect property for you, don't bother with these people as they're an absolute disgrace to the industry and are clearly just out for themselves to make their bonuses!! Avoid them like a bargepole if you can!... Read more
