Wonderful care and service from the fantastic team in Endoscopy unit from Tina on reception to staff nurses Ricky, Hsiu, Monica, Marcella, Mervin and Doctor Pappas. First class facilities brand new wing and state of the art equipment. The rooms for prep are private and warm. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and answered all my questions. They were all warm and welcoming and caring and made me feel special and calmed me down before the two procedures.... Read more

I went to the gynaecology department today . They were just wonderful . The consultant was so caring & his nurses were just excellent !! . I have just returned from my pre assessment appointment at the Highlands Wing. I can honestly say this was fantastic, both Kavita and Jenny were incredibly professional, friendly and patient. I came away feeling prepared for my up coming operation as everything was explained clearly and not at all rushed. Parking is a joy compared to other hospitals and relatively cheap. This is my favourite hospital I have visited by far. Its modern, fresh and spacious. Modern technologies and fantastic staff. The ambience is so calming. All your troubles disappear when you visit this hospital. Ample parking available and drop off zone right outside the entrance. Also lots of electric charging bays. Ran 1 hour late for a maternity scan so my wife was forced to empty her bladder. We were then told she needs to drink more water to take a scan as they couldn't get an accurate picture. The person doing the scan was useless. Pay £65 and just go private for all your scans. The staff have no measure of time. People have things to do and can't be waiting 3 hours for a simple scan. I was also not allowed to enter the scan room as the husband either as I had my 1 year old child with me. Complete stupidity.... Read more

The anesthesiologists were nothing short of remarkable. Today, I went to urgent care and was not feeling well, the lady in the front desk/registration (black lady) was rude. My family of 3 were all sick. She was getting information from me first then came my husband, I know I’ve heard it right cause she asked what’s the last name I told her my husband’s last night name cause I was quite under the impression that she already got mine cause she already asked me my information. To my surprise, her response was so rude responding annoyed by me saying my husband’s last night and telling me with an attitude that she needs my info only. I’ve given her all information she needed, now people going there are sick and to be dealt by rude people. It’s a public hospital but doesn’t mean they can treat people with disrespect.... Read more

14/3/2024 Faced with a rude nurse today in Ophthalmology (Joanne in L4) felt the need to make us feel uncomfortable in the waiting area by telling us we must move even though her colleagues had asked for us to wait there. After this several times we caught her giving dirty looks to me and my partner. Shortly afterwards my partner was being seen and a few more patients came through so I gave up my seat and stood in the small hallway waiting for her to come out. Well of course Joanne in room L4 didn’t like that either so she said that I can wait in the main waiting area to where I kindly declined and stated that I gave up my seat to allow others to sit and that I am fine standing where I am. My partner came out and we were asked to wait again, were we now both felt uncomfortable as she just kept staring at us and eventually she swiped her curtain closed. As much as it is difficult for NHS staff and that they work hard and do not expect any abuse from patients or members of the public, surely this notion works in the opposite towards the patient to not be made to feel uncomfortable or that they don’t belong. (Maybe she didn’t like that my partner and I are in an interracial relationship) because after watching her it seemed like she only had an issue with us, she was okay with everyone else. I just wanted to shed some light on this situation and I hope that the department picks up on this and offers some sort of training into people skills and how to deal with patients.... Read more

I had a mammogram done and a few days later I developed a terrible itch and later welts and rashes in the areas where my skin leaned against the mammogram machine. Makes me wonder if they ever disinfected the outside of the scanner. Next time I will bring some wipes and clean it myself.... Read more

Disappointed really. Have been calling to see a family member in the hospital. No communication skills at all. Very rude and I soon as I mention the patient they say they can’t hear me. I have called from my parents phone as well because maybe it was a problem with my phone or signal however I keep getting the same response. Here I mention about the Devon ward for mental health department. I have speak with different receptionist and always the same response each time.... Read more

Sent a letter for an MRI appointment, you need to call to confirm you’re attending the appointment. Called numerous times for a whole week until someone eventually picked up the phone just to tell me they’ve offered the appointment to someone else. How useless is it that you can’t even confirm your appointment because no one answers the phones. I’ve called 3 different telephone numbers that were given on the letter too.... Read more

The nurses and doctors were very friendly and made me feel at ease. They took the time to explain the procedure and after care in detail, addressing any concerns I had.
