Never happy when dishing out a poor review but this one truly deserves it. Failed to action a 6 month break clause so that we had rent 6 month longer than we wished. Failed to ensure the final tenant had completed a through clean of the property, and after repeated requests we had to complete the clean ourselves. Failed to to move clients washing machine from the living room. Failed to get recompense from the last client for numerous decorative issues. Lastly the complete lack of communication with us and also with there own estate agency, who are excellent but we’re as frustrated with them as well. In to answer the response below. We asked you to clean the house again as plainly and obviously NO professional cleaning had been carried out, we asked you to inspect again to confirm what we had found, and you AFAIK did not do this. Surely your responsibility falls beyond the contract period when you have not carried out one of the basic stipulations of the contract. Your inspection of the property failed to observe and report that your client had repainted the walls but had patched mark and dirt smudges with the WRONG COLOUR paint. Also wallpaper she had applied, without permission, (which you also failed to inform us) showed through the thin paint, probably only one coat. A huge pile of rubbish was found in the front garden, whilst no gardening had been carried out. An electric lawn mower left in garage for your client to use was missing. The serious flood in the kitchen undoubtably occurred by your client negligently plumbing in the afore mentioned washing machine. I maintain that either no check out report was carried or the individual required a trip to the opticians. Your comment that the solicitor released the funds is puzzling, I have no record of that, certainly every penny of that deposit would have been accounted for in our clean up. In short your service to the estate of Mrs Hoft was very poor, in contrast to your excellent Whitton Estate Branch who again was also frustrated by the lack of communication when they tried to get things moving to effect the sale.... Having rented through a few agencies before, in between owning a few properties and once a landlord, it’s been a delight to have rented a house through Milestones. From the outset they were pleasant, helpful and efficient and have continued to be so over many years and renewals. In this particular case the current property is managed and all issues with the property have been addressed quickly through them rather than the landlord. Of course agreement on any works ultimately depend on the landlord (who has also been great) but I always felt that Milestones was pushing for me. Ditto, the renewals. This is perhaps not always the case in larger agencies, who can be impersonal and inefficient from both a landlord’s or renter’s perspective. Not so with Milestones. If I were a landlord would I employ them? Without doubt. I’ve got to know most of the staff well and they are all like family to me. My thanks to Lesley, Claire, Michele, Jake, Pamela and others in the past who have been fab - Lisa and Ruth too. And no - I don’t work for them!... Read more
