Foxtons really focus on your needs and respond to you clearly and quickly while renting. Especially the two agents I worked with, Oscar and Louis, were helpful and supportive. You should get in touch with them. However when your rental contract ends then there is the big issue of getting back your deposit. Foxtons has a different department for that which is totally unsupportive and pretty unfair. To begin with, I left the flat in a good condition, house fully cleaned by my housekeeper and more to that when checking in to the flat some parts like window frames inside and outside were not painted before so I painted since I like to live in a clean and well painted house. Oven was extremely dirty and parts ripped, all fixed by myself. After a year, before exiting the flat, I painted the parts that are just in fair wear and tear status to be a good tenant. More to that I paid £320 to Foxtons for Move Out Clean which means professional cleaning. You know what, Still they blocked the deposit and after my many complains and providing evidence, they only paid back some of the amount. This process took months since they do not respond to my emails and calls. Briefly, I don’t recommend Foxtons and I heard many similar stories from other tenant about them later on, meaning it was not just me.

We bought our house many years ago through Foxtons so it only seemed logical to go back to resell our property after many years of making it our home. We were not disappointed and the experience from the complete team was great. We worked with Alan,Ellen and Francis from the twickenham branch and found a really energetic,friendly and adaptable team to both ours and our tenants requirements (which wasn’t easy at times!) . We were always kept informed of viewings and all feedback given was promptly uploaded onto the website portal which was a great tool. I would recommend Foxtons to any of my family or friends.

Today I have been told by Foxtons that they have kept 75% of the rent for the first month, and crediting the 25% to my account….this when I clearly told them a month ago that I do not need their Tenant Management services…also no one even cares to give me a call to tell me that’s what they plan to do with my money as if it’s their own money…appalling service….feeling slightly helpless as they get my rent currently…have now decided to involve Solicitor, and also lodge a formal complaint to THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN. I am hoping they can help me here, will keep you all posted.
@Sophie I don’t think you take complaints seriously, there is an email thread going on from last 5 weeks, and all I do daily is send you a chaser and give you guys a call to get things moving….no one has given me any call this far….this is how you operate I am afraid….still I have fwd’d you the whole email thread.

Been 4.5 weeks, still waiting for Foxtons to complete all formalities. I am having to keep calling them everyday, to get things moving, and when you call them the arrogance on display with some of the agents is hard to believe. Without a call, you wouldn't get email responses.
Stay away for any tenancy management, that would be my humble advise.

Sale of the property was handled by Foxtons, which I would say went alright. But they manage the tenancy too, and this review is specifically on transition from Sales team to Tenancy Management team, and the delays to handover the property to the new owner (me).
Been 3.5 weeks after completion, and I have chased them at least 15 times (on phone & email) but it is yet to be handed over to me (new owner). I was very clear from the outset that I don't require the tenancy management services at the cost they were offering, so dont quite understand the reason for such a long delay in handing over the property, especially when they dealt with the sale so should have warmed up the tenancy management team that this is coming and been proactive rather than responding to constant chasers.
As it stands today I still don't have any view on when this would be handed over.

I’ve been currently looking for a place for myself and my partner to move into London and it will be our first time moving in together. Harry from Foxton was one of the first estate agents that we had a viewing with, he was very accommodating and helpful with all the questions that we had and was very honest. Harry Oxenbury from Foxtons was a light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. Being a solo Mother my property search was long and stressful and having Harry genuinely care whether I found a place or not gave me hope. He kept me in mind for every suitable property that came up in the few months it took me to find a place. I met many estate agents that treated me like a number but Harry showed real compassion and I felt safe that unlike the rest he was going to really try and get me any place that I applied for. Although I ended up finding a place through a landlord directly I would definitely recommend him if you are searching for a property. He really did help me stay strong through all the rejection knowing that there were still agents like him out there. The odds were against me and he stood firm in my corner he’s a true gent and brilliant at his job.

Never ever trust the Foxton team. Nearly one year after I requested to refund of £500 which I paid for purchasing a flat, and still I haven't gotten my money back. They said the developer won't pay me back. If you are not professional and you don know which developer you need to work why did you put us in the dirty game? Katie Fairchild is an absolute help.

Very poor customer service. Not the firsdt time I have tried to view a property to let through this office and every time they either never get back to me on my enquiry or many days later when it is too late.
I know all agents in this area are busy, but they have just forgotten what customer service and treating people with respect is all about.

Please be very aware before renting with Foxtons. Do not use this agents as they do not care about their tenants. I have moved to a house paying £2500 and the garden is flooded due to the toilet drainage being broken extremely blocked overflowing everything I flush down the toilet into the garden. The smell is so bad that it covers 4 other houses with the problem. I spoke to Michael Patcha as first contact and he was completely careless and kept ignoring the problem and I was then asked to speak to Eleanor Reeve who keeps telling me that all she cares about is rent and that she has nothing to do with a garden flooded with bodily fluids, flies and a horrible smell knowing this is also a managed property. A lady called Lauren Manuel came to the property as policy stated they have to check all managed properties every year, so far she said she would call us back as she saw the problem but we have had no communication at all with anyone since.
I have sent emails which get ignored, I have called and been neglected.
I have very young children at home that I would like them to use the garden as it is the main reason I chose the house but sadly everything I flush down the toilet goes to the Garden therefore I can’t even open the windows as the smell and flies will come in.
Please avoid this agency at all cost.

Manu Khanna was absolutely amazing. Very dedicated, knowledgeable and hard working. He oversaw everything and handled everything professionally and calmly. He went above and beyond and worked tirelessly with all involved to resolve any issues that came up.
For me what made it different is that they recognised that our property was unique in its design and features and therefore achieving a higher sale price was possible. All the other agents failed to recognise this.

Very professional from the outset, he not only got me a fantastic price (which may have been even higher had I not hesitated at the original suggested price) but his turnaround time was incredible. He actually got me an offer lined up on the same day that I went on to the market. He has been very communicative throughout the whole process and his team have done a great job alongside him. I would highly recommend Foxtons as an estate agent if you are looking for a fantastic rental price for your property.

I can’t attest to Foxtons as a whole because I only dealt with one person… but count yourself lucky if Manu picks up your search for you. He spent time understanding me, knowing I needed to travel far for viewings so he grouped a bunch together every time I saw him. He never gave up, dealing with my pickiness and remaining excited to find me the right place. He was realistic, being truthful open and upfront about anything he thought I should know about.
We really got to know each other over the few weeks I was searching and that made our time together genuinely enjoyable. And to top everything off… even though I found a property through another estate agent, he was genuinely thrilled for me when I told him, and gave me immediate advice.
To sum up… if you want an estate agent who is on your side and genuinely cares, ask for Manu. I’m gutted I didn’t find a property with him as I would have loved to continue the property buying process together! If I end up wanting to sell in several years time, I know who I’m hunting down!

Without Alan Groom, it's not an exaggeration to say that we never would have exchanged contracts. Going above and beyond the call of duty was his clear modus operandi and my partner and I could not be more grateful.
He was able to explain the jargon associated with purchasing property and his advice was both insightful and indespensible. As first time buyers, it was imperative that we worked alongside somebody that we could trust, and we got just that in Alan and Foxtons by extension. He remained with us from initial viewings, ultimately tailoring property suggestions based on a growing understanding of what we wanted and kept a clear line of communication throughout the process. He recommended both a reliable mortgage broker and an effective law firm from which we found our solicitor. Alan made certain that we were updated on what each stage meant and what the next steps looked like. As a result, we never felt drowed or overwhelmed as we knew we had a potent support in place.
As a personal point, both myself and my partner are autistic and so the process of purchasing our first property was a nightmarish prospect with how cumbersome and unclear the process can be. That I can confidently say that I owe both Alan and Foxtons a great deal should be indicative of the quality of support they provided.

Do not rent a property through Foxtons Twickenham. They (Chris and Sandy at the Twickenham office) lied to me saying that works to the property would be completed within a weeks of moving in under an insurance claim. 8 months later and the work still hasn't been completed.
I have sent so many emails to the Property Management Team (Tas, Toral and Supriya) and had so many phone calls and nobody responds. They are the height of unprofessionalism and are by far the absolute worst estate agency in London. I wouldn't touch them again with a barge pole, even if you paid me.

Our 9th floor apartment overlooking the river in Teddington did not sell last year, despite the best endeavours of 2 different Agents, first a national name, then a local one. But then it wasn't an easy year.
We commissioned Foxtons in January of this year, and despite the continuing Covid restrictions the viewings started to come, and in some number.
The team was led by Michael Owen, Sales Manager at their Richmond and Twickenham Office, and no matter the initial absence of substantial interest and offer, he managed his regular communication to us in a planned, frequent, and throughly thoughtful way. A true professional.
Once an offer was made on our property by a prospective buyer the handling of the account switched to Manu Khanna, Sales Negotiator.
Manu then proved himself to have all the essential skills, necessary to take clients seamlessly through the process of sale - from initial offer, sales negotiation, search, survey, exchange, right through to completion.
You felt at times as though you were his only client, and we cannot fault the work ethic, attention to detail and excellent communication skills he brought to the sales process.
In summary, we cannot fault the excellent service and levels of customer service provided us by the Richmond and Twickenham Office. Thank you

I have booked a valuation for my property. I had to drive 40 mins to get there. I waited for 15 mins for Foxtons representatives to show up. I have tried to contact them, and apparently they have forgotten. We are all human being and we can do mistake. Understandable, I said I can spare another 45 mins to wait for someone to come and still couldn't even do the right thing and send someone. I will never use them again. I strongly don't recommend them, based only on the attitude working there. I have waisted around 2 hours during my working hours days, and all what they can say is sorry. They think people's time is not important. Very poor customer service.

During these tough times, full of uncertainties and worries, it's great to know that there are still a few companies out there that genuily care for people. I am more than happy to say that Foxtons Twickenham is one of those very few. I would specially like to recognise the extra mile, professionalism and highly positive attitude of Oscar Pearson.

Manu Khanna is a very dedicated agent. We approached him for advice on buying our first property (HTB, in London) and he was extremely helpful in pinpointing options for us based on specifications. As well as guiding us through the process, he also recommended a broker and a solicitor, whilst personally taking us to see some of the available builds & sites. Easily contactable (sometimes even in the weekends which makes me think he works too much!) he made sure to get in touch if he said so.

Our estate agent Alan G. was great. He really took the time to understand what we were looking for and why we were looking for a property. He didn't just show us the initial property that had piqued our interest but showed us a variety of properties to help us on our search. When we were to busy to go our on viewings he suggested virtual viewings where he personally showed us properties and answered our questions. He also had us reconsider Help to Buy properties which we had previously written off and which we went with in the end. He even went out of his way and dropped us off at a sales centre followcing other property viewings. Additionally, in these interesting times he was very covid conscious and wore a mask and gloves whenever in a property or while in the car on our in-person viewings. I would recommend Alan to any of my friends who are searching for a property in the area.

Had a great experience with Alan Groom that works at Foxtons Richmond and Twickenham. I was struggling to find flats that suited my needs, after contacting foxtons Alan called me to assess what I wanted and straight away booked me on to quite a few viewings the same day and the subsequent days, he took me around the area where I wanted to buy and gave me great advice and options, I received regular phone calls with updates from Alan something amazing as I’m a first time buyer and needed quite a lot of guidance. I was contacted by Oscar Pearson as I was looking to rent in Twickenham. I am a first timer renter so I needed advice on how to set up bills. Oscar was very professional and knowledgeable. He showed me five properties on the same day and answered all my questions.
Oscar worked hard with the landlord to finalize the property I was interested in. I will be moving into my new home in April and Oscar again has given me advice on how to set up the bills in my name.

Foxtons are full of liers and don't trust a single word they tell you when you are buying. They will do everything to make you buy. Don't take handover of keys without checking the house inside all fixtures and contents. Also, make sure you talk to the sellers about fixtures and contents, Foxtons can tell the seller that buyer wanted some additional contents like fridge/washing machine etc and sell them on their own without telling buyers. No company can go as low as Foxtons can go.

I'm the tenant at Beechwood Avenue and this review is for my letting experience in Jan this year.
So this is the 3rd time I've worked with Foxtons (last 2 properties were all with the Canary Wharf office, this is my first time with Twickenham). Sandy was my agent and he made the whole renting experience so so easy and pleasant and smooth and stress free. You can tell if an agent cares about you as a prospective tenant and your moving experience, since I've definitely worked with agents who feel like they're only there for the commission.
I remember I was late on the day of viewing, but he waited for me patiently and was all smiley and nice when I showed up. After I'd decided to take the property, I actually requested to change the move-in date a couple of times, but Sandy was all communicative and helpful and responsive the whole time. He even offered to assist with the BT router delivery since it was supposed to arrive before the key collection day.
One of the best agents I've had the good fortune to work with. Polite, efficient, non-pushy, attentive. That's why I've been working with him for the past 3 months now for my new home. The Twickenham office is lucky to have an employee like Sandy.

My partner and I were looking for our first place together and we got so lucky to end up working with Manu - he really is the best thing that could have happened to us!
We started off wanting to view one flat and Manu offered to take us around other flats in the area and which met our criteria - each one of them would have been great. Manu didn’t try to up us properties above our budget or sell us on properties which just didn’t meet our needs and he kept working tirelessly to help us find the perfect place.
After another viewing, he took us to a flat which was newly on the market and which we fell in love with. I switched to Foxtons after having no success with another local estate agent. From the very beginning I felt like I had made the right decision. Two days after my property marketing went live I had an offer and seven weeks later we completed - it was a seamless transaction. Michael Owen was my main contact and I must commend him on two things. 1) great communication, always keeping me updated and offering advice and 2) going above any beyond, such as ensuring the buyer could still obtain the keys as we neared lockdown. Excellent work by Foxtons selling our house in Twickenham. We had a marathon experience trying to keep a long chain intact through all sorts of problems. I cannot praise Adam highly enough. His persistence, experience, and reliable advice kept everything going and was instrumental in ensuring we finally got where we wanted.
I say this completely independently. I know Foxtons can seem expensive. But you get what you pay for. In our chain, Foxtons were the only “real” estate agents involved - the others were all internet estate agents like Purple Bricks, who ended up doing next to nothing once the sale price had been agreed. So in effect Adam was responsible for pushing all parties in the chain through the whole process of instructing solicitors, conducting searches, arranging surveys, renegotiating sale prices, getting quotes for remedial work, setting exchange dates, chasing fund transfers, etc, etc.
But for Adam’s hard work, our sale would certainly have taken many, many months longer, and more likely would have fallen through entirely. He and Foxtons earned every penny of their commission.

I was very satisfied with the service provided by Foxtons .. the contact person Deborah Abreu was always helpful and understood our requirements well. Having suddenly found myself in a position to relocate 2 of my employees from the current property they were in, Oliver was just fantastic! Excellent communication. Adam O'leary from the Twickenham branch was particularly conducive and had such a polite demeanour, I felt the purchase of the studio flat was in good hands.
He followed up Solicitors and Vendors for me and was extremely helpful in getting answers to my queries. He allayed my worries and was key in pushing the sale through before stamp duty hikes came into force this April. Post completion, Adam remained instrumental, allowing me direct communication with the seller.

The service provided by Adam O'Leary and his team of agents at Foxtons is by far the best I have ever experienced from any agent and in my role as a professional services business advisor. It was excellent at every stage of the selling process, from my perspectives both as a vendor and a prospective buyer.
I would not hesitate to use Foxtons again or recommend them to others considering a sale. The process can be frustrating and drawn out. Adam and his Foxtons team took away the pain and made our lives easier. A priceless benefit.
We originally used another agent but found them very far from satisfactory. Foxtons' overall approach was streets ahead of any competitor and made me feel heard, understood and valued as a customer. I cannot say the same of the previous agent.
I was very impressed by the outstanding commitment of all the Foxtons sales agents in Twickenham to familiarise themselves thoroughly with our property and present its features and the opportunities it presents to the many prospective buyers they attracted.
Some examples of the overall brilliant service:
1. All the agents thoroughly presented the flat and spent much longer with buyers in the flat than our previous agent had done, taking time to discuss the property and its potential
2. Throughout the exchange process Adam in particular excelled in his handling of all the various communications and facilitated the solicitors to speak to one another, going the extra mile to help keep us (relatively!) calm during the process
3. Adam and the team kept regularly in touch and demonstrated strong skills in marketing the property to a variety of different buyer types, being creative and dedicated to matching buyers in a way that resulted in a sale with someone who really loved the property and made us the offer we wanted.
Other great things...
4. Being open till 8pm in the evening allowed them to show around more of the type of buyer in the area who works (as both I and my husband do) in central London and arrives back too late for viewings only until 6pm or for a brief period on a Saturday. It also helped us keep in touch more frequently and all the agents have their own mobiles so communicating was easy and frequent
5. The photography was handled by a dedicated professional photographer rather than an agent doubling as a photographer. They focused on the outstanding features inside rather than outside (since we were selling a flat in a fairly unassuming building with amazing interior features). Our previous agent told us we couldn't include the interior as the main photo because 'that's not the way it's done', showing a lack of imagination and flexibility. Not so with Foxtons Twickenham.
