I have recently needed to Discharge of Security over my property. Due to current situation with COVID-19 I was apprehensive about how I would do this.

After calling three solicitors, two in Dunfermline and Neilson’s I opted for Neilson’s. This was based both on cost but mostly because of the friendly and helpful information given from the initial call.

During the process I found the process simple and straightforward. I was kept informed and given realistic timeframe.

After the initial call there was an email exchange with Claire to completion.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Neilson’s for its professional and friendly service.

Our experience dealing with the people at Neilsons was excellent. We had no previous experience with selling a property in Scotland as, although brought up in Scotland, we have lived in Canada for many years. The sale was complicated by the fact that we were in Canada when it took place. Neilsons took charge of the whole process. In addition to showing and quickly selling the flat they were extremely helpful in arranging required inspections and put us in contact with surveyors and an excellent accountant who carried out necessary capital gains tax calculations and submitted them on our behalf. What could have been a nightmare turned out to be a dream because of the professional, polite and considerate treatment we received from the people at Neilson's. Well Done!

I used Neilsons a while ago when I bought my first flat and found them really good to work with, so 4 and a half years later I knew to use them again to sell my flat and move up the ladder. Their prices are fair and I wouldn’t trust anyone cheaper and I spoke to other estate agents who seemed unnecessarily expensive.
I was unlucky with my timing as a few weeks after accepting an offer on my flat we went into lockdown and that brought its own complications. Neilsons were always available to answer my questions, concerns and rants and kept giving a fantastic service. It’s important to mention that many of their competitors did not respond the same way. A big shout out to Ginny and Claire as I know I’m an emotional customer. Now in my new flat, happy and settled I couldn’t recommend them more. They were fantastic at their jobs, especially noted as they were probably working the trickiest market of their careers. Moving home is one of the most stressful things you can do and I wouldn’t do it with any other estate agent.

I chose Neilsons to help me with my first ever sale, as I had no idea what I was doing or what to expect. They were terrific - particularly as I am now living in the US, and so couldn't come in to the office to sign things (that was kept to an absolute minimum - I only had to post one document) . Everything was explained beforehand, and all the costs were laid out. The flat got an offer after just three days on the market that too good to refuse. Then the pandemic came and everything stopped.

However, the contact with Neilsons continued and they explained what was happening as we worked through the delay, and gave me honest and frank advice on how to deal with it, and a buyer that wanted to shift the goalposts,

Selling a house can be stressful and especially during these unprecidented times we thought selling our house would fall through at the last hurdle however the service at Neilsons was amazing. Ginny at the Corstorphine Road Branch was an absolute pleasure to work with when dealing with the purchase of our house. What we liked about Neilsons is they are quick to respond through email and went above and beyond when dealing with the purchase.
