
I really wanted to like the agency. However, having just dealt with some other estate agents I can honestly say that Phillips and CO are very old fashioned and the worst at communication.
Let me explain more.
TLDR; our purchase fell through after months of discussions. We were initially told by the agent that there is no chain, after weeks of chasing they eventually confirmed that there is a chain - all that needed to happen was a phone call the vendors and some shouting at them. Anyway, We put this hurdle behind us and agreed to wait as the vendor had already found a house. It has been 2-3 months of constant chasing for updates which normally goes like this:
1. I send an email asking for an update
2. A week goes by with no response
3. I call them to find out what is going on
4. They give me an excuse that the vendors aren’t responsive but they are chasing as much as possible
5. They tell me they will call me back once they have spoken with the vendor
6. Another few days...still nothing
7. I call them, raise my tone and again get some stupid response.
I fully appreciate that the vendors aren helpful. The issue I have with this estate agent is that they have poor communication skills, no idea on how to manage customer expectations. I have never had to chase an estate agent so much, it’s normally other way around - they chase and you hide!
