Terrible. My wife and I went through Purple to rent a property in Kensington House in June 2018. They cancelled a viewing without telling us, leaving us waiting there for no one. Despite this service, we still rented the property through them. They ignored out emails outlining issues to do with leaking windows and doors, and moldy woodwork and fittings; they shrugged off our complaints about the windows and doors not keeping heat in (some had small cracks in, and were only single glazed). When they did send someone round to look at the issues, they were certainly a cowboy builder - the bath tub was resealed incorrectly, and the fireplace wasn't even looked at (the face place was hanging off the wall) Turns out, after we've left and another firm is looking after the property - all the windows have been replaced with double glazed PVC, the dodgy fireplace has been removed, and the bath tub resealed. All in all, this firm cares about their monthly figures, and once they lure you in and get the contract signed, they don't care about you as a tenant anymore. I would honestly avoid any property managed or advertised by Purple, and I would even go so far as to avoid a property I really liked if Purple were involved. Nothing special about this place, though I was fairly in good communication with the agent. It sure doesn’t shine in all aspects, it shouldn’t be rated higher than any other estate agents in the area. I also think these agents aren’t well trained to handle “other than British folks”. As an American living in England (permanent resident), I think my American twang gave away that I am not from here and immediately from that point seen like an outcast. Though having proven that I have lived here for many years and copy of my permanent work position, they shouldn’t pre-judge. For this reason I rate my experience 2/5, since I wasn’t made comfortable upon our first meeting in person and that significantly influenced my decision to not do business with this agency. If they improve the work ethics and train staff better, this agency will be worth an extra star in my books.... Read more
