I'm writing this review as a buyer of a house for sale by Saxton Mee - in particular about our experience with Janet Stevenson. Janet was an absolute delight to deal with from going through the buying negotiations through to finally completing. She was always on top of everything and kept her cool and professionalism throughout, was always helpful to us guiding us through what needed doing and where everything was up to, even when we threw a bit of a curveball in due to a bit of disorganisation and inexperience on our part. I can't imagine what she was having to deal with from the vendors and yet she remained unflappable, which was really appreciated because we all know house buying and moving can be super stressful. Simply put having someone like Janet involved can only be a good thing!

From my experience, too hard to get deposit back. I moved out a month ago, but I haven’t received my deposit back yet. I’ve tried sorting this out with Saxton Mee by sending numerous emails since the day I move out, but nothing has been resolved. I raised a ticket with the DPS to request a refund, but Saxton Mee didn’t respond to the DPS. Now, I have filed a complaint with the Property Ombudsman and Sheffield Council. Meanwhile, I am raising a statutory declaration through the DPS.

I rented a property through this agency for 6 years and overall I am disappointed by they way the tenancy has been managed throughout.
I would like to highlight that I lived in the property with my partner and 3 young children.
Although the property appeared to be clean and well maintained when we first moved in, it was not long before issues started to occur.
Initially Sandra used to send professional contractors for the repairs, but this soon stopped when the landlady decided to send her own contractor, who was a friendly guy, but appeared to carry out temporary repairs only as it was not long before the same issues reoccurred.
Just to give a few examples, the was a leaking from the upstairs bathroom every time we took a shower and water was dropping onto the kitchen floor via the ceiling neon light.
This issue has never been permanently resolved throughout the six years we lived in the property and we resorted to place a bucket in the kitchen to collect the water leaking from the shower.
We also experienced 2 flooding due to a burst pipe in the downstairs toilet that we could not stop as the property had no 'water stop tap' and this resulted in several of our personal belongings to be damaged (e.g. a PC desktop and a sofa).
Furthermore, on a rainy night, water started to overflow from the upstairs toilet and then travelling to the bedrooms and down the stairs reaching the living room.
Following the above the ceiling lights in the living room stopped working as they were full of water and one of the bulb disintegrated in my face when I remove the shed.
And the most ridiculous thing is that when I spoke to the landlady husband, who was very rude and patronizing, he did not see anything wrong with the light issue.
Following the above incident, to be fair Sandra visited the property and then tried to make the landlady to carry out proper repairs and to change all carpets as they were soaked in toilet water.
However, the carpet were never changed and I had to pay out of my own pocket to have them professionally cleaned.
The above are just a sample of the multiple issues that we experienced during our stay.
I understand it is the landlord that decide about repairs, but I believe it is also the managing agent's responsibility to ensure the property is maintained up to UK living standards and in my view Saxton Mee has failed to do so.
The property was not even suitable for animals at least over the last year.
Throughout the tenancy we have been very patient and accommodating to the landlord, tolerating delays in repairs and avoiding to escalate issues that caused us huge inconvenience.
To be honest, following the latest flooding, the house was not in a livable conditions and we should have been moved out in a temporary accommodation allowing the landlord to rectify all the issues in the property.
However, we again exercised patience and gave the landlord a chance to rectify the issues and I find it really insulting that after moving out the landlord is trying to withheld the deposit.
I will update the review when the deposit issue is resolved.

I’ve recently completed on my home with Saxton Mee. Louise and her team were fantastic and did an unbelievable job in securing our home.
The whole process was really stressful due to the level of demand in S11 and also due to our purchase being part of a complex deceased estate, this meant our mortgage offer almost expired due to the timescale taken to complete our deal.
To ensure that we completed within our mortgage offer period Louise went out of her way to ensure to all the relevant parties were communicating to ensure that the probate and relevant searches were completed within the timescales required to enable us to purchase our home.

On Friday 22nd May I completed on the sale of my house. In these very difficult times if it hadn't been for Saxton Mee's professionalism, determination and commitment the sale would not have gone.
The house was valued by Saxton Mee at a price that would attract interest and within a few days we had an offer that we could accept and then the country was "locked down". Despite the "lock down" Saxton Mee worked "behind the scenes" and ensured that nothing would hold the sale up when the "lock down" was relaxed. I have to say though it was Sarah McDonagh who acted as our sales negotiator who really sets this company apart. She was proactive, efficient, and extremely capable at every aspect of her job. Her calm competence and good counsel took the stress out of the experience and I would recommend the firm strongly based on my experience with her.

The lettings team were always very helpful, and were quick to arrange repairs with the landlord whenever we experienced problems. The assessors were very reasonable on issues of general wear and tear, and when we had problems with our moving company on departure, the team were very understanding we still received our full deposit back. Very happy with the service received.

Cath and Sandra were friendly and professional in the lettings dept at Saxton Mee. Sandra sorted out a number of repairs when things broke (faulty tap, wobbly light fitting). Overall v good.

Unorganised! As soon as they have your money, they don't like to hear from you, won't do anything for you, even though it's the people who rent who pay their wages and enable them to exists as a company. The customer service is terrible, they don't return calls or emails and then defend themselves when you try to ask them to get something done. Don't rent from Saxton Mee.
