If you're selling or buying a property in the Peak District, Saxton Mee should be your go-to choice.They have a intimate knowledge of this specialist area, the villages where the properties are located, the individual characters of each location, the peculiarities of the varying properties and an exceptional ability to listen. A shout-out for Jill Reeves who responds immediately to any email/phone call whatever the hour and has infinite (and communicable) patience with the frustrations of dealing with Solicitors' inordinate delays. Saxton Mee are an anchor for the vendor in the legal profession's lack of accountability and inability to respond to any urgency.
I recommend the Hathersage Office highly and I'm sure a similar accountability is to be found in all their branches as they have their core principles clearly in place.

I have been very impressed with Lucy, Judy and Abi at Saxton Mee with my recent purchase of a home in Bakewell.
They made themselves available for several visits around the time of purchase and immediately afterwards for surveys and estimates. They were fast and efficient with queries, liaising speedily and thoroughly with the vendor over this probated estate. Most importantly to me, was the empathic impressive level of customer service allowing my local cleaning team access to the property the day before my move, and agreeing authorisation for my removal firm to access the property in the short time before the finances had transferred on the day of removal. This saved me money and importantly- yet more cortisol and adrenalin surges to cope with on what is already and extremely stressful day. I have been absolutely delighted with both cottage and location and have already been into branch with a card and gift for the team, I was so impressed. After the recent experience of selling my flat in Hathersage, I would never again dream of going to any agency except Saxton Mee. I had had dealings with them in past years when I was letting a property and had found them competent and professional, but unwisely, when it came to selling the flat I thought I would ask a different agency. That ended by going nowhere over several weeks, so I decided to change horses.
After talking with Saxtons at the property, I signed up with them and WHAT a difference. They weren't just advertising the property but actually positively selling it! One really good feature is the continuity of personnel one is dealing with there. Another is their great way of keeping the seller informed on what stages of the sale have been completed and what has yet to be done, through their online real time Property File tool.
There were hurdles to clear along the way but whenever I was unclear about how to move forward, I called them up and talked to them and each time was advised wisely because of their experience. The sale went through, thanks to their competence, continuity and professionalism. On several occasions, Jill Reeves from the Hathersage office went way beyond the call of duty to help me.
Hats off to Saxton Mee. My sincere thanks all involved but especially the Hathersage office and Jill for keeping their promise and for their wise advice, resulting in a successful sale at a really difficult time.

At the end of last year, our mother died rather unexpectedly; we were left to sell her house and neither me nor my sister lived nearby. It was a daunting, stressful and upsetting experience. After a disastrous experience with a rival estate agent - who took awful photos, kept them on the site when we asked for new ones to be taken and treated us poorly, with little regard for our personal situation - we left, although said rivals didn't make it easy. We then met the ladies at Saxton Mee. If you're looking for professionalism, trust and to be treated like a human being (and not a commission) please go with this firm. Their staff are akin to the Wonder Women of the estate agent business. I hope they all get healthy bonuses - they deserve it - whilst they get top marks from this grateful family.

I have worked as a property developer for several years in the Peak District and over time had dealings with many of the estate agents in the Hope Valley and Bakewell areas. Having dealt with both Jill and her team at Hathersage and Jenny and the team at Bakewell I can vouch that without doubt Saxton Mee are head and shoulders above their competitors. They consistantly offer a highly professional and friendly service. Their careful approach to the property photography and presentation ensures the house looks its best when marketed to maximise new enquiries. Always kept fully informed during the sale and fully briefed before viewings are booked. Saxton Mee are the only agent that contact you on completion day to ensure the move has gone smoothly - most agents get their fee at exchange of contracts and you have no further contact. I now live in Shropshire and continuing to do property development but to date, none of the estate agents here match my experience with Saxton Mee.

We chose Saxton Mee to sell our house as they are very popular agents within the Hope Valley area. We are glad we did as although more expensive than other agents we did get the service we paid for.
Jill has been great, kept us up to date and communicated well all along. Although our sale wasn't swift, that was our choice, as we chose to pull out of the first sale and Jill had the unenviable task of informing the buyer, which I know wouldn't have been an easy conversation to have had!
We really felt that Jill worked for us, was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside we experienced was the gentleman that assisted with some viewings. He was a house clearance bloke and he constantly was looking at the contents of the house and remarking on them asking if we wanted to sell things to him. He made us feel very uncomfortable, he was also pushy and persistent. If we needed to use Saxton Mee again, God willing we won't be moving again, we would request not to have him assist with viewings.
All in all a fantastic service and we would recommend. You do get what you pay for! Well done and thank you for all your help. Keep up the great work!

Scheduled a viewing through this branch and when I arrived at the property and called them, I was told that it was sold the day before. Didn’t really care about that, but the fact I had driven miles with my baby daughter in the car, which the agent knew as it was discussed that the owner of the property was apparently ‘high risk’, whatever that means, which meant I had to view alone. I explained that baby would wait in the car with dad which I would prefer anyway, given I don’t want to take her indoors if I can help it. All in all just a complete waste of my morning, which could have been avoided with a courteous phone call.
