Great places with a massive variety of pianos, grand pianos and digital ones. The customer service is top notch. Very helpful and knowledgeable but not too pushy by all means. I was greated by Chris who answered my questions tip top, and then left me to free roam on my own and I was able to play any piano I wanted and was reassured then, if I will have any question Chris is there to assist. As somebody who likes to have the time and shop on my own, that was a really big plus for the team. What was very impressive to me, was the after sale customer service which is on a very high level. After I faced some issues with the piano, it was explained to me by Paul that the issue I have is a manufacturers malfunction, and even thou nothing could have been done with my problem, I was offered an exchange for another piano! At no extra cost! Obviously the piano I had, had to be in a almost out of the box condition. That is something that you will rarely see this days, as everybody is only about profits, not the customer satisfaction. All this together made me believe that Sherwood Phoenix is the place for my pianos. Big shout out to Chris, Paul and the rest of the team for the great atmosphere, laughs, friendly customer service and knowledge that was passed upon me while visiting you guys.... Read more

They are truly an unusual bunch among piano dealers: I bought a beautiful rare original 1901 Bechstein concert grand (likely played at Wigmore Hall's inauguration) from them to be exported to the US for my nascent musician foundation. Unfortunately, US customs did not want to follow their own published rules to allow the import of this antique with its original key covers. The Sherwood Phoenix team not only stuck with me they even spent serious time to get all the paperwork right, assisted in figuring out the faded serial number, and perfected the instrument with an original music desk and casters that it had lost. With the help of a local importer and after three (!) years of patient negotiations US customs finally recognized the legality of this import and admitted it under US law. Through all his time the Sherwood Phoenix team stood by me and my obsession. They deserve a medal in musician heaven!... Read more

A great shop full of amazing guitars and musical instruments. If only the friendliness of the staff mirrored the stock. Was unaware of the shop until today when I needed some emergency strings for a gig and was pleasantly suprised how nice it is. Tried sparking conversation but the guy was short and abrupt with me. Like he didn't want me in there. I could understand if I was a oik of a smack head or something. Maybe he was having a bad day as other reviews suggest super friendly guys....still....I'll probably stick to online purchases from one of the bigger retailers in the future.... Read more

Genuinely lovely group of people with a vast amount of experience and knowledge in their area. They do not try to sell, but suit the piano to the person regardless of your skill. The sheer number, quality and range of grand and upright pianos in this unbelievable place is just amazing - you really have to see it for yourself to understand. I did not expect to spend endless hours over quite a few days in here to find the right piano for me, but it was so enjoyable. Thank you Stephen, John, Chris and Simon for being so helpful - you all do a really brilliant job! :)... Read more

I had bought my 2nd guitar from these guys. I expected just to go in and tell them im looking for an acoustic and buy one and leave. But they immediately stopped me and said, you dont want to do that, give them a try before you buy it. I never realised how different guitars were until i tried a few. They just left me to it, didnt restrict me from choosing what i wanted to try. Gave me as much time as i needed. Ended up walking out with a beautiful tanglewood guitar. Would definitely recommend and will come back in the future when i wanna try electric guitars.... Read more
