We originally went with another agent. Started out well sold but when the sale fell apart they were no longer getting anyone through the door. We got on well with Lauren when she valued our property so decided to put our trust in her. Everything she said was right, massive interest soon as it hit the market and a bidding war resulting in a higher sale and finally completion. Don't bother with others stick with these they know what they are doing.

Very poor sales service team.
They don't answer the phone or return my phone messages.
And when you do finally speak to someone they will happily argue with you.
They ignored my emails.
The valuation.
They did their sales pitch told me they had 4 or 5 potential people that may be interested.
Once i signed the contract they was not interested, I asked them to do the viewings. I ended up doing the 1 viewing myself, a mix up in appointments apparently.
They managed to get 1 person through my door in over
3 mths.
Ive given them 28 days notice to cancel my contract, and still they cannot be bothered to advertised my property in the last 28 days.
Totally rude staff and a utterly poor service.

When we decided to put our house on the market in summer 2023. we were deciding between Buckley Brown and Bairstow Eves and decided go with Buckley Brown. The market was very slow at that time. However after being with them for a few months we only had 2 viewings, which was quite disappointing.
So we put in noticed and approached Bairstow Eves Lauren Quinton, who we spoke to initially. We found Lauren to be very pationate about her job, always willing to help outside of her role. Lauren was very transparent about the market. She also promised that she will have more viewings through our doors and continous communication from the Mansfield team. That promise was fulfilled and our house was sold.in June 2024.
I would also like to thank, Amber great communication. Katie, Melanie, Kirsty, Brandon, Ella and anyone else who was involved in the account. Such a good team. Thank you all.

Was very hesitant when deciding which letting agency to use as have usually found that apart from collecting rent and informing you of any maintenance issues, their job is done. Our experience with Meeshia was on another level. She kept us fully informed throughout and worked with us. Currently with baistow eve. And This has been the biggest mistake I could of done when renting. It has been the worst estate agent I've dealt with.
Started with first property, no repairs completed with a baby in the house. Faulty boiler, leaks from the bathroom and no bathroom door! When leaving the property, Lucy asked me to leave within 24hrs telling me landlord had let me go. When i spoke to the landlord she was not aware of any of this. When getting my report back from deposit team, Charlotte admitted to rushing it. And not actually looking at the previous inventory attempting to charge me for items which were in the property before I arrived. I had to call the landlord, due to Charlotte not making contact with the landlord to get this sorted.
Lucy and meeshia agreed I would have a refund for having to leave the property within 24hrs, it took over a 6weeks to have this sorted with constant calls and email asking why the payment has not been done and was only sorted by myself having to call the landlord as meeshia did not do this. The landlord was not aware of any amount as meeshia was telling my self one story and the landlord another. I gave my bank details over the phone, which somehow had gone missing by meeshia. Who told me she had no clue what happened, I once again gave my bank details for refund and the money was sent to a different account and not the account I gave.
When signing for the new contract for my new property Jacob told myself, partner and father in law that the rubbish outside my property would be removed. 2 months down the line I am still fighting to get this rubbish removed. The new property had cupboards full of black mould risking my baby and myself health, it was only sorted when telling baistow eve if not sorted I would contact the council and trading standards. My number was passed on by scarlett to my current landlord without my permission.
With putting 1 star due to the terrible service I have received from baistow eve, rather then having an email from Meeisha asking how any improvements could be done, she emailed me saying she always does things quickly as she can, so does not understand the 1 star. But every situation I have dealt with the mansfield branch, I've had to call the landlords myself due to the team not doing their jobs.

Sold my property before it was even posted online. When Lauren came to valuate my property, she was very easy to talk to, made me comfortable to talk business and really showed she cared on a personal level unlike some estate agents I dealt with. Amber has also been amazing with all the further completion of the sale.
These guys definitely are not the cheapest out there... But they know damn well how to operate efficiently and definitely are not the most expensive out there
Perfect middle ground for someone that wants to get "stuff" done and doesn't mind not cheating out. At the end of the the day, selling and moving can be stressful so bairstow has been worth every penny. I would happily recommend them to anyone who asked!

Letting property I supposed to move in was under work due to mould in it. After receiving my keys I went to check in. Bathroom mould hasn’t been fixed which they should before we move the in as it’s on contract , non of the inside doors would lock including toilet door, toilet is dirty, water tap dripping in kitchen, bedroom window covered with mould.
Called Lucie to referred this issues she said I have to report it at online portal which she should have done so it will make my moving easier but she didn’t
I send follow-up email never got reply back.
Every time I called, they said we will do our best to fix this issue. It’s been more than 17 days. The only thing they manage to fix is a toilet door. Mould smell so bad now we have really bad headache

Found Bairstow Eves through rentmove and zoopla. Reached out to them because one of their properties for rent was very appealing to me. Called them and we quickly set up a viewing date. On the day of the viewing, I met Jacob and Lucie. They were both friendly, patient, and made the viewing experience informative. Jacob was great with organising the paper work and sorted out payment (first week rent) on the same day to secure my room.
When collecting my keys, I met Jacob again. I can tell Jacob was prepared with the paperwork, and showed respect to me and my guarantor.
Overall, the whole experience was smooth, easy and stress-free. This was much appreciated especially since I am starting a new job!

From the moment of our valuation, we just had a sense that they were really passionate about the house and making sure it sold quickly, which it did. This was compared to the sterile and disassociated valuations performed by other estate agents. Throughout the whole process, Mollie was really helpful and worked really hard to get our property moving and then was really engaged in getting the offers we needed and supporting us through the whole process through to completion. The small team there meant that everyone in the office was up to speed on the process of our sale as well. We also had a fantastic experience with their in-house mortgage advisor, Ella, who was incredibly helpful throughout, especially with a lot of the complex financial and legal processes that we had to go through - we even got a new home card from her upon completion, a really thoughtful touch. The owner of the property I rented through Bairstow Eves was being completely unreasonable when it came to returning all of my deposit.
I successfully defended myself via the deposits protection service for all issues bar one - this was because the property manager at Bairstow Eves failed to properly communicate this to me.
If I had of been given all the information I could have included a response and evidence. I lost out £50 unneccessarily because of this. Not a lot of money but it could have been worse.
In addition Bairstow Eves themselves told me that as I did the right thing and reported a fault that somehow this made me liable?! (I won the battle for this particular item)
If you're able to avoid using these guys I would advise doing so.

This is a long awaited review. I have had a pleasant experience with this estate agents. The staff maintain integrity and certainly take pride with their customers. Mollie and Lauren who were the people I mainly dealt with during the purchase of my property regularly kept in touch with updates and also spoke on my behalf to my solicitors with any enquiries that I wasn't sure of.
The staff are highly experienced and very knowledgeable which helped a great deal and made the process easy and quick, some estate agents can be short and belittling but these girls quite often made my day with their sunny personalities.
I appreciate the gift at the end once everything went to completion. 10/10

I have rented a property with Bairstow Eves and I have stayed there for nearly 3 years. When I left not only that it took them more than 2 months to release the deposit but they have retained half of the initial deposit for some things that was damaged before I have rented the property. I know that the new tenant has moved in next day after we moved out and the new tenant has clean the garden for which Bairstow eves have retain 120£ from my deposit. The garden was left in the same state that we have taken. I am not saying that it took them 4 months to repair a main door that I couldn’t lock and I had to sleep at night with the door unlocked with a 4 years old child. I have also repainted all the house and repaired the garage and front door on my expense while I have lived there.
When I have asked about the invoices for the money that they will retain for what they are saying that has been repaired they find different excuses not to provide them.
So be careful when you renting with them as you won’t get the deposit back.

Some excellent customer service here, I liased with Beth on my big move from Cannock to Mansfield area, I had almost lost hope finding somewhere as I'd already been looking for 5 months prior to speaking with her. I have 2 pups and landlords have been so strict with a no pets rule recently then one day I found this lovely rental property with a good sized garden and a landlord that allowed my 2 rescue pups. I was a first time buyer and knew very little of what was involved in buying a home. Kirsty was lovely, very easy to talk to. She understood my situation, laid everything out for me, explained in language I understood and was very patient.
We talked through what I needed, she found me the best mortgage deal and discussed other things I hadn't necessarily thought about such as home and life insurance.

My mother sold her house with Bairstow Eves recently. The process was smooth and they made it really easy for my mother to manage. Kirsty Pilgrim came to do the appraisal. She put my mother at ease and gave a full explanation of the process, the state of the market and how best she thought it would be to market the property. She was extremely knowledgeable and confident in her sales strategy. She also came armed with research of similar houses in the area and what they are selling for / sold for. All the viewings were arranged to take place over a 2 day period and they had a representative carry them out so my mother could just go out for the day and not have to stress about it. Once the offers came in and one was accepted Liam kept in contact with my mother and sister every single week to provide an update right until completion day. All in all a fantastic service and I would highly recommend them especially Kirsty on the appraisal, valuation and marketing side and Liam on the communication and completion side.

The long drawn out conveyancing system that exists within the legal profession has been a bone of contention for years in purchase and sales.
However Mollie kept me informed throughout chasing up both sets of solicitors in order to ensure a prompt and smooth transaction. During my life time I have bought and sold 8 houses and would say that working with Mollie from Bairstow Eves was the smoothest and less stressful than any other estate agents that I have been involved with.

I had a bit of an issue with another agency where they gave out two set of keys and had double booked "my" room... Not great... It left me with only two or three days to find a new place to live or I'd be stuck.
The staff at Bairstow Eves managed to book viewings for me, showed me a number of options and managed to get all the paper work filled (even working overtime for me staying about an hour after the store closed) to ensure that I was able to move in on time, despite the complicated situation I came to them with. As you can imagine I was very stressed during this time but they did their upmost to reassure me and walk me through every step that we needed to take to allow me to move in asap. This was my first time moving into a private rental as I've been a student all the other years I've been alone, so explaining these things for me was important and they have so far been doing an excellent job.
So again thank you to the staff and I couldn't give higher praise. Definitely a passionate and dedicated team who care about their tenants.

I have used Bairstowe Eves for the selling of my house, and it was sold within a week. Pretty much speaks for itself.
They organized photos, floor plans and advertising. All of which were to a high standard. I had about 12 viewings in the space of 4 days, and had sold within a week!
Communications on a daily basis, and no issues so far. I've only just sold, but I would expect this continue until we have completed as they seem professionals.
Lauren has been looking after my sale. I think that she has gone above and beyond from what I would have expected her to. With dealing with my buyers, solicitors, house enquiries etc. There have been a number of challenges, and Lauren has dealt with them in an efficient and professional manner.
They always answer the phone or ring back promptly.

Initially however I felt like I was pressurised into choosing their solicitors. I didn't have one set up when my offer was accepted and when I told them that I needed a day to sort it I was told that if I didn't give a solicitor name by the end of the day, my offer was accepted at 4pm so that left me an hour to sort, that they would have to tell the vendors who may choose to pull my offer. This was unfair and pressured me into accepting their "in house solicitors" who was actually in Manchester.

I gave a months notice, I got several phone calls asking if i was able to leave early as they had new tenants interested and wanted to move in ASAP. I agreed to leave 3 weeks earlier than i originally planned. I had been gone 2 weeks and heard nothing in terms of partial refund as I had paid for that month, baring in mind i was told i would get it when i left. Called to chase to be told the new tenants had dropped out and I was able to go back to the property. I asked how as i handed the keys back weeks ago, i mentioned about the partial refund on the rent to be told because the new tenants dropped out i wasnt entitled to my rent back as the property was still mine until the original date I gave, even when they ASKED me to leave earlier than the date I gave. It was the first time i rented, i only wanted to do for a short period of time and I will NEVER EVER rent again due to this absolute shambles of a estate agents.

All members of the team were very pleasant and charming and helpful .
The photographers used by Bairstow are expert and talented and produced a stunning set of photographs of the property . Again this contrasted with my experience with the Buckley Brown photographers - where I had to reject reject three sets of ‘takes’ and was not very satisfied with the ultimate set.
Bairstow Eves faced the challenge of selling this property “ off market “ , rose to that challenge and obtained a great number of viewings in a complicated lockdown market.

Bairstow Eves Mansfield have been excellent helping to sell my house since March. The lockdown made things especially difficult as most services for the housing market came to a stand still during this difficult time (and is still ongoing while writing this review). However once the lockdown eased, Bairstow Eves got right back onto the sale. Particular mention to Lauren who pulled out all the stops to setup viewings and securing a buyer and throughout the process was in constant contact. There were many ups and downs as is typical with selling and buying properties but Lauren was never phased and finally the house was sold.
Would I use Bairstow Eves again? Of course I would. Friendly, hard working and professional. Excellent stuff.

Went for a Saturday viewing at the property. The guy who let us into the property was dirty, had food (what we thought!) spilt down his top and wasn't even dressed in a shirt/trousers. He merely stated "I can't open the garage", unlocked the door and disappeared. There were cobwebs everywhere, spiders deceased on the floor and the place was in a state. It turns out they'd double booked our viewing time, which we also felt was unprofessional. We left after three minutes or so, and just said goodbye. Both feedback was asked for by the man showing us around, no conversation.
Considering when you go to places that are selling with HoldenCopley, etc. and the seller is suited and booted, keen, engaging and professional; this is far below what you'd expect.
Had the cheek of passing on my information to their Nottingham branch who cold called me, even though I didn't state I was wanting to sell my property with them.
Not impressed. These companies charge thousands and you'd expect professional, especially when the house was on the market for over £400,000.

I was a bit sceptical with going to an estate agents to rent a home but I found them extremely professional. I am unable to walk and don't go outside, so going through the visits by family and details not by myself was very difficult. But Gemma Bailey was thorough in making sure I had all the information I required and kept in touch through email for everything. Pretty good experience with buying a home from them. A couple of things could be improved: 1. If someone is gone for a day or two, then automatically passing emails on to a colleague would be better than sending an automated reply saying you aren't there, thus having to find the email address of one of your colleagues to resend to. 2. It would be great if you handled the whole move beginning to end, rather than stopping short of making keys available to the buyer at the property. Luckily the vendor left some keys hidden for us in her large garden, but if I'd had to call into town to get the keys that would have made an already very stressful day even worse, as we had three removals vehicles to deal with and I was also towing something large which would have meant parking anywhere remotely near the estate agents in the town centre would have been practically impossible. I would have been happy to pay a small fee for the keys to be handed over at the property if necessary with confirmation of my ID with driving licence etc. Anything to reduce the stress of the day rather than further add to it.

Absolutely awful. Firstly when I rented the place they didn't do a proper inventory, a 5 year old could have done the job they did, they listed just whatever was in the flat. Didn't safety check anything, the hoover literally set alight when used. Luckily only inside and didn't set the flat alight.
Then when I left, they withheld the deposit, claimed they hadn't heard from the Landlord despite the fact that it is in the report he submitted evidence, or at the very least they submitted a reason why he was keeping the deposit without his contribution, which is many kinds of wrong. They disputed that a TV and Hoover was missing, both were in the flat.
They were also so incompetent, that they claimed I broke the window, then submitted the report from the company that fixed it, stating that the window wasn't broke through negligence or misuse.
Absolutely, god awful, please please please, never use this company. I am so glad they never got a penny after I left as I was awarded the whole deposit back despite the fact they lied in their dispute, because they were so incompetent at lying in the dispute. But it has taken 4 months to get here as they refused to cooperate.

At the beginning of the year my wife and I began the task of finding our forever home. After 5 months of stress and heartache we have found our house. Now, while we didn't find our house with Bairstow Eves I still feel the need to write a review. We have had dealings with pretty much every estate agent in the district and one person stood head and shoulders above the rest. Darbi is a true credit. She was friendly, professionally and endlessly helpful. She was in contact on a regular basis to keep us updated with available properties but also to check on us. I have nothing but praise and if we ever decide to move Darbi will be my first port of call.

I recently (31/03/16) completed on a property as a buy to let sold through Bairstow Eves. Having agreed a sale with the vendors last November they struggled to find a suitable property to move into. With an April deadline to meet for buy to let purchases I was keen to complete before then to avoid having to pay stamp duty.
I cannot praise Lucy at Bairstow's enough for all her hard work and communicating with various parties and keeping me informed throughout what was quite a difficult and nerve racking purchase.

Seen a property to let on rightmove out of office hours so emailed the agent to arrange a viewing, got a call back so I said I'm interested and would like to take a look and was told they needed some further details so they emailed me what they needed, I emailed back all the info and waited.... Heard nothing so I called them the day after before they closed to see if they had received the info and arrange a viewing only to be told viewings are the day after so I asked for a after work slot but they were all taken so I'm thinking why did they not call me about viewings on the property I expressed and interest in? And all the time being told of other similar properties that I wasn't interested in which they would have know if they read the info they asked me for. The girl said there would be further viewings and the house was popular and won't be going first come first served due to this so I could arrange a viewing another day and it would be no problem, Then the girl asked if she could give me a call in the morning to sort something as they were about to close, I said OK then went home and talked to my partner and figured out we could actually go to the morning viewings and I could shut my shop for a hour to do so, first thing in the morning before they opened I emailed saying the morning was possible so if I could get the morning call that was arranged first thing then we could arrange it asap, never got a call.... I emailed again and I finally got a reply saying viewings were over and they expected someone would sign for it that day and they would let me know about that and other similar properties... So something as simple as going for a look at a property seemed all but impossible for this letting agents and for the extortionate fees they charge to apply for these houses on top of high rental prices you really would expect a more professional service and to be treated a lot better
