Please don't rent from these, especially if you have children. They have no concern of the saftey of their tenants at all. We fought for 2 years to get a leaking roof fixed. We ended up getting the local MPs involved. The house was full of mould, bowed ceilings due to the damage and we had water pouring from the ceiling and down the walls. Multiple times we were left with no hot water due to a shoddy boiler which British gas had actually condemned. We were also left without a working toilet. After the council forced them to repair the roof they gave us an eviction notice, the same week our baby was due to be born, which they were fully aware of. Then had the nerve to try and keep all the security deposit, and fabricated evidence. Luckily we had proof of all communications along with photos and videos. The council told us that they have had multiple complaints from tenants about this lot. Bunch of crooks... Read more

No support during rental - had to endure rats for the last 3 months Had an inspection before we left and we were told the property is in good condition only later to hear via the DPS that they have requested to keep the vast majority of our deposit for damages. Poor customer service and don’t bother to communicate information to their tenants. They would rather let tenants know of changes to their tenancy agreement weeks down the line. When approached about not communicating information they don’t accept accountability or even respond to emails. Keep up the poor reputation estate agents have with their tenants.... Read more

Poor customer service, very rude staff.. I found an advertisement on rightmove by SL homes for a 3 bedroom house for let, l sent the mail by expressing my interest. I didn't hear back anything for 4 days. I phoned them couple of times, said viewing is not started for that property. After a week phoned again and asked, then a lady said landlord found their own tent. After 2 days l sent mail for another property, same story happened again.Poor communication with clients and not trustworthy. Waste of time... Read more

Had a viewing in one of their houses for renting, told them I was interested about it and they replied "leave it on us we will be back on u on 2 days to take some information about u so the landlord can choose which tenant to go with for the house". 2 Days later noone contacted me, I called them at least 5 times, no reply, send them email to ask what happened, to get the answer " The landlord decided to go with another tenant". One star is generous. Absolutely disgusting letting agent. Puts Tennant's at risk, only care about money. Rude and condescending manager. My toddler injured himself at the due to a fence between my house and the property rented by this vile establishment that hasn't been replaced and we have been asking since January 2019. He required hospital treatment and stitches to his head that will now scar. During a heated conversation with the manager he said and I quote :"it is what it is" Do not let your properties with this place and do not rent from them. They do not fulfil their basic duties and leave tenants and neighbours at risk for months on end. DO NOT RECOMMEND... Read more

DO NOT GO THROUGH THESE AGENTS - biggest waste of time!!!! I had been in contact with them for over a week, they had put up a property on Rightmove and removed the listing straight away. We had asked if we could book a viewing or get the dimensions of the property room, to which we were told we'd get a call straight back. They will never call you back, you must call them to get told they will call you back again. I then was able to get through to a (nicer slightly more helpful gentleman) who told us we could book a viewing with them for Monday. To which we accepted, booked off work and made arrangements to come. Only when i ring in the morning, after two emails being ignored, do they tell me again they will ring me back to confirm.... and get a text through to say the viewing is cancelled. The staff have always been helpful, professional and prompt to contact me if the tenants have had any issues so that I can organise repairs. They will organise repairs if needed. They have always been quick to let the properties, the properties have never been vacant for long between tenants. I would highly recommended them.... Read more

Quality of customer service really depends on who happens to be working at the time. When we first moved here, they were quite helpful (thought we didn't have many problems at the time). One guy was extremely helpful and a socket fixed for us within 24 hours. Unfortunately, the person I dealt with regarding our broken oven was rude, unhelpful and uncommunicative and the follow-up emails from another member of staff have been blunt and unhelpful, just repeating information we already knew. Trying to contact SL Homes over the summer about a different issue took so long that I basically gave up on it for several months, as nobody would return my calls or emails. For the amount of rent you pay, you'd think they would be able to employ some more staff.... Read more

If you want to rent a property in Sheffield. DO NOT use this letting agent. Maintenance, ignore issues with properties and expect you too 'fix' doors, Taps, electrical issues and general maintaince to the property. They treat you as if you are disposable and are nothing until you leave the property. I have rented 7 different properties and lived all over the UK. The letting agents are incompetent and rude. Use a different letting agent if you want to be treated with dignity.... Read more

Me and my partner rented a property from them for two years. In that time we had nothing but trouble when requesting for repairs to be done. In the month of November our boiler packed in and this was not repaired until February which resulted in no heating for the whole winter. Our ceiling caved in due to a bodge job from a plumber who apparently repaired the bath correctly. This issue never got resolved despite being told that someone would come out to repair. My advice would be to go and look for private rent instead of paying over priced rent to these cowboys. We eventually moved out without notice as the conditions were not even fit to leave a dog in. My only regret is that i eventually paid them the last months rent. Stay well clear.... Read more
