I wanted to identify the amazing help Laura has been with me over the last few months. I was looking to purchase a house and she was amazing given me hints and tips and trying to find out information to help with purchasing a home. Had the misfortune of being recommended this firm and decided to use them to handle my divorce. Huge mistake. Mr Tait provided a thoroughly shocking service representing me. I won’t bore with specifics but some highlights are: Failed to turn up to court once and failed to be prepared a second time resulting in the sheriff awarding damages against me - which his firm absorbed as it was their fault. Or so they said, the final bill breakdown was so flimsy I suspect he just charged me extras elsewhere to cover this. Money (a huge amount) paid to him to be sent to another Falkirk firm took SIX WEEKS and many threats to finally be transferred. This should have taken less than 48 hours. Final bill double original estimate. His representation was so shoddy I looked at taking them to to Ombudsman, and a solicitor agreed I had a case but in the end decided it was too much stress. I wish I’d looked at google reviews first, the service was horrific and cost me a fortune as well as a lot of stress. They are slow, terrible communicators and the office practices are stuck in the past. Lesley Anderson Law was the solicitor for the other side and seemed to do a formidable job. But in all honesty I’d recommend the ambulance chasing lawyer from The Simpsons over Mr Tait.... Read more

I don't think i was ever a customer, even after 6 months. I was assigned Mr Tait, easy to talk to on the 1 time i eventually got him. Maybe my business was too small (house sale and confirmation) my experience would be avoid at all costs, they're either understaffed or Mr Tait is incompetant, there were others who would also fail to return calls or in the face of it seemly do nothing (at least for me). I won't name her as it's not her name on the business. Consider this they arrange a telephone meeting with me at 10am 8/12/20, I call at 9:58 'Mr Tait is talking to someone else I'll have him call back' 9th of December, still no call. Tait MacLeod, don't call me, don't send a bill. You're fired and I'm angry you've wasted 6 months and hopefully i've not lost the offer on the house, or you WILL here from me. You don't deserve the 1 star needed to allow this review.... Read more

Tait Macleod was commissioned to carry out a transfer of titles for which I was told would only take a 3-4 weeks by Fraser (younger one). As communicated to Fraser this was ideal given the time critical factor i faced. 5 weeks had passed so I decided to prompt them for a status update. To my disbelief I was told that they hadn't even started the process due to having a backlog which is understandable given the current climate. I was then told that Fraser would start the process on the Monday the following week. 9 weeks had elapsed in total so I decided to follow up and again to my amazement the paperwork still hadn't been submitted. I was then given a similar excuse to the first. At this point I then advised them to have my paperwork ready for collection that afternoon. When I visited the premises to collect my paperwork I immediately noticed my envelope containing my titles deeds and supporting paperwork with my full name on show for everyone to see. I then asked to collect my paperwork to which I was given the envelope described in the above without any challenge for identification. I then asked for an explanation as to why the process hadn't started to which the response was I do not know. I also believe that the true total costs were not communicated as I have been in talks with several solicitors who all seem to have the same costs involved for that service. Normally I wouldn't have bothered as I'm quite an easy ozzie person but on this occasion were the transfer of titles was time critical I felt that more could have been done to facilitate my requirements i.e. better communication with regular updates.... Avoid this company like the plague. I don't make a habit of giving bad reviews but Mr Tait was so bad to deal with I feel I should warn you. Several phones calls, several emails. No reply. Took 3 months to send a written offer on the house I was buying. Thank goodness for the lovely receptionist/secretary who passed me onto Eileen who was much better. Moving house is stressful enough, I had a heavily pregnant wife and needed things to be much smoother than they were. They are cheap for a reason. Bite off more than they can chew. Pay the extra £200-300 for someone better when moving house. You won't regret it.... Read more

Awful. Pathetic. Useless. Avoid at all costs. Approached to deal with my late father's estate. They sat on this for 2 whole years!! My mum repeatedly hassled them. Phone calls were not returned virtually ever. We were never able to figure out if this was common practice due to the grossest incompetence known to man or that the employees of this firm were engaged in an elaborate form of satire, role play or possibly even a social experiment to pretend that they work in the legal profession. In the end, we got them investigated by the law complaints society of Scotland. That was mainly to get my father's documents back. Save yourself a ton of hassle and use someone decent. Unless of course you have access to a plentiful supply of Gaviscon to deal with the vast amounts of stress that will ensue.... Read more

Absolute shambles of a place. Don’t go with them just because they’re cheaper. They don’t return calls, emails, their lunch is 1-2 and under no circumstances will they answer calls or emails on this break – even when they promise to do things in the morning, and then don’t bother. You need to wait and seethe until they decide to come back after 2. Our personal experience was going a week without them returning calls or emails, and only took the call on our moving day. They then blamed it on the Estate agent and owners of the house. Said they would speak to the estate agents and get times for us to get the keys. They called and told us things were fine and to collect the keys at the estate agents. Only to turn up to the estate agents at half 1 to get the keys. Tait Macleod hadn’t called them all morning, so they lied. And they hadn’t given authorisation for us to get the keys either. So we called them, but it’s their lunch, so had to wait in the car for over half an hour until they came back. Half an hour later we had A key. They’ve been terrible to deal with and I won’t go near them again with a barge pole. They say First Time buyers should have it easy? Not with Tait Macleod, look elsewhere.... Read more
