Despite having been told about a potential fraud, Russell Taylor would not remove a listing from a dubious property dealer when it was instructed when the dealer had no ownership of the property. The resident who was living in her matrimonial home, had to spend thousands of pounds in legal fees to prevent a very hostile and distressing situation. Despite several emails and phone calls there was no response from the auction house. I conclude that this auction house lacks morals and ethics. They are therefore in my opinion not to be trusted.... As with previous reviews, Stay away from this auctioneer. I've seen the same property 3 times in auction. Each time it gets sold and I presume the buyer had no idea of the fees and when it goes to their solicitor they say no and lose their deposit. I purchased a property from mchugh and Co and they are exactly the same outfit. STAY AWAY... Read more

This would be zero if it could be. After purchasing a flat via their auction site they took my deposit with out their due diligence on the seller. The legal pack made available after the sale had all kinds of information missing as well as extra special conditions that equated to an extra £8000! After trying to pull out of this deal and have my payment refunded via my solicitor Taylor James were non responsive & I ended up losing nearly £10,000 from a fraudulent company with no help from Taylor James at all. I encourage anyone looking at a property been sold by Taylor James to seek a solicitors advice first as Taylor James will be of no help once they have taken money from you.... Read more

Caution to all potential buyers!! This auction is a front for a man named Nathan who is milking buyers with these hidden fees. The propertys listed are all his personal stock and each lot is priced at a silly guide to entice novice buyers- a £5000 purchase will land you will £6000 in fees, buyer then pulls out and its re listed this is then repeated - please check the lots and serch these within google and you will see they are all passed from one auctioneer to another SDL,AUCTION HOUSE ETC . *** keep well away from this auctioneer *** Agreed a preferential price below reserve as the seller was a neighbour. Once I communicated our deal with the auctioneer instead of following clients instructions to exchange of my offer Taylor James began ignoring my calls and sold the property someone else as they seen this as a opportunity to buy internally. Sounds very suspicious.. Just opened a case with property ombudsman. Take my genuine advise keep well away... Read more

I've just completed on a property I bought in the last auction! Extremely happy with the service received. Reviews I had read stated there were extra fees in the legal pack, however, once I contacted the office, I was advised by the team that all terms and conditions (including any extra fees) would be included in the legal pack provided before bidding. I would definitely use Taylor James in the future, and am looking forward to the next auction.... Read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Vendor gave instructions to them to exchange contracts on our offer at a preferential price as he was our 30+ yr neighbour. James Taylor auctioneers did not follow clients instruction and sold the house to another party at the same price whilst me and my husband were waiting for account details to deposit funds and were being ignored. In the background Jame Taylor were lining someone else to take our opportunity away. They took our potential family home away from us! This company should be shut down permanently as it is fraudulent!!!... Read more

Stay well away from this auctioneer .. sale agreed with the vendor all confirmed and agreed purchase price . Happy to pay the reservation fee all of a sudden no contact from the office or email correspondence numerous calls from myself and my business partner . Many hours later we receive a call that the offer has been rejected all of a sudden and another offer has been accepted without any viewings taking place as we was present at the property .We will be taking this to the property ombudsman and taking legal action . Clearly an inside job where the auctioneer has sold the ‘deal’ to another client / investor without informing anyone and not taking the best interest for the client at any stage as we had been willing to offer much higher... Watch for hidden fees from sellers like the one I bought from of £7000 hidden in the legal pack. Surely such vast sums of money should be headlined clearly like fuel prices on a petrol forecourt. Feel ripped off / Robbed. ............ In response to the reply, all I can say is there seems to be quite a number of people saying the same type of thing, I've just looked at other popular property auction houses based in Leeds and there is virtually no reviews such as this. (Common Denominator) - Maybe you should consider the ethics of who you offer to sell for?? Big businesses don't loose just idiots like me that they are rubbing their hands together for.... Read more
