I have now moved house since 30th of October and Dixons still have not returned my deposit despite the landlord contacting them giving them permission to return my deposit 14 days ago.
Just to follow up on this matter.
I still have not received my deposit back. Still waiting after numerous phone calls and emails to the manager.

Dixons - Erdington Branch - my brother and I sold our late parents property through Dixons Erdington. Charlotte Rose is a magician! Charlotte was superb from the outset with open and honest discussions about the property and excellent advice to sell the property via the Modern Auction Method. Charlotte had developers/buyers on her books who didn’t waste time. They visited the house and confirmed the same afternoon that they wanted to buy the house. A stress-free sale with no fuss and no mess. Also, Charlotte was very supportive, caring and assisted with arranging ID checks and documentation for my brother. Charlotte, again, turned into a magician by having a stunning flat on her books which was perfect for my brother and she negotiated a great price. Unfortunately there was a toilet pipe leaking problem, Gina Neves the Portfolio Manager was able to swiftly deal with the issue and find a plumber and explain the different costs, all communication via email as I’m out of the country. Peace of mind is very important. All fixed. Thanks!

Admittedly, they took on my house when there was a bit of a downturn in the market and I lost a little faith at the time, but as they know their area like the back of their hands, they worked the phones and got me some very good viewings, which ultimately led to a final sale.

Following week came, no contact made so I tried several times to contact the office. Never any answer. Next thing you know property has been let. Poor/lack of communication, I don’t appreciate my time being wasted.

If I could give no stars on this branch I would. Spoke to Charlotte and asked her nicely to arrange access to rented property. She was so rude and unassertive on the phone it made me sick to the the stomach. What amazes me she is also an assistant manager. I politely asked to speak to the manager of the branch and she would simply decline transferring me to manager. Horrible customer service and horrible property management. It also applies for sale of property. AVOID this agent at any cost.

Is subletting to immigrants a thing now while still holding viewings for the same property. Apparently it is now. Dixons clearly have no respect for their tennents or the neighbours around them. I've so far up until now had one of their tennents try to force their way into my front door as well as use my bins for their rubbish. Not to mention the yala yala yala during the early hours of the morning. Some of us have jobs to go to. Hello! Indoor voice... Politics aside, a little respect goes along way but I guess as long as Dixons get paid, who cares about that these days. This country used to be great, now we're overrun by them so how can these people afford to live here when they don't work unless the government are paying you to house them temporarily. They don't speak English, will never learn to socially integrate with the local community and no doubt send any money they do have home to bring more of them here. I feel like a minority in my own community. This is why I refuse to vote for a broken system that cares more about people from other countries than it does about the people who were born from the very people that made this country, fought for this country and died for this country. What do these people bring. Nothing but open hands and empty hearts for anything other than their own interests... And you're rehoming them for financial gain. That's not charitable in the slightest, it's exploitation. You don't care about these people, what happens to them when you find actual tennents, do you turf them out onto the street once they have served their purpose. Do local government know of this??? This is the reality of Dixons, so be very wary of what you are contributing towards when renting or buying from these people. Disgusting behaviour.

I did a bit of shopping around before selecting a local lettings agent and was quite dissapointed as a few other highly ranked lettings agencies in Erdington never picked up or returned my calls, others - were only able to arrange evaluation in a week's time at earliest. By contrast, I managed to get through Adam at Dixons on my first call and he was available for property evaluation at my earliest convenience. We had evaluation arranged for Tuesday afternoon following which we agreed to proceed with Dixons as Adam was able to offer competitve prices and we were comfortable that it was very easy to get hold of him (again, in contrast to the other local lettings agencies). On Wednesday Adam came around to take photos of the property. The advert for the property went live on Thursday and on Friday morning we had 5 viewings booked for the following Monday morning. By Monday afternoon we had 4 offers. In total, it took less than 5 days from the evaluation to the receipt of the offers. Throughout these days, Adam kept us up to date with the progress. Once the applicant was selected, it took 4 days to complete the checks and get the agreement signed.
We would like to say a big thank you to Adam for such a fast and pleasant transaction - his experience, expertise, professionalism and availability made this stressful time quite easy on us.
I would 100% recommend to other landlords who are looking to let not to waste their time and effort on other local lettings agencies and just go with Dixons as they won't be beaten on the price, efficiency and effectiveness.

Had a particularly complex sales journey whereby there were various unforeseen circumstances and obstacles in selling my Dad's property, plus one of the buyers was overseas which required alot more checks. This required regular intervention by Dixons to move the sale along. Left alone the whole sales journey would of ground to a halt. Sarah Blair and her team were brilliant. Sarah was on the case and as soon as updates were available she contacted me so I was fully aware of what was going on. I recently began renting a property through Dixons and would like to thank the team for all of their help. Hassan showed me around the property and made organising the contract very seamless. He has always helped with queries in a timely manner and made sure I was content overall. I've had issues with letting agencies in the past and I'm confident I won't have that with this team.
I have experienced some issues within the property whilst living here and the team liaise very well with the landlord to get things fixed. Harry, the property manager proves to be just as helpful. My oven didn't work when I moved into the property, and Harry was persistent to get it fixed after several visits, always looking for a new way to solve the issue. He made sure to remain transparent and always kept me updated. This issue affected me financially as I couldn't cook and both Hassan and Harry put my mind at ease as I could trust they would find a solution. Often, tenants can worry that they won't receive adequate support but this team show they are completely impartial and support both the landlord and the tenant.
It is clear that this team cares about building rapport with their clients. Having consistency with the staff has been a great help. I recently had a property inspection and Hassan was very friendly as usual and made sure to document any concerns I had about the property. This was particularly helpful as I got used to living with some things that were a slight concern. He also followed up with a small request I made that I thought could easily be forgotten.
Overall, I'm so grateful for all the help this team at Dixons have provided me. With their efficiency, kindness and dedicated support for tenants, I would highly recommend to rent with them and their landlords. If I ever choose to leave the area, I would definitely be disappointed to miss out on this team.

If you're a landlord I would say stay away from this Dixons at all costs. It's not worth it renting your property with them. They're OK to take their 10% or 5% property management fee yet they won't help to look after your property or retrieve the rent.

I've known my tenant for many years so did not require their full management service, but as a first time landlord Nadia's guidance and support through the process, certificates required, etc was invaluable. Absolute time wasters. I have been actively looking for a property to rent. Three weeks ago I contacted the agent, to book a viewing, agent called me back a week later to inform me viewing was cancelled, as the property was taken, I was a little disappointed but thought hey, I then showed an interest to another property, this time speaking to another agent, the agent booked me in, funny enough on the same day, I received an email from agent when I first called them, about another property, this one didn't quite catch my eye, but I agreed to view it, I was honest, informing them, it was not for me, after the viewing, I mentioned the property that I really liked, agent said you would really like this one, re-confirming the booking on 11/06/2020 at 16:45, on the day I tried to contact the office, to confirm the go ahead, no answer, I tried several times, then received a text at 16:20, second time round ''Your viewing for …….. has been cancelled as the property is no longer available. Thanks Dixons', it makes me wonder if they just pick and choose who they want as tenants,, cancelled on me twice, It would be good to see record, of how many people made an enquiry, date and time, I'm sure I was one of the first, where's the fairness in that, not even a viewing, again absolute time wasters!!

Despite this and the understandable frustration it caused the seller, Sarah and Sam at the Erdington branch of Dixons were excellent. I'm a hard task master and don't suffer fools gladly. I must say they all do a great job and meet the target timescales to find great tenants. I had a very short turnaround for when I needed to move to the area and Amy and Nadia where So helpful it made the whole process so much easier. After telling them I needed to be in within two weeks for the start of a new job and moving from north wales they sent me over more properties that where up for rent and assured me that everything would be sorted within my given timescale. With having the view all properties within one day I was able to find the perfect flat in the area that suited all my needs.
Even after moving in they have always been at the end of an email answering any of my questions I have and have definitely helped the transition so much easier. After having a rather unplesant experience with building societies that turned us down for a mortgage, we lost every hope that we would be able to get one but then we met Danielle Robinson at Dixons and made it all possible. At first she guided us through a few steps to build up our credit score, afterwards Danielle was able to offer us few mortgage deals that again she provided us with the best advise on which mortgage to go for. There is a fee for arranging all this but is not much and is well worth it, you don't have any stress or doubt as you would have with a building society or bank. Since then we remortgaged twice with Danielle and she got us really good mortgage rates, not only that, a few members of our family have had a very pleasant and successful application with her and other colleagues from countrywide in different areas in Birmingham and surrounding Cities. Team provided us with an excellent service. We had initially registered with another agency and in the months they had our property, we had to chase for updates. That particular company did not make us feel that we were priority. 18 weeks and no result Dixon’s team were SO different. We had updates from get go. Every viewings set up, we got email and text messages. We knew who was going into our property and the outcome. They made us their priority.
There was a constant communication with Sarah, she was the glue ~ our SUPER glue. She was our point of contact from point of sale agreement. I am from London, and didn't really know much about Birmingham, but have been priced out of buying a property in London. I heard that Birmingham was an up and coming area for property investment, so I started to research, but still wasn't quite sure. I contacted a few estate agents in Erdington, but they were all a bit relaxed with getting back to me. Some were even rude enough, not to respond. Mathew Groves from Dixon's in Erdington made contact with me and was amazing with the information he gave me, regarding areas to look at, what to look out for and other general information. He was always courteous and polite.
After being shown a few properties, Mathew recognised what I wanted and found me a beautiful Victorian property that was well within my budget.
The whole experience from start to finish, being under Dixon's care was totally worthwhile. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for a property in Birmingham, West Midlands, as not only are specific branch members knowledgeable about the areas they are covering, but the Dixon's company on a whole, are very courteous towards their customer's. Every member of staff that I encountered, were always professional with their approach.
