I'm a landlord letting a property through Chancellors Chesham. Back in March a repair was requested by the tenant. I approved it, the contractor's quote, and paid it. Thought nothing more of it. In November the tenant mentioned to me directly it still needed doing. After a lot of back and forth Chancellors blamed the non-repair on March's lockdown. Fine. Whatever. Mistakes do happen. The job got requoted as the scope was now worse. I again approved and paid the quote. Now 4 months later the tenant mentioned it still isn't done and he's just going to do it himself. This is, by a country flippin' mile, the worst service I've had from a letting agent as the landlord.... Read more

I rented recently with Chancellors. It seems there are some fake reviews here. But the lettings reviews are 100% correct. They are nice when it suits them eg whilst selling a place. Renting from them was an absolute nightmare. The lettings team are lying constantly, played the same game by whitholding my deposit even though the landlord had said it was fine and to allow me to have the deposit back. On top of that, the check in and out inventry, don't use them. They are not legit and have a deal with them. They will try their best to keep back the deposit. And will want their own cleaner to do the job, if you refuse they will be looking for any fault or create a fault. I would strongly suggest if you rent, go else where! These people are liars, especially the ladies in the lettings department. I will never use them again and will ensure all my friends and family go else where going forward.... Read more

Chancellors don’t even deserve 1star very unprofessional we have been lived 2years in 21 pond park road since June 2017 and we moved out 1st June 2019 we paid rent on time every month and also we paid deposit which we suppose to get back end of tenancy it’s been 7weeks when I call chancellors they blame landlord delaying when I call landlord she blame chancellors is delaying that’s how they playing game chancellors don’t help tenants at all and I hired professional cleaning whole house clean garden washed carpet painted whole house for landlord she is still making £200 false claim after 6weeks for washing machine not clean and keys broken in windows locks keys it’s never mentioned in check report keys was already broken in locks and rusted when we moved in 2017 when she want some work done she talk very sweet... So useless and unprofessional, they have made mine and my partners first time renting a horrific experience, been lied too on many occasions by all staff at the branch, they are a joke to get hold of and will only contact you when it suits them, after many attempts of contacting the Chesham Chancellors branch and speaking with there main offices we were told that the person we were trying to contact never exsisted? Was told to call someone else who still never answered the phone or got back to us, she would call us back for about 2 seconds then hang up to create the illusion that they had been trying to get in touch with us, after she was trying to resolve a situation for us and came round to inspect the property she said everything was fine and would speak to the landlord about our issue, many phone calls after this due to her late response and lies we had a month to find somewhere else to go from false accusations from a neighbour who has been terrorising us since we moved into the property and a lot of personal family issues. Chancellors did nothing to help us what so ever all they did was put words in our mouths and ignore us constantly. I would never use chancellors again, If I could give them 0 stars then I definitely would. Letting’s manager is a complete joke.... Read more

Staff lied multiple times about the property we were moving into. This includes the agreed price with the landlord. The keys were late on move in day and they tried asking us to move in the next day. Specific details we asked about they lied about too. Everything about this branch is unprofessional and I would not go through chancellors or recommend them to friend. I called this morning to ask for some simple information and they said they would call me right back, no one had called me back. They appear to have no respect for people. The whole sale process went very smoothly indeed! A professional and friendly 5 star service -- with helpful analysis reports of 'rightmove' reports piecharts flowcharts etc to see how the sale is going, very helpful extra details that perhaps goes a bit beyond what other services provide? This extra overview of reassurance helped me not worry about the sale. I would like to thank Charlotte Perry (and Nick Richmond) who were very kind and professional with me during the whole viewings/sale process. I’ve lost track of the amount of times the manager here has changed his story to cover things that Chancellors have told me that don’t add up. In July 2016 I enquired about a property for sale in Chesham listed at £325k, and asked to arrange a viewing. Apparently the property had sold and completed the same day for more than my budget. A zoopla search shows it sold at the bottom end of my budget in Sep 2016. In August 2016 I phoned Chancellors regarding a rental property in Chesham. I was told this property had already been let and was no longer available. That very day I viewed the property through another agent and paid the fee to secure the property, and I am still living there now. Most recently in April 2017 I enquired about a property in Chesham marketed by Chancellors. Originally I could not get through to Chancellors to arrange a viewing so I asked my partner to call whilst I was working. She spoke to an Agent who said she would contact the occupiers and arrange a viewing on our behalf. In the Chesham branch the same day I was told the property was sold. 15 mins later they were calling my partner to say they hadn’t got in touch with the occupiers yet to arrange a viewing! I kept myself and my partner independent as I knew the games this branch play from my dealings with them the previous year. Daniel Hemsley then called me the next day to “clarify” the situation. The official line he tried to give was that the house is under offer and the owner had asked for no more viewers, although wants the house to remain on the market. I do not know what this was supposed to clarify as me and my partner had been told two completely different stories in the space of an hour the previous day, I the property was completed and my partner that a viewing would be arranged. Daniel then went on to try and blame a trainee member of staff for the confusion whom neither I nor my fiancé had ever had any dealings with before. Daniel originally tried to say on the phone that he had never had any dealings with me in the past, before remembering the similar story he told me in July 2016. The Associate Director also in my opinion made an indirect joke at my expense saying I hope you find a suitable property in the area, knowing that they essentially have a monopoly on the market in this area. Again on this evening they called my partner to say they hadn’t managed to contact the occupiers but were digging asking personal questions to see if this was the connection that made it evident their story didn’t add up – giving her false hope which in my opinion could only be done by the lowest of character. I find it completely unacceptable that this team of people at the Chesham branch can deal with people and their family’s futures in this way. It takes so much work, effort and sacrifice just to get to this point and then when you get there Chancellors do nothing but hinder you, feed you different stories, and make calls giving false hope to try and cover their own tracks.... Excellent Gold Star service from Alec Worrall, Daniel Hemsley, Joshua Harding & Rebecca Wilkins. Most refreshingly and reassuringly Alec did not try to bamboozle us with empty promises. To the contrary, he honestly laid out the facts about the current state the housing market and what our realistic expectations should be about the valuation of our house. He fully explained the services Chancellors would provide and obviously the costs. I was totally impressed. Within a matter or a day or two Alec, Daniel & Joshua had found me a buyer and a sale agreed. Rebecca provided invaluable updates until the completion. My main contact was Nick Richmond but when he was unavailable others were able to take my call and happy to assist. They are extremely knowledgable about the local area and also very importantly - efficient at turning round actions with them and being tenacious when chasing others in the chain to ensure the transaction goes through as quickly and smoothly as possibly. If you are buying or selling a property, there's only one estate agents to use and that is Chancellors Chesham. I can't say enough nice things about them, particularly Nick Richmond. He is truly a jewel in their crown. At a time where selling a house can be stressful, Nick was tremendous and made the whole process much easier.
