We booked a hotel room for our wedding anniversary and were quite disappointed by the stay. The room was nice but there was no acknowledgement of our anniversary and some of the facilities were lacking for an almost £300 night hotel - I asked for some cotton wool pads and was told by the reception team I could drive into the nearest town. We also asked for a suggestion of where to walk which would give us the best view of seeing some of the lakes and the receptionist told us any of the routes would. This was not the case, as the ones we ended walking had the views blocked by housing so we ended up walking down long gravel paths peering at the lake through the gaps between these houses. I think this would be lovely if you stay in one of the cabins but the hotel feels like an afterthought - the fact I emailed this feedback over to Lakes by Yoo as well following my stay and didn’t even get an acknowledgment only further highlights this.... I knew I was going to be in the area on Thursday 3rd October 2024, & I had a whole day to spare, so being true to myself, I was on the hunt for a spa day and wanted to get something booked. I spent a couple of days looking on Google, reading reviews, referring to social media, and I can without a doubt say, I am so pleased that I chose The Lakes By Yoo. Wow! From the moment I arrived, the Bar & Kitchen dining area had a lovely, cozy, warm atmosphere, overlooking the stunning lakes, with happy, friendly, helpful and polite staff. The decor itself was rustic, yet very modern and contemporary. My breakfast was a really nice start to the spa experience. The Spa itself was amazing, I had the most relaxing, comfortable and hydrating Facial, then got to enjoy the spa facilities, which I was lucky enough to have all to myself. The spa definitely has a very private, exclusive feel to it, where every last detail has been carefully thought about. I left feeling so happy and I have already told my friends, colleagues & family! Lovely location but terrible service. Took ages to be greeted and seated. The waitress who served us was so completely disinterested and looked very irritated and bothered to having to serve us. Drinks took ages to arrive and food was just OK. I had the Ramen which was very mediocre. Ice creams were lovely and my kids loved the playground.... Read more

Really great little place with a nice view. The food is mostly very tasty, especially the nduja flatbread. For 4, starters and mains with a drink, you're looking at £160ish which is a tad pricey. Great food and service in beautiful location, summer or winter. Been a few times, consistently good experiences. I recommend you book in advance, as it is becomimg very popular. Has a lovely indoor area plus great outdoor sitting next to the playground, overlooking the lake. Staff is great, very friendly and professional. Parking is free.... Read more
