Cannot fault the service and overall experience from start to finish. As a purchaser quickly Mark identified our requirements and limitations and worked hard to facilitate a deal to get it over the line to suit all parties.
To also have Laura follow up the conveyancing process on an almost weekly basis was useful to keep the sale on track.

So disappointed and had to pull out of a property purchase due to lack of disclosures. Waste of both mine and vendors time, plus I’m out of pocket having had to pay conveyancing fees.
Agent needs to be more transparent and honest to avoid these situations.

From start to finish, Richard James estate agent have been impeccable. Mark visited us initially and was efficient, knowledgeable and authentic. Excellent communication including a whatsapp group set up for quick fix comms. The house was on the market for under 2 weeks when we received a buyer which was fantastic. Lots of viewings too in those 2 weeks with perfect professionalism from RJ. Laura was our sales progressor who kept us up to date instantly on anything required like visits from builders etc. and also pushing through to find out what was happening with solicitors and so on. Buying or indeed selling a property in my case can be very daunting. With a large selection of people offering to help it can be a minefield that some just choose to avoid.
We first met Mark back in March 23 when we decided to sell our flat, it was refreshing to get some honest feedback on pricing and market conditions, we decided to proceed and had dealings with both Mark and Hugo during the viewings process, once sold everything was passed to Laura to progress, although everybody was always happy to help.
Laura was a real pleasure to deal with, always kept us up to date on the steps, was often ahead of the game when it came to chasing solicitors etc to.
The whole process was as easy as I suppose it could have been, some delays at the end but nothing to do with Richard James and everybody there helped push things over the line.

The team go above, beyond and further for you to make sure that you are informed and more importantly are honest and open with the customer at all times.
I am particularly grateful for my dealings with Fredy and then the Progression Agent, Jo Costin. Both Fredy and Jo have been incredibly flexible and accommodating. Often emailing us even after the doors are closed to provide us with any update promised.

Really good team who worked hard to secure our sale and purchase. They also have someone who chases up and down the chain to check on progress and send out an update every week. This could be even better if they had a form to give to solicitors asking them to keep the estate agents updated with progress. I have found out that the legal profession does not believe it is their responsibility to keep people in the chain informed of progress. Great job, guys!

Got our business with a high valuation then almost immediately was urging us to accept the first offer that was much, much lower, and lower than any of the various valuations we'd had, and much less than we eventually got. Classic estate agent tactic and one to avoid. Elementary mistakes with the listing, and when their sign fell over they never fixed it despite reminders. Pleasant to deal with at least and the lettings side were helpful.

I can not recommend Richard James, Highworth highly enough.
Grant is the pinnacle of estate agents and his team, particularly Avril, whom I had most of my dealings with apart from Grant, are second to none as well.
I agreed the selling price the property was to be initially marketed at with Grant, and was happy with the commission percentage too, favourably comparable to some other high end estate agents.
Grant had promised that Richard James had a wide network with which to bring in potential buyers and indeed he brought in viewings of people located all over the country, including London. Within the first few weeks there were multiple viewings a week for what is a high value ‘niche’ property. This was also during a time of year that one would think the market would slow down, after the summer, beginning the run up to Christmas.
Very soon an offer came in that was very close to the asking price, which I accepted.
Then things slowed down, largely due to complications that were outside of Grant’s control. However with tenacity, tact and diplomacy Grant and his team worked tirelessly to get the sale over the line. It can’t have been the easiest sale they’ve ever had, but Grant was there at every step to push the sale forwards, never losing enthusiasm despite testing difficulties. He’s born for this job. Sensible, calm, personable, driven.
I wish Grant and his team every success in the future.

Everyone at Richard James in Highworth --- Avril, Grant, Sue & Lisa, and also James --- is extremely professional, knowledgeable, efficient and proactively helpful. Not only could they hardly have done a better job of selling my home, or exceeded my hopes and expectations by an even greater margin, or gone further beyond the call of duty: they also couldn't be nicer or more delightful to deal with. They are very special people whom I enjoyed dealing with throughout. With their superb social as well as occupational skills, they proved well able to manage any situation, however difficult, and every time I visited the office the warm reception they gave me (however long I stayed --- and I did tend to stay rather long!) made it a thoroughly pleasant experience. They have my warmest and most enthusiastic recommendations, and I'm convinced that anyone who gets their help in buying, selling, letting or renting property should count themselves very lucky. I'll always remember them fondly, and indeed very much hope to meet them again. Any of them, any time, would be a most welcome guest to my home in Bournemouth, if they feel like a visit to Dorset. And even without the slightest property-related excuse I'll always be tempted to drop in when I'm in the Highworth area, just for the fun of seeing them.

I would like to thank Avril and Grant for their help with my recent purchase, I know they were selling the property and get their commission from the sale but I felt that they gave me impartial advice when needed and were open and upfront about various issues outside of their control to do with the purchase.
On the odd occasion when Avril or Grant were not available Sue and Lisa from the team were able to help with any query I had.
Also the aftercare, since moving in to our new house we have had a few things to sort out and Avril seemed only to happy to go that extra mile.

Richard James are the worst estate agents I have dealt with as a tenant. The staff my partner and I dealt with were rude, condescending and incompetent. The property we rented was ininhabitable and we were let out of the tenancy agreement after two months of constant badgering and council involvement.
If dealing with them as a tenant they will always take the landlords side regardless of whether the complaint is legitimate (the property we rented was damp to the point of having fungi growing, had zero insulation and ventilation). We had to get the council environmental health department to step in as they weren’t willing to contact the landlord and take the complaint seriously.

Initial meeting was friendly and seemed professional. I went with Richard James on this basis. Also swayed by the fact they had sold similar properties in the area. However, the initial valuation was vastly over estimated, and after some wrangling, price of my property was lowered, and another agent from a different office concurred. Still no sale, so price was dropped further. Sale agreed finally, and Avril was lovely. Couldn't be more helpful. But I lost a lot of money on the say so of the negotiator. Avril is to be commended, helpful, professional and personable.

Grant arranged 10 viewings within the first week and after 8 days we had accepted an offer above the asking price.
