It seems the auction display was well organised this week with two helpful staff in the room. There were lot of items of furniture, jewellery, framed pictures, and some unusual artefacts to look at. I have had dealings with Thimbleby and Shorland on two occasions both of which have been extremely negative. On both occasions, I have dealt with an employee called Rob Smith. In fairness, we have only communicated via e-mail but I would not wish to meet with him personally. Why? Because his writing style is extremely arrogant and patronising and if this is how he writes to potential up-and-coming clients, then I literally shudder to think how he treats them in person.... Always amazing I couldn’t ask for more. Cheaper buyers premium than other online auctioneers. Great service quick to respond and all staff that I’ve spoken to have been polite and helpful. Great place not just for traders. Would be a great place for a small land or woodland owner to purchase kit needed. If it's got a motor and the guide says it works get them to start it before you take it away. I've been up there a couple times now both times very easy to complete transactions... Read more

Good auction for furniture and jewellery,friendly helpful staff. I left this above review 5 years ago, when Thimbleby and Shorland was a superb and outstanding Auction house too visit, I have visited today after a long break, this was too collect some Auction purchase’s. What a change in service and attitude, no longer the polite helpful pleasant place too visit sadly. Not enough room too list all the comments, but I will say, my next visit, if at all will be extremely rare. Organised chaos! No need for a reply, your collection representative said it all! Bought a 150kva Perkins generator on November 2017 and the engine was seize. These lot mostly sell hired generators of speedy company and the generators be knackered and faulty. Losing all the money and repair is too expensive.... Read more

I purchased one this month and my lot number was different and it was the 1st time I was buying online from these lot and they decided to give me some faulty one even-though i Purchased a different one which they decided to sell as choice of 3.
