I had a poor experience with Hollis Morgan. I was in the process of purchasing a new build property advertised by Hollis Morgan, and had my offer accepted in Sept 25, and progressed close to exchange of contracts.
Late in the process, I was informed by my solicitor that there was an issue with the property title relating to access to the property, and that indemnity insurance would be required due to the absence of a formal easement. Although the developer paid for the indemnity insurance, I was very frustrated as this had only been raised months down the process and not disclosed at the outset.
Based on this new information and the associated risks, I decided to withdraw from the purchase.
My experience was that this was a significant issue to be raised so late in the transaction, and earlier transparency would have influenced my decision-making. I requested for the developer to pay our legal fees as a gesture of good will which they refused. I also raised this with Hollis Morgan and they didn’t provide much support on this matter and just told us to raise it with our solicitor.
