As prospective tenants, Linley & Simpson did not let us know until a week beforehand that we were confirmed to be moving in. We had provided all of the referencing and documentation in plenty of time. This simply isn’t good enough, and caused a lot of stress as my partner was supposed to be starting a new job and I was due to have surgery at hospital. Communication was poor. Upon chasing them up they said it was “normal” for there to be less than a week’s notice, which is shocking. I would have appreciated an apology for the delay and an explanation.
On the other hand, they have been very good with several maintenance and other issues. The house is quite old, and within less than a year we have needed a leak fixed, a window pane fixing and a locksmith. L&S have taken care of this without much hassle at all. On the day of key pickup, we were caught in a pile-up on the motorway from Manchester and weren’t able to get to their office until after closing time. We are very grateful to L&S that they arranged for us to be able to pick up the key after hours - or we would have been stranded with all our belongings. Almost everyone I have spoken to at L&S has been polite and helpful. It’s just a shame that the move in process was tainted by them dragging their feet and keeping tenants in the dark.... Read more
