Moving house is always an anxious time, especially when it’s been some time since you did it last so choosing the right Estate Agent to support and guide you is fairly critical in reducing that anxiety.
We did the customary ‘Google Review’ searches on-line and chose some local agents to visit us and talk through our options.
There was much talk about other properties selling prices, market trends, fees, contracts etc, “I’m the manager, one of my team will look after you”, “if you get better price let me know, we’ll match or beat it”, all very transaction driven and vey impersonal.
Then we met from Jack from Abshot Estates, and what a breath of fresh air he turned out to be. He arrived punctually and after the initial general pleasantries,
His first question was,
“Before we go forward, what’s important to me is that I believe I can help you so can you tell me about your situation and what it is you’re trying to achieve from selling your property”?
After we had spoken for some time and Jack had a good understanding of our needs, he said he thought he could help us and only then did he explain the history of Abshot and how he felt they were best placed to guide and support us through our journey.
In that first visit Jack made many promises about what he and his team could do to help us…and then went on kept every single one of them. When there were difficulties with our own purchase and we were struggling to get answers we contacted Abshot. Even though they were not selling the house we were buying, they got involved anyway, got the answers we needed, kept things moving and all with great clarity and calmness.
We cannot recommend Jack and his team highly enough and the adage, ‘big enough to cope, small enough to care’ is very apt in Abshot Estates case, who offer a personalised approach to moving house, tailored to your individual needs, supported by a ‘World Class’ team, who keep their promises and communicate clearly.

I don't believe without them we would have moved due to their extremely hard work, dedication, communication and perseverance to get the job done. From the start Jack will spend time guiding you through the process, providing an accurate valuation on your home that doesn't result in the agent calling you after 2 weeks to suggest dropping the price, like so many others who over value to get you to sign up with them. The photographer was excellent, taking carefully thought out pictures of all the rooms and outside. Communication is impeccable with great use of a what's app group chat once on the market. Feedback was swiftly communicated after viewings and once an offer was made and accepted the team continue to work with you rather than palm you off to another department. The 3 staff members at Abshot continue to treat you with the same respect and compassion from start to finish. When the chain got complicated they held it together, making constant calls and even working on behalf of those lower in the chain despite them not even being with Abshot. This was to make sure the desired end result was achieved. Questions were answered swiftly, even outside office hours and there was always reassurance when things got sticky. Even on the final day, Abshot worked tirelessly to ensure all loose ends were tied up until completion. Don't hesitate to contact the knowledgeable, helpful and friendly team at Abshot when it's time to sell your home. You won't be disappointed! Thanks Jack, Amy and Becca for all your hard work!
