Shocking company! My mum viewed a property, said she wanted it straight away, wanted to pay the deposit but the agent wouldn't take cash and the office was closed for the day so he told her to ring first thing next morning at 9am. She gets up early and calls at 8.55 and they've given it to someone else! one person said they had paid the deposit last night (how? the office was closed and we were the last viewing of the day) and another said they had transfered the funds that morning. Very unprofessional and when I called to complain the staff had a very "couldn't care less" attitude... Read more

Emailed to enquire about an apartment, quick, friendly response. I wanted to talk in person, instead of messaging, so i went down to the estate agents. I was speaking to, who i believe to be Tracey, who was the same lady emailing me. She was rude, and seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. The policy is that there are no under 25's, this is not stated clearly anywhere. When i asked about guarantors, she asked me how old i was, proceeding to say 20 and 21. She told me that she "didn't want to hear my age" and hurried me out of the door as quick as she could. Will not return to them, and will tell this story to anyone who thinks of going there.... The office lady Tracy comes across very sharp and abrupt. Not willing to accept own mistakes and goes back on there words about terms. Don't trust them for what they say. Get things in writing straight away as they are all smiles and appear to offer good service and then wallop you where it hurts. Out of pocket by £200 thanks to Bernard stills back peddling about a verbal agreement. Customer service is good if they are trying to win your money other than that complaints never get resolved and very shark like in the office. Tracey has obviously taken her woes of life to work with her as not very customer focused. They will loose business in the long term if they don't change their act as they have potential to be better.... Read more

Baker and Elder were brilliant. I live in Spain and rented out my house furnished. B and E took care of everything - helped me to find a really nice tenant and then, when the odd thing happened like questions about appliances or fences - they sorted it out quickly and professionally - and it didn't cost me too much. I had to return to the UK because my partner became very sick and they were incredibly supportive during the handover. When I return to Spain I will definitely use then again - and I highly recommend them as an agent for anyone renting out their property - especially, like me if it is also your home. Have been a tenant of baker and elder just over a year now and I do not have a bad word to say about them they are quick to reply to problems and issues I may have and always solve the issue immediately or as soon as they can...The staff are all very warm and friendly Wether I'm talking to them on the phone or popping into the shop they always make me feel welcome...look forward to remaining a tenant of there's for many years to come yet...Thank you baker and elder for making my first home a very happy home :) xx... My experience of the owners, management and staff of this agency is a positive one. Whenever I speak to them on the telephone they are helpful, polite and always get to speak to the person I need to. The staff have all worked there a long time so I have built up a great relationship with them. Continue the hard work guys, I know there are difficult people out there and not everyone will place a review unless it is something to moan about!!... Read more
