NO STUDENTS MOVE IN WITH CHRiSTIES Where do I start! The worst communicators I have ever encountered and have no respect for students. 1) We moved in with no working toilet, it was leaking through the floor, almost collapsing the ceiling and giving water damage to next door. It took them 3 months of unsanitary water pouring out to fix it - we had to use the university toilets. 2) Our furniture was broken and they had just stuffed blankets into the base to 'fix it' leaving them broken and unable to sit on them. 3) Mould in the rooms and damp was never addressed. 4) They didn't clean the house before moving in then tried to charge us a £300+ cleaning bill even though the house was cleaner when we moved out. 5) Ross the estate agent said new beds and a new kitchen were going to be installed before moving in - one of the reasons we chose this house but never delivered - Lies! 6) Our dishwasher and washing machine didnt work and took 5 months to replace. All in all complete terrible year following up with them taking money off or deposit. On a positive note they were very nice when going into store.... Read more

A big thank you to Carol and Shona at Christie's. We went into the office and we were greeted warmly after calling beforehand to say we were coming. They had already found an alternative property to show us if the first one didn't work out - very impressed. Both Shona and Carol worked extremely hard and we had good banter with them throughout the day. The office was short of two members of staff, whilst waiting we were given a drink and we left with the key of our first choice property after being shown two other suitable properties. We left extremely happy and can't thank them enough for making a potentially very stressful situation much easier! They truly went above and beyond to find the perfect fit for me!... Read more

Worst estate agents ever!!! Do not sign with them! My friends and I had a property and we paid and signed the contract, they then kicked us out with no warning whatsoever when a new set of tenants showed up! Even though we paid a fee to secure it and we were told there is no way they would remarked! It is all about the money, they do NOT honour and agreement which is ILLEGAL! They are rude and do not care about students wellbeing whatsoever, they basically made us homeless and took all of our money and refused to pay us back! And to top it off they kept on changing the contract on docs so that once we signed we had to agree to terms we didn’t originally agree to! I’m so happy I’m not with them anymore and I hope you don’t make the same mistake!... Read more

Poor communication as will only talk to the main tenant. Taken nearly 2 months to return deposit after moving out (still havent received it). Charges costs for unreasonable reasons. They lost keys after I returned them so this was taken from my deposit.... Read more

I rent commercial property from Christie's. The roof leak for 8 months. Landlord say repair will be covered by his insurance .We wait 8 months for proper repair, can't trade any time when is rain.Pay the rent always on time ,never day late. Landlord agree with us to don't pay one month rent, but on the end of contract disagreed to pay our deposit back. Christie's said they can't do anything .Very disappointed with them.... Read more

Christies think that they can treat students badly because we're "Naive" and I think it's disgusting, no adult family would put up with how this agency treats students. Being in the office is unsettling, the staff are rude and will not talk to you like a normal person. We were told every time we went down to sign papers that that was the last time we would have to return until we get the keys. Every time we had "completed" the paperwork we receive another email telling us in a very rude manner that there are yet more papers. I have been down to the agency about 10 times since I viewed the house I'm renting. I honestly think they're ridiculous and if I knew how unorganised and rude they were I would have put my money some where else... Read more

Bad service and organisation. When we moved in to our rented property the house was filthy, even though before we moved in we had to pay a cleaning fee. Appliances were also not in working order. It took just shy of a month to get the property to "liveable condition". Every time we have a query or issues it takes weeks to resolve as no one follows anything up, and we have to continually phone and restate the problem. On numerous occasions have awaited a tradesmen for them not to turn up and no one at the agency have any clue why. I fail to see how an estate agent struggles so much with their principle role of managing property. The only saving grace is the staff are extremely polite while failing to get anything sorted. Cannot wait to leave the agency which is a shame as after a lot of work we enjoy our property.... Read more

Apartment came with: Damp walls, rats, not cleaned properly, sills on windows dangling around, bathroom floor rotten and leaking to the bottom residents, a very old boiler that broke a week after I moved in and got fixed 3 weeks later. The staff is completely incompetent: They do not return calls, they do not confirm anything you ask, they are utterly stupid. Threatened a few times with going to the council and going to public health. Bottom line, do not trust this agency to do a proper job, find someone else.... Read more

Disappointing. I am a student tenant and they did not bother to clean the house before i moved in, it was not in living condition. When i approached them they continuously hide the truth and delay the cleaning and repair services. The staff is very inefficient, ridiculously rude and sarcastic when I asked for more information regarding my issues, they did not even resolve any of my problems. I even went to the city council to file a complaint. I hope to raise awareness regarding this agency so they would improve their services. Would not recommend this agency service to anyone as it is terrible.... Read more

Staffed by incompetent imbeciles. Extremely poor communication skills. They charge money for ridiculous things, for example, when you want a reference at the end of a tenancy. Took almost two months to get our deposit back because they failed to let us know about anything that happened between the landlord and DPS. I was with them for a year and I couldn't be happier to have left them. Tip to staff: Go to a seminar or course on basic customer service. At that point maybe you will develop skills that 16 year olds in college have already mastered.... Read more

I rent my property through Christies and I have to say I am utterly disappointed to find they have my tenants rent money but have not paid me! I have called and emailed to be nothing but fobbed off...I have asked them to pay by 12noon tomorrow so lets see. Very very bad and I would avoid using them if you want security.... Read more

Horrible at organisation, at least for the house and landlord we got. The house has several issues reported about but not addressed until months later into the year and the deposit repayment form has only been talked about 4 months after the end of the tenancy. Other than that the staff have been friendly when walking into the agency or making a call. If you are a student looking for a house I would not recommend this agency unless you are desperate....
